.msi install without .cab file

I'm trying to silently install the Reader 9.4.0 with plans .msi file to get out for our desktop users. Unfortunately, I ran into an issue where I can only run it from the same directory where the file Data1.cab. I tried to modify the .msi with the Customization Wizard with no luck. Does anyone have an experience by pushing the file .msi for many users? If so, do you have tips on how to get around the problem of having to copy the .cab with it?

Thanks for the help!

Hello

Looks like you were using the AdbeRdr940_en_US.exe (from http://get.adobe.com/reader/) to install Adobe Reader 9.4.0. This EXE retrieves a MSI file with the .cab file and therefore the need to provide both during installation.

If you want to use just an MSI to settle over a company facility, please use the MSI drive from the following location:

FTP://FTP.Adobe.com/pub/Adobe/Reader/Win/9.x/9.4.0/en_US/AdbeRdr940_en_US.msi

This should solve your problem.

    Hey,.

I tried to update DirectX on my PC, it's a clean install of windows 7 with AVG 2011 installed. Winsows updates are set to automatic and Win7 is indicating that there is no update available for installation.

There is no problems with the installation of windows 7 and everything I've done so far has been very good. The disk of 64-bit windows 7 is OEM, but to my knowledge and the knowledge of suppliers, nothing has been changed for their release.

I know that I need the components of performance for games and some applications of directx9 so I went to microsofts website to download the latest DX runtime which is a web installer. On execution of the installer, I get an error message indicating "a necessary .cab file for installation cannot be trusted. • Error reading the RAR and Cab files to Samsung HD103SI 1 TB

Recently, I installed Win7 - 64 bit on a new Samsung HD103SI HD. However, I had the following problems:

1 unpacking everything .rar or cab file generates an arbitrary "Volume is corrupt error". I downloaded the same file several times and repaired with WinRar, but the error persists.

2 try to install any application or software (installation files run from the HARD drive or from a USB external), translated by Error1335 (cannot read disc source or other generic copy errors).

    3. I tried lowering the maximum memory of advanced boot, as well as the msiexec commands in the BACK, with no result. I also run Windows (for RAM) memory diagnostic in DOS mode, and did a full scan of all partitions of the HDD in Dos Mode (command/r). No problem not found in both cases. Also tried disabling firewall ESET and Windows, but mistakes always pop up.

    4. what actually WORKS is when I try to run the same files (which gave errors in the file corrupt) in safe mode. It installs (or decompress) without complaint.

However, I can't keep coming back in safe mode whenever I need to unpack / install something on my HARD drive.  Is it a driver problem or something else in conflict?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Since it runs from USB key then is sounds like a hard drive or a hard drive problem-
Check wiring (do not exclude what I saw wiring cause similar corruption
Questions). Run the diagnostic test of the constructor which is much more intense than chkdsk.

Language files are probably just the installation files in these languages. If you be now able to make an informed choice about whether if they can be deleted. I would say 'Yes', but the final decision is yours.

  • Corrupt CAB file

I am trying to install Windows Media Player 11 and make me an error message saing I have insufficient disk space to Exchange files or have a corrupted .cab file.  I don't have a problem with low disk space, so I think it has to do with the CAB file.  Also I am not able to install other programs beside the media player and need to update my drivers.  I am running Windows XP Home Edition.
It's the exact error I get installing Media Player
"Extraction of file failed. It is probably caused by low memory (low disk space for swap files) or corrupted Cabinet file. »

Navigate to the click on the right from my computer to the disc, and then select Properties tools.   Run scandisk and fix all errors.   Then run Defrag.

Then, if the source of Media Player is a DVD: wash the disc with warm water with a drop of washing dishes hand liwuid. Rinse with plenty of hot water and dry with a clean, lint cloth. If this is fropm a file DL, re - download.

    Restart and try again.

  • Can I delete my PC *.cab files?

I'm running out of space on my hard drive and noticed that a nice piece of memory is used for my cab files.  Some are installation of iTunes files, some files from Disk Cache in my i386 directory.

    Any thoughts?

How much is "a nice piece"?  Deleting files because you are low on hard disk space is a futile effort.  Buy a larger hard drive.  They are very cheap these days, and most come with a free software that allows you to clone your existing to the new disk drive.  If you can't at least temporarily to install a second drive in your computer, you can buy a cheap connected by USB (or eSATA if your computer supports) external hard drive enclosure.  When you are done with the cloning operation, you can use your old drive in the external box for backup.

    With regard to your questions:

Regarding the files related to iTunes, you can, as suggested by NoMo, ask an Apple forum.  Or you can identify exactly where these files are located, and what makes you think they are installation of iTunes files.  I have the remains of 7 or 8 latest installations of iTunes on my old XP machine, but no iTunes don't cab files.  Most probably, you can remove safely iTunes install files.  If it turns out that the files that you delete actually required by iTunes for execution, you can always download and install the latest version.

On the other hand, deleting files from the i386 is a bad idea, unless you have a genuine Windows XP installation CD.  If you're dead set on the removal of the files in this directory, I strongly suggest that you burn all the directory on a CD first.  Sometimes the files in c:\i386 (or C:\Windows\ServicePackFile\i386) are needed to replace a damaged operating system file.  It doesn't happen very often, but if this happens and you have deleted the files, you will be very unhappy.

  • How to do a clean install without CD?

My computer came with windows xp 2005. I want to do a clean install. I have the CD key, but the computer did not come with a CD. How do I install without the CD?

Your HP system very likely came with a utility partition that contains all the files needed to do a full restore of your system.  Try typing: F10 (when you start the machine).  Note, this will be on your old system wipe!  Read about it in the HP PC troubleshooting and maintenance Guide (page 18).

In addition, it is software recovery in Start menu-> all programs-> Accessories-> System Tools menu that allows you to create your own recovery media (it took 2 DVD-R or CD-12 r (not DVD - RW or CD - RW!) on the HP here).  Your system allows you to create these discs when you first started has very probably prompted... Everyone should make these records.  You can't recover from a failure of the hard drive without them.  HP help files were very informative and comprehensive, too.  Finding help for recovery.

After you create the disks and restore your system (be it with F10 or by using the disks that you created), you must go to the HP Support website for your system and download updates and drivers updated.  (I have not found an a1520n but I found a Pavilion Media Center a1520y CTO desktop PC.)

And when it is earned, as Daavee has suggested credit, it would be really wise to save all your settings and your documents.  (It's what skip drivers were made for...)

  • Upgrade to windows 10 on a new SSD without losing files

    Hello

So I have here is my situation:

-A got a new SSD, makes my old hard drive in an external.
-Already installed on my new SSD of things, and my old HD has everything on my old computer.

So I would like to know if I could:

-install the windows 10 update on my old HD, without calling on my old computer.
-install the new windows 10 (not the upgrade but after I installed on my old HD), on my new SSD without losing files and programs already on it.

    That's all, thank you

I explained to him that you can store everything, including the image on the hard drive, then return it to the outer shell to start the imaging boot disk to apply the image to the SSD.

However if you do not want to remove the SSD, it is possible using startup disk Macrium made on another PC to boot the PC with attached externally, save the image partition system and the OS on another partition (shrunk if necessary c using The Partition Wizard CD boot), transfer the data to the SSD and then apply the image to the SSD after the removal of its partition using Macrium or Partition Wizard.
