  b. Type "regedit" and click ok.
  (c) in the registry editor, navigate to:

  d. under 'PerPassportSettings', you can have multiple entries with the numbers representing each Live account, with which you are logged in. Each (or if you have only one), expand the numbered key and search for the string 'UTL '. Delete the value in the 'UTL '.
   
  After eliminating the value of UTL of each passport, your Windows Live Messenger should open without crashing.

• Install updates, when I restart all my apps stopped working the laptop?

  I had turn automatic updates off the coast of more than 6 months because of complications with an installed update, after it installed I turned on my laptop and view error started to appear for all! Internet Explorer had stopped working, msn direct ceased to adobe flash player had stopped the list goes!  I don't know yet so far is that I had a few ready to install, I had to do a system restore to use my laptop properly! Any ideas on wht, has happened and what I can do about it, I have currently 70 updates waiting to be installed, I need this sorting asap!  all ideas welcome

  Method 1:

  1. download the stand-alone package with four updates at a time. You can download the stand-alone version of the link with the number of KB below:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads and check if the problem is resolved.

  2. start the clean boot computer and try to install the updates manually. Link below will help you to start the computer in clean boot:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

  Make sure that you reset the computer in normal mode (you can see step 7)

  Try this:

  1 - click on RUN from START menu and type REGEDIT:

  2 - follow path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/MSNMessenger/PerPassportSettings.

  3. under PerPassportSettings, you will find 2 folders named with a series of numbers. Delete the two folders including their subfolders... and restart MSN.

  3. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

  4. you have any WebRoot program?

  The process WRConsumerService belongs to the software Spy Sweeper or Webroot AntiVirus with or Webroot Internet Security or Webroot AntiVirus with Spy or Webroot Software or Spy Sweeper for MSN or Core of Spy Sweeper from Webroot Software (www.webroot.com). I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

  Method 1:

  If you use one of the products associated with Webroot software, try to uninstall and check if it works.
