No record in my Zip Clip

With Windows Explorer, the only file shown on my Zip Clip is "Devicon.fil". What happened to the records to which I can add music? Is it possible to reformat the Zip Clip so I have the necessary files?

When I turn on the Clip Zip I can switch between the different choices (Radio, Sport, music, etc.), but I can't add any tunes via drag and drop.

What is the USB setting under settings of the player, the value options? You could try it MSC mode if set to Auto or MTP mode right now, or if set MTP mode in MSC mode. The trick with the USB mode is, your computer sees only the files that have been moved to the drive under USB mode that the player is then connected to the computer under. The reason why it may be better to leave the value MSC or MTP USB mode all the time and always (and to avoid the USB Auto setting, which tries to connect in MTP mode but then by default in MSC mode, if necessary).

  • Zip clip is impressive, but the screen is sideways

I recently put to date of a Clip + to a Zip Clip, and everything is even better than before, except that the screen is sideways to Polarized Sunglasses. Any other portable device I own (phones, MP3 players, tablets, etc.) appear to have installed their screens with glasses polarized in mind, but I have to rotate the Clip 90 degrees Zip in order to see the screen with my glasses.

I know it's a longshot, but if I open the Zip Clip and physically rotate the screen, is there anything in the firmware that allows me to rotate the screen 90 degrees? If not, can anyone think of a way to fix this problem?

  • Is the clip on the Clip Sport more sustainable than on the Zip Clip?

Like many of you, I had several Zip Clip clamps break/crack.  It is is a regrettable fault on an mp3 player also very functional.  I have my Zip clip to my belt of shorts when running, so a work item is an essential feature for me.

So is the clip on the new Sansa Clip Sport more rugged/durable and less prone to breaking than on the Zip Clip?

This bumping to see if someone can answer. Thanks in advance.

  • mp3 FLASH or SSD INTERNAL zip clip

I've seen a few different ads for the zip clip, one being 4 GB Flash MP3 and another for the internal memory in the solid state.

Is there a difference herein with respect to the way in which it are built? They seem to be the same price in my area so not sure

what the difference is, if any.

Flash is the most common type of the large solid state memory. The Clip uses flash as its storage in the solid state.

  • Zip clip has strong burst of static electricity at the end of some tracks

Recently newly bought Clip Zip 8 GB will have a strong burst of static at the end of some tracks. This happens on the titles that I put on the unit or with tracks that came on the device. I have a 8 GB microSD card, and it seems that both internal and external memory circuits have this problem. I don't know what the problem is, any comment is welcome.

I updated the firmware from 01.01.20A and it seemed to solve, or at least are not titles that have had the issue. I'm thinking that it resolved. Curiously, my wife bought an another zip clip last week, 4 GB, and it's at 01.01.20A.

  • Zip clip does not play music

Hi, I have problems with my Zip Clip. The last time that I used it, all the files/folders on this subject were deleted. I recreated the music folder and added a few songs that were playable on the front. When I click on the songs, they do not play. The text scrolls and but the progress bar never moves and theres no sound. It's not a headset issue. radio still works. I tried to reset and also updated the firmware. He has now TWO files 'Music' (one is what I created). It won't let me copy in the other folder of music or one of the automatically created folders.

Edit to add: I managed to do play music from SD card. It's just the internal memory that does not work. I added a few songs in the 'real' internal sync for WMP music folder. He jumps through all the songs in the internal memory now. This sounds like a hardware problem?

I would try to format (Settiings > system settings > Format) which will clear the memory and then re - load some files on the internal memory and see if they play. They are not DRM files (Rhapsody, sound, etc.) are they?

I would also keep WMP from the equation. Set the player in MSC mode (settings > system settings > USB Mode > MSC) and just drag & drop (copy & paste) files from your computer to the player.

  • Zip clip, buy or wait for the announcement?

    Hello guys!

I intend to order me a Zip Clip in a few days now. After searching a while for the perfect affordable MP3 player, I decided that I'll settle for the Zip Clip 8 GB gray.

However I just found out that SanDisk usually offers a new Sansa around this period of time. Of course if this news is just as good, so I want a new one to pick up the cheapest Zip Clip since the older products always fall in the price.

See a SanDisk has not officially announced anything yet, I ask your advice. Just buy or wait a week or 2?

    Edit:

The image of facebook hype has already posted by them in April as well. https://www.Facebook.com/photo.php?fBid=10150854375014453&set=a.10150176477564453.316366.9204649452&...

Download the zip file. You can probably pick one up cheap when Christmas rolls around. a 8 GB could go as low as $40 on a Black Friday sale. the link of the jpg is a picture from the clip + has been the 2nd clip of Gen. the zip is 3rd generation don't need to pick up a player gen next until it is capable-rockbox. SanDisk does not know be revolutionary/innovative for the next gen clip is probably not worth the wait. I hope that sandisk makes me eat my words and give us something really nice.

The Zip is nothing more than a Clip + with a slightly larger screen, the color. However, it is low-resolutionm making album art look grainy and nasty. Also, I don't like the layout of the buttons control (on the Zip) that extends all the way on the side of the unit which is must more easy to accidentally FF or REW in the middle of a track when simply catch or pick up the player. Adds that its AAC support is uncertain, at best, and I think the model is an alternative much better.

But you pouvez install Rockbox on both units securely. Do not pay attention to the nominal capacity of unstable on the Rockbox site. They expect just someone finish manual user until they can change to Stable. It won't help the screen low resolution or the layout of the buttons, but some actually prefer the Zip on the sign more.

Unless that SanDisk has changed their marketing and strategy plans to release a new player and more ready for the blitz of sales Q4, I doubt we will see an new MP3 of them this year.

  • 64 GB sandisk adapters does not work in the zip clip?

I bought the 64 Gb Sandisk Ultra adapters for my new sansa clip zip. I can put music on the card with the usb msc mode, but nothing appears in the menus, so I can't get music to play.

I tried rockbox firmware, but it did not help.

Can someone help me with my problem?

It's that I had to download a speacial program to format in FAT32. Now it works fine

  • Green screen on my zip clip

My new Clip Zip has a white screen bright green and no I push the button does not change this. I've turned off and powered in MSC mode, but it's the same thing. Can I make before returning the device?

You can try to reset or update/re-applying the firmware manually, but I don't stretch much hope. If it is brand new, I return it. You paid for a new working device. Didn't get what you paid for. Shouldn't have to 'fix' a new unit.

  • zip clip allowing only music, no radio/settings/map

    Hello

somewhat an unusual question I have, in the hope of getting resolved before sending this back mp3. So I got my sansa clip zip not too long, maybe 4-6 weeks. It worked without problem, really liked the radio option, which is held just enough music, etc., but very recently, he started acting. Let me point out its major problems:

-at startup, I am automatically taken to the previously played music screen (a title, artist and the progression of the track with album artwork or only background media). There is no option to select 'music' or 'radio '.

-the back"" button. the button that takes you to the previous screen, works as a button from the previous song (even more strange, if the music is stuck on pause, then I click on 'back' (try, of course, to get on the radio of the screen, or at least let me pick the song!) then it will find a new song and automatically start playing it.)

I'm stuck in this hell of the music that I can't control ~! Can anyone help? I know it's a very weird problem, not one alone that I found others know after browsing this site... I know that there is HOPE, because once I "format" "ed the drive when it was plugged in to the computer, and after that (removal of all my music), he took me to the home screen where I had access to radio, settings, etc. (and the back button actually took me to the previous screen: 0 ~!)" but after not too long (maybe half a day with the help of twice) when I pressed the power it took me directly on the screen during playback, without opportunity to get out.

any advice you all have would be wonderful! I really enjoy of this mp3 player outside this huge mess and don't want no return/exchange/get a new one, but on average, I need FM stations and I must be able to choose at least what I listen to the song. I hope someone here can help you! a thousand thanks!

Let's see if we can cure disorders of this little guy.  I see that you have formatted the device already.

The best thing to do is the first soft reset the unit in holding the power button for about 30 seconds, then release.  Connect the Zip file on the USB port.

Download and uncompress or unzip the firmware file from here.  Follow the instructions for installation of caraa , in the thread.

There is a difference here: don't worry about the part of USB mode, you can install the firmware in MSC or MTP mode.  If you are connected to the PSG. you will see no. letter attributed to the reader device, double-click the device, and then select the internal memory.

In both cases, drag and drop the clipza.bin file into the root directory of the device, and then disconnect.  The firmware will install automatically on logout.  I feel that the original firmware is damaged on your Zip.

Let us know how it goes, or post any questions you may have.  I'll be back in a little bit...

  • Record MXF MXF container clip

I'm finishing a 52-minute program, with 20 short sequences shot in ProRes 422 (50 Mbps) and stored in MXF OP1a file. The package looks good on the release in Blu - Ray, but I need output for broadcast and the broadcaster prefer MXF deliberables. My Question: Is there significant loss of quality by saving 20 (with dozens of clips ProRes) MXF files to a final MXF container?

    Thanks for your comments,

    -Jim

Good, then export the settings to use are

    • Format: MXF OP1a
    • Screening: XDCAMHD 50 NTSC 60i

But I think that this is not really the essence of your query. On the contrary, as I understand it, here is the workflow you describe:

    1. change a series of sequences of 1 to 2 minutes
    2. the export of each chapter for the above parameters
    3. return the resulting exports in the BODY
    4. collecting the chapters in any order
    5. export the big sequence in the same settings.

If I got that much right, then I would advise steps 2 & 3. Instead, nest the sequences of step 1 in a single sequence. This eliminates the generational degradation that worry you wisely.

Of course, if you want a standalone clip for each chapter, so go ahead and perform step 2. Just don't make a round trip on these outputs in the project for further editing.

  • question of zip clip on feedback tween noise songs

is there an obvious cause for a burst of feedback between some songs and not others.  It's the

first product of sansa, I had that seems to do that.  The sound is a short cry like a needle crossing

a disk, as loud as the volume of the music and perhaps a 10th of a second in duration. These are files that

were copied before on other players sansa and apple etc.

    Do a firmware update.

  • Am I duplicating music clip-zip when I download the entire file of MUSIC from Windows Media?

On my Zip Clip with a micro 32 card: using Windows Media, I downloaded my whole 'MUSIC' of the file to the device.   Now that I've added more music in my Windows Media MUSIC file, download the entire file again for "updating" of new music, than i've got, or will I be duplicating what was there before?

It seems terribly painful to have to selectively add new music, checking back & comes to see what is already uploaded on the Clip-Zip.

If you use the 'sync' feature in WMP, it will add only what is new or changed in your music on your computer folder. Note that this method is a double-edged sword; It will also remove all the files that you may have removed the record music from your computer. This is not a good thing.

  • Why is Clip Zip rename my folders and music files?

    Original Windows folder:

    Billboard Greatest Christmas Hits (1935-1954)

    Name of the Zip clip:

    09100000_Billboard more great Christmas

This occurs intermittently in many places.

1 copy the files and songs (mp3) directly on the device using Windows Explorer in Windows 7 Pro.

    2. check the folders and songs appear as they should (using Windows Explorer).

3 unplug the unit and let it cool off.

4 browse music on the device, and Note Renaming wandering some songs and records.

    5. reconnect the device to the computer via the USB port.

    6. check with the Windows Explorer that stray names are there as previously played on the device, and NOT what I put there.

    How to stop?

It is a Zip Sansa Clip 8 GB with a SanDisk 32 GB microSDHC Mobile extra card and using Windows 7 Pro.

Turn the player in MSC mode. It is in the Control Panel, USB mode.

  • Clip Zip ignores certain songs and blocks computer when disconnected

OK, I tried to find a solution to my problem but I've not seen everything that has been resolved or the same problem, I have.  I use a Windows 7 desktop computer and have a 4 GB Clip Zip purple.  My main problem is that the music I downloaded from eMusic and transferred through Windows Media Player. The songs will sometimes play on the Zip Clip.  I say sometimes because random entire albums or a song or two in an album will not play.  These are your Mbit/s MP3 files average 4-5 MB, 192, with no DRM.  Has anyone identified a solution?  I reformatted, reinstalled the firmware and done everything short of reformat the songs into something else.

In addition, from time to time if I disconnect the zip clip this computer freezes and I have to do a hard reboot.  Has anyone else encountered this problem?  I have to tell Windows to eject?

No worries, glad you got it running.  Sometimes, Windows Media Player may have problems with transfers.  Fortunately, it is not too often.  Use the MSC mode, you have the somplete of transfer control, and the device is seen by the computer as a mass storage device.  As long as your files have incorporated album covers, the Zip will use these images and everything will be fine.

MTP mode is a 'virtual' layer on MSC, where the player is addressed as a media device.  As a result, a lot of things is automated in the background.  Album art is sent to a special 'albums' folder and other information, such as sure clock and device Clip Zip ID are available for DRM purposes (multimedia protected) if necessary.  Oh, playlisting with .pla format lists is also possible - these lists are not specific to the path as MSC, which means that even if the file is located on the microSD card and records is not serious.

Windows Media Player is happy with two modes, by the way.

With the Zip Clip, the USB controller manages only one mode at a time to access.  It is probably the fancy that causes more confusion.  If you transfer a file in a mode, then go to the other, the files that you have transferred to the other mode will be not visible from the computer, even if the Zip Clip itself can see both.  For this reason, we recommend that people choose a mode and stick with it, so that you can access all of the computer.

Oh, one final thought-Yes, you can simply drag and drop your music files in the music folder, and the player will locate based on the ID3 tags (album / artist / genre / song).  For podcasts or audio books, you can drag the files in these folders, giving you additional functions for these files (elapsed time, the playback speed).
