  I have exactly the same problem with Toshiba Video Player. I have downloaded the drivers and tried to install it again, but I get error saying that I don't have the video player in my PC. Of course, I don't have it, I uninstalled it just following the instructions of the gas station.

  If you have the binary file, then you just extract it in / opt, however, you can add repositories of package which is the cleanest most built-in way to do.   You can't install fonts.  This isn't a feature of iOS.

  I guess you have a Toshiba Recovery disk.
  If you want to retrieve the OS installed by Toshiba, then you need to use the Toshiba Recovery for recovery disk.

  You will not lose anything, but the app if you uninstall. If you decide to uninstall use this app to make sure that all the other files which depends on FCE are also deleted however I can't give you any assurance as to whether you will be able to reinstall so that it works correctly. It is a software that has not been supported for almost 5 years and there are conflicting reports as to its compatibility with OS X 10.11. Can't I test it myself.

  Maybe someone else will chime in with their own experiences.
