  I moved my VC DB to another server and made to recreate jobs for the postponement of his performance stats. I forgot to check my vCenter in front DR, but when I did today, I noticed that the jobs that you have mentioned exist in a vCenter nine 4.1 DB as opposed to a DB from 4.0 to 4.1 upgrade. I saw warnings under vCenter Service status as jobs were not cleaning all the data.

  I solved the problem by running queries for all work on my upgraded DB VC. Now the two DBs have the same jobs such as topn spent the day, etc.

  Queries are named job_blah, blah_mssql.sql. I ran all but Annex 1, 2 & 3 (perf stats) and this has created the same jobs as the new vCenter 4.1 DB.

  The path to the sql queries is file://\\%vCenterServer%\c$\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\VirtualCenter Server

  After our production server is down with a motherboard broken, we install another server (different hwardware) and installed vSphere 5.1. Existing virtual machines (database) (origin server) are on a raid (two drives raid 1) controller. We installed the RAID drivers in vSphere to make the database accessible (Areca RAID controller).   Have you added two virtual disks to the virtual machine? The _2 in the file name machinename.com_2.vmdk indicates usually that it's the second virtual disk on the virtual computer

  Unfortunately OEM cannot be moved to another computer, even if you upgraded the computer to the ultimate.

  Be physical vmotion wouldn't work - then you options:

  (1) vCenter maintaining physical - to maintain the existing environment, you will need to copy the existing database on the new server vCenter - once it is install a new copy of vCenter on the new machine set up the oDBC connector to point to the version copied from the database. If you are not concerned to maintain the existing environment, you can simply install a fresh instance of vcenter and remove the old environment ESX hosts and add them to the new vcenter.

  I'm certainly not an expert in the field, but I think you can do what you're asking using the functionality of the Web application.

  You bring a plist to webapps folder and a conf file in the apache folder and then using.app, edit your Web site, and then click Change advanced settings and select the Web application that you created. It should not then be written more if you make any changes.

  Wanted to ask if it was possible to take the info created by VSS and move it to another server? The reason why I ask is that I need to information to a file on a backup server, copy it to another standby server and have it ready to go when the original bang goes machine!

  While enjoying the fact than expected jobs work fine with the backup software and can copy the file backup due to another server as a :-) scheduled task I can't put automated restoration work to restore back this folder on a daily basis by using the backup of windows server or backup exec (very annoying!). I was wondering if I could create shadow copies of the file/volume concerned on the original server, and then have a script that has copied the files on the backup server?

  Just in addition, the concerned files/folders are usually left "open" or "locked" (these include mdb files too!) so just using xcopy etc will not work :-(

  Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome :-)

• Cannot connect to share on another server with a short name only

  • We are having a problem with a SCCM server on windows 2008 R2 enterpeise and trying to connect to another Server 2003 \\aush-pen-xxx01\c$ and gets the error message the specified network name is no longer available. I can do a nslookup and ping the server very well. can map using the ip address and the fully qualified name fine. Can get to other thin servers. and also connect to other servers to the server aush-feather end. This works if the server, then it stops again. No errors in the event log. Tried to get other disks on the server and the same issue. I created another share with permisions for all and always the same question.

    Any ideas?

    • This is the C$ which is the part of the administrator and I can access other servers. I created a test share and get the same question even if share and security permissions are at the world. When I restart the SCCM server, it's good for a while, then I get the error again. I need for SCCM to access this share. Maybe some kind of smb or implementing caching perhaps?

  I restarted the license server and the computer running SP1 2014, but no change. Is it possible to reconnect the installation may be (even if obviously it seems to apply the license of the VLM, as it should...) to get results sorted (other than reinstalling everything and try to apply the service pack again...).
