MP4 video format. Can it be converted to burning DVDs?

I pulled all my videos in MP4 (Cybershot DSC-HX50V) format, before I knew the difference between AVCHD/MP4 (20 days of vacation in South Africa). I discovered I should used AVCHD if I burned a DVD with the software PlayHome - and this format MP4 disk cannot be burn it to a DVD.  There are 3 third-party software that allows to convert, but it's fresh.  A simple solution to get my holiday videos on a disc for my friends and my family?  Thanks for your suggestions, Erinlad.

Nice day! You can try to search the Internet for video files free, software conversion. To burn MP4 on a DVD, you must have DVD authoring software installed on your computer, such as the DVD Architect Studio, NeroVision or Roxio Creator software. Other third party DVD authoring software can be compatible. Depending on the software you are using, there may be options to burn a DVD. To burn a DVD that can play in a regular DVD player, choose the video DVD option. Also, be sure to use a blank disc format that is compatible with your DVD player. Most of the DVD players support DVD-R format. You can use the engines of search (for example. www.Google.com, www.yahoo.com) to search for these software.

  • What are video formats can use imovie 10.1?

    Running iMovie on OS X on a MacBook Pro11, 1 10.11.3 10.1.1. iPhone 5 c on iOS 9.2.1.

If I take a video on the iPhone, and transfer the file to the Mac, the answer is "iMovie does not open the files to" QuickTime movie "

If I try to open a video file .m4v to iMovie, the answer is "iMovie can't open files in format" Apple MPEG-4 movie.

Files (and many of them like them) play very well in FCPX (I know, I know), QuickTime player and a dozen other applications.

    including Mail.app.

I tried the iMovie deletion (and associated files) and installing fresh from the App Store.

Seems more than a little pathological.

OK, progress just poking randomly, apparently.

It appears that if you create an empty project, the files in question suddenly appear to be usable, and iMovie fortunately allows you to import media.

    Answering this question, it seems.

  • Windows Media Player 11 cannot show MP4 video but can hear the sound

Hi all, I prefer WMP on the other players, because he is able to play most of my MP4 without any lag. However, there are some MP4 files that do not show the Visual but audio is heard when I played against them on WMP. Interestingly, when the same MP4 files are played on other players, audio and video are very good. I take so that the files are ok, but may need to change the system or WMP.

Appreciate any advice. I'm on Windows XP and WMP ver 11.0.5721.5280. Thank you very much.

  • How to convert MP4 videos to MP3 format before you burn to DVD

Convert MP4 videos to MP3 format before you burn to DVD

Downloaded videos from FLIP ULTRA HD camcorder to the computer. Used Windows DVD Maker. Tried to burn DVDs. Came to the MP4 format, which cannot be shown on television or in our other computer. Retail store said that I need to convert the Windows DVD Maker (or FLIP) in MP3 (AVI) format before saving videos and burning. How can I do this? I have to buy a conversion software?

    Hi brigboys,

Yes, you need software conversion audio/video that is available online. Use your favorite search engine to find a converter of video files, some of which are also available free of charge to convert a certain amount of the size of the file.

  • Best video format - MP4, DV, MOV...?

    Hello!

I'd love your advice on the best video format for use in iMovie 10.1.1.

In 2009, before that I migrated to Apple, I scanned some 50 family Hi8 videos. Later, when I migrated to Apple, I had to convert it into a format compatible with iMovie. Then, I don't have time to go further. Now that I'm retired I would edit the videos but I find myself with sometimes up to 4 versions of the same file, with very different sizes, and I don't know who should I choose and I should delete. For example, these are four versions, I have a video:

    Format size

TS 1.55 GB (in the Finder, it says that it's MPEG-2)

    DV 9,55 go

MP4 772 MB (in the Finder, it says that it's MPEG-4)

MOV 5.53 go (in the Finder is said that it is the QuickTime video)

    Sometimes it's the MPG format.

So my question is, what format should I keep? If I have to choose between quality and file size, I would choose quality.

I see that iMovie recognize the DV MP4 but not TS and MPG formats. Which simplifies my choice, I think.

To my surprise I see also that iMovie doesn't recognize the QuickTime files, even if it's an Apple software!

I sought an answer to my question elsewhere on the Internet, but I found conflicting reports. Where did my posting on this forum.

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer!

MP4 is a delivery format, meant to be watching.   DV is a less compressed format designed for publishing.  If Mp4 files will occupy less space than DV files.  However, you can change them both.  iMovie will accept both.  I would like to keep both.

My thought is that I edit in DV and export to Mp4 to watch.  If you burn it to a DVD, you will get the MP2, which is very highly compressed, designed for viewing, but terrible for editing.

Don't forget to back up your movies before doing anything.

I'm not sure that this link will work, but if this is the case it may be useful.

    Whats better dv or mpeg

  • Not compatible video formats to sony mp4

I got the Sony tablet S with the intention to use it as a media controller. I have all my music, photos and videos are stored on a stand-alone DLNA media server. Over the past 3 years I have been using Sony DCS - WX1, DCS - WX5 and DCS-HX9V Cameras for making MP4 videos. Playback of the video well on my Sony XBR - HX909 TV and PlayStation 3. The thing that kills me the most on the Sony S tablet is that it won't play video.

Why sony s tablet is not compatible with the products own sony video formats? I have hundreds of hours of videos made by the sony cameras and this sony tablet will not play them. WTF.

To make things worse, I can't even throw the videos on TV. If the Sony Tablet S cannot read the video rendering device should not be able to play. Where is the logic of that?

Will there be an update to allow the Tablet S MP4 video piece produced by camera Sony products? Or to any the less being able to launch the video to a rendering device that can play video.

Convert my videos, it's out of the question. There are too many files, and why should I convert then just because of the limitation of the Sony Tablet S. In addition, my iPhone and my wife's iPad can play the video fine using a DLNA client application. I'd be more inclined to try to return this Sony Tablet or put it on ebay and just get an iPad if something can't solve this problem soon.

    Thank you sony

    + 1

Similar question. I like that I can store my music in one place and play in another place on the Tablet or on another device controlled by the Tablet S. I want to do the same thing with my videos. For example, my Tablet S can see the recordings on my DVR, but it will not play them. What a tease.

  • What is video formats that I can transfer from the computer to the IPhone?

    Hello

I am new user of IPhone

I was wondering what video formats such as avi-mp4-rmvb-mkv-vob () can I transfer from my computer to my IPhone and play on IPhone?

    Videos will be MP4.

  • This (software) reader can handle a wide range of video formats

I need locate a video file viewer that can handle a wide range of formats high definition (HD).

    • My VIXIA M400 MOV files,
    • My T2i MTS files,
    • My grandson uses files from an underwater camera cheap Coleman, MOV
    • The M2TS files are conversions of the Coleman camera MOV files, and
    • MOV files that a friend took on her camera NIkon underwater, AW100.

Over time, there may be other/other video formats, but for the moment a viewer who can see all of these movies would be great.

All the these are HD files.  AVCHD, I think.  All are captured on SD or SDHC or micro-SD cards.

I don't want software that "imports" SD cards to the computer files.  I'm not editing software.  I don't want to not cataloging software.  I want just a simple software which will see the files a wide range of HD (and I do not whether I'm a posting in HD).  When I saw them and decided to use (and not use), I'll then work importing and editing using the video editing software enough high-end I own.  But first of all, I would like to just see what I captured.

I looked and looked without success.  Frankly one of the most difficult files for me to see types are MOV files that come from the VIXIA.

Somehow, I don't think it should be as difficult as it seems to be.

Okay, I could have answered my own Q.

ArcSoft is 'VideoConverter 8' software that does a good job taking all sorts of file formats and transform them into other formats (especially useful for iPod, iPhone, Facebook, YouTube and similar items).

This software sells for about $30 and to view the files that are about to be converted.  I guess the idea is that if you don't like what you see, you do not convert.

In any case, it seems to manage all file formats I mentioned.  So I guess I found my own answer.  Wasn't easy, but I found it.

  • How can I import a fragment of mp4 video to dream?

Hello, can someone describe to me how to import a mp4 video fragment in my site in muse?

There are several widgets from third-party that may allow you to add your own video in a webpage of Muse, instead of letting 'framework you' a YouTube or Vimeo already loaded video. Take for example this one: Adobe Muse Widget | Customizable HTML5 video player themes of the Muse.

But please consider that there are more than to launch a video on the page...

If it would be as simple as that, Muse would allow you to use the place command for her!

1 to play video properly, you need the video at least 2 (preferably 3) of different file formats. When you take a look at the page the widget above, you can already see the image with the description, you need to provide a. MP4 files and one. WebM file. Another. OGG file would also help some older versions of Chrome (I think, I lost the titles of all browsers and the required conditions).

2 another question: users with older devices and good connection speeds would like to see a larger size with a smoother frame rate and better resolution. Users of mobile phones on a subscription data would prefer a smaller size with bandwidth more moderate.

3 if your video becomes popular, bandwidth to your hosting provider may become problematic and/or your data budget might run out quickly.

Video services like Vimeo and Google take care of all this for nothing!

So think before you launch your own video widget on your page...
