Moving from songs in your Windows Media Library.

This is in regards to Windows Media Player 11. I recently started to download songs from off of internet. Unforutnately sometimes songs by the same artist will appear in my library under several names. For example, a song can be placed in the library under the correct name of the artist, the next song may be under a slightly different name (due to a misspelling) and other songs may be under unknown artists or others, for me at least, for unknown reasons. I would like to know if there is one way, other than to create a Playlist, to put these songs under different names in one common name (preferably the correct name of the artist). Now, sometimes I have to go search the library to find where the artists of the same songs have been placed in the library.

Hello

Unfortunately the playlist is the only way that will help you to organize the music files and media on Windows media player. Since you have the names of the different tracks for the same artist, the files will eventually show as different entities. Automatic selection is an option that you should look for.

Auto playlists are particularly powerful because they allow using player you can find, organize, and play just the music you want to listen to, based on criteria that you define. The content of a selection automatically dynamically updated when you make changes to your library. For example, if you add several songs in your library, you must manually add each song to an automatic selection. the player scored on the automatic playlists automatically appropriate using unique criteria for each automatic. It's like having an assistant who knows what you like and who takes care of the details so that you can concentrate on listening to good music. To create an auotplaylist follow the steps mentioned below.

1. click on the arrow below the Library tab, then click on create Auto Playlist.

2. in the name of the Auto Playlist, type a name for the playlist.

3. Select the criteria you want to use for automatic selection. The following steps show how you would set up an auto playlist that contains songs that you have rated to 4 or 5 stars:

4. in the criteria list, verify that music in my library is displayed.

5. click on click here to add criteria and then click on my ranking.

The player adds automatically is at least 4 stars. When you play this playlist, all the music that you have rated to be 4 stars or more will be included in the playlist.

6. to delete a criterion, click it and then click on remove.

How can I transfer music from my iPod to Windows Media Player?

WMP is not built-in iPod support, so you will need to use another media player, such as iTunes or Winamp, to get the music from the iPod to the PC (I don't know if iTunes will allow you to do, but Winamp will certainly be).

If you then copy the music files to your personal music collection, they appear automatically in the WMP library.

  • I can't delete some files from Windows Media Library

I emptied on all downloads of music from my computer, but I am unable to get rid of titles and generic icons for in Windows Media Player (5000 of them). I tried all the remedies published without success.

Is it possible to remove and reinstall Windows Media Player?

Can anyone give me more information?

    Thank you

    Hi Trifolium Verde,

Follow the steps below and check if that helps you solve the problem with Windows Media Player.

    Method 1

You can try to clear the database of Windows Media Player and check if it clears thetitles and generic icons

To do this, follow these steps:

    Step 1

    1. exit Windows Media Player.

    2. for Windows 7: click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player , and then click OK.

    3. Select all the files in the folder, and then click delete on the file menu.

Note you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    4. restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

    Step 2

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. exit Windows Media Player.

    2. If you are running Windows 7, click Start, click Run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft and then click OK.

3 select the folder Media Player, and then click delete on the file menu.

    4. restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

Also note before performing the steps above, I suggest to save the songs and try the steps above.

    Method 2

If the steps above do not resolve the problem, you can try to disable Windows Media player and then enable the feature that is as good as the uninstall and put it back. Follow the steps below to do the same.

To enable or disable the window Media Player 12, follow these steps:

    1. click the Start button, select Control Panel, click programs and then click turn on turn Windows features on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    2. expand Media features clear the check box next to the feature of Media Player, to remove media player. Click OK and restart the computer.

    3. turn on the media player again by selecting the check box next to the feature of Media Player.

Access the link below for more information on the steps above to turn off or on the features of Windows 7.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-features-on-or-off

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • How can I copy my Karaoke from CD + G on Windows Media Center records and have my collection on my laptop?

I have a nice collection of karaoke disc CD + G I want to be able to copy on my media center windows and being able to have my accessible karaoke music on my laptop.  I need to connect my laptop to my home entertainment center and have our usual karaoke fun nights with friends and family.  It told me that windows media center would be perfect for this because it can categorize my music and make it easy to locate our favorite songs and so on please help me to find the solution to my situation.  We do not want to download karaoke from the internet, we simply want to use what we have.

Given that technical issues are inappropriate in the forum comments responses, I moved your post to the windows ' Music and Sound: forum.»  Always include your version of Windows when you post.

Karaoke CD is not normal music CD, I think that you will need a program.  I don't think that Windows Media Center can read data from subtrack.  See this: http://experts.windows.com/frms/windows_entertainment_and_connected_home/f/25/t/11036.aspx

A codec for karaoke claiming to allow Windows Media Player to manage the CD + G discs can be found here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/karaoke-dx/files/

  • Windows media library player completes, but the library is not in the music folder.

When I open Media Player, all my music is available to play.  However, when I open music folder in my documents, the songs do not exist.  Therefore, it is difficult to manage music.  A single note.  I have iTunes on my computer.  The iTunes of the file in the music folder exisits, but only contains about half of the songs.  I wonder if it is corrupt.

    Hello

You did changes to the computer, before the show?

Music, videos and photos from Windows records files on your computer, while the Windows Media Player library contains only links to these files.

To find where a file is stored on your computer:

    a. click the arrow below the library tab, and then click Add to library.
    b. click on the library tab, and then browse to the file you want on your computer. Or, if the file is displayed in the list pane, continue to the next step.
    c. right-click on the file, then Open file location.

To find where all files are stored in a category, follow these steps:

    a. on the address bar , click on the click a categoryand then click on the category you want, such as the music.
    b. in the Navigation pane, click on library, and then click show more views.
    c. in the Navigation pane, click the folder. A column in the details pane displays the path to the files in this category.

  • How can I copy music from I-Tunes to Windows media player.

I understand that you can not download directly from I-Tunes music to a droid.

I have a lot of songs in my I-Tunes library, but want to copy everything on my windows media player, so that I can then sync them with my Droid.

I tried to open both my I-Tunes and a medical reading windows window and then tried to drag and drop each (a tedious taks for all my songs) song in the media player window, but he wouldn't.  Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

    How can I accomplish this?

What is the file type (or types) of your music files?

In WMP, press F3 to display add it to the library, make sure that the Advanced Options are displayed, add the folder that contains your music iTunes to the list and click OK. The songs that are in a format which WMP recognises, will then be added to the library.

  • How can I add a data cd that I burned in my windows media library?

I was about to do a cover of the plant out-of-box and burned all my music and photos on several CD in the form of data. I made the recovery. I can get the CD to play in windows media, but for the life of me, the rip options or anything else I try just won't let me get those files in my library. Can someone please? Or is this beyon repair problem?

No need to rip CD data - you can just use Windows Explorer to copy MP3 files from your music collection CD personal. After that, they should appear automatically in the WMP library.
