Multi line Bookmarks Toolbar for 4.0 ~ Whither?

Not a big fan of 4.0. Smells like Chrome.

2 questions, if you would be so kind...

1 ~ How can I get this list button dropdown handy bookmark on my main toolbar? It is not in the AddOns.

2 ~ the Extension of MultiRow bookmarks toolbar? A big reason, that I am not the Chrome is because I can have so many lines I need. Get the feature suddenly and brutally throw with the 'UpGrade' was not appreciated.

FireFox has been magnificent, and I turned on a lot of people in it, very happy to help them escape to explore the land fallow.

But I have to be honest: if I'm going to have to deal with an InterFace of chrome, anyway, I'll take another look.

Thank you for your time.

Somewhere in the thread following MozillaZine, the developer of Multirow Bookmarks Toolbar, Alice White, apparently said that she is no longer will continue to develop this extension. However, the first post on the link (page 24 of this thread) shows a way to get the same effect using the stylish extension

You can bookmark this thread and keep checking back to see if the developer changes his mind because of demand or contributions to his effort.

    There may be a problem with one of the files which stores details of the installed extensions. Try to delete these files as described in the section "Corrupt extension files" of this link - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons

    Although this article is not specifically about your problem, the method indicated in the corrupted files extension section can help. When you restart Firefox after you delete these files, the list of installed extensions is rebuilt and cela hopefully solve your problem.

  • How to get back my multi-line bookmarks?

    I used to have more than 1 line of bookmark and now after the reset I'm back to 1. I can't find information that tells how to add another line of bookmarks in.

    Try with Addons

  • Bookmarks toolbar shows all items

    I just installed 7.0.1 (I can't call it an upgrade).
    I can no longer see all the entries in my Bookmarks Toolbar for 2 reasons: -.
    1. It includes useless icons coming take place.
    2. There's a "Bookmarks" tab which I don't want, but can not remove. Simply place. I rarely, if ever, use bookmarks because I have everything I use in folders in the bookmarks toolbar.

    How do I remove these unwanted items?

    Add code to userChrome.css in the chrome folder under the threshold of @namespace.

    You can use the ChromEdit Plus extension or elegant for easier access to the customization files.

    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

    #personal-bookmarks .bookmark-item[container]:not([livemark]):not([query]) .toolbarbutton-icon,
    #personal-bookmarks .bookmark-item:not([container]) .toolbarbutton-icon{
    display:none!important;
    }
  • I can't add bookmarks to the bookmarks toolbar - get a circle with a line though it.

    Updated for Firefox 13... She has not any of the previous version went to build a new bookmarks toolbar and when I tried to drag an item from the Web site to the toolbar (as I used to be able to do easily in the previous version) I had a circle with a line through it - which basically said sorry you can do. Backgraded to 12 Version and I have the same problem. I don't have any extensions running. The bookmarks bar is checked (forthcoming) and there is an empty up there... just cannot add anything to it. Any suggestions on what I may be missing would be appreciated. I wouldn't give up this late date on Firefox. Thank you!

    Well, I'm embarrassed to admit that I followed all of your suggestions with little chance... but then I started to 'pitch and putt' with practically everything what they allowed me to view and customize both and to the high jump bar Bookmarks imported when I've updated - but was not showing... I suspect it was the thing to restore default setting that worked at one point. (I'm definitely NOT a geek as you might have guessed.) But what worries me is that I don't really know what I did, and if I go on another machine and have the same problem I'm going to start on (but knowing that I CAN fix it if I'm persistent). Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm back with Firefox again.

  • How do I make the smaller address bar so I can get all my favorites next to her, thus avoiding the need for the bookmarks toolbar?

    As the title suggests, would like to have more space for my beloved booksmarks. A bit how you can do the "search bar" more great compared to the address bar.
    Feel free to ask away if I did not myself clear. We hope to get help quickly. BTW, like the browser.

    You can try adding this code in the userChrome.css file.

    Add code to the file userChrome.css below default @namespace.

    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

    #nav-bar-customization-target > #personal-bookmarks {-moz-box-flex:1!important;}

    The file userChrome.css (UI) customization and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the folder of chrome in the Firefox profile folder.

  • in 22 and 23.0 upgrate him disappears from the bookmarks toolbar and after crash firefox does not allow for recovery

    I hate this new update. I basically can't use the browser more. I only need firefox to do things properly, but if she cannot do these things I can't use it

    1. If firefox crashes (it does every 30 minutes it completely closed), then I need to be able to restore / recover all previously open windows when I start it back up again. There is no more.

    2. I use the bookmarks toolbar all the time, but often it appears completely blank. So now, the only way I can see bookmarks is if I go to options and uncheck bookmarks toolbar option and reselect then toolbar of bookmarks.

    It's so frustrating and worse still make you sure you can't do restorations! It of insulting and makes me want to not use your browser. A browser is a tool not criticizing a toy, but you guys will not stop playing with it.

    Also, older versions of the extension, meet bugs, you can refresh by using:

    Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons > "gear" button > "Check for Updates".

    For example, GM 1.5 (November 2012) vs GM 1.11 (July 2013).

  • Can I add a drop-down list for the bookmarks toolbar?

    I would like to have a series of categories of bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbar. Let's say a button called "Household" could have a menu drop down menu links to my sites popular for "Home repair," 'Kitchen', 'Furniture finish', etc.

    And maybe another button may be labeled "Science" and its menu drop-down can contain links to 'Environment', 'Medicine', 'Space', 'Geology', etc.

    And to be really good, each subcategory could have subcategories beneath them.

    Create nested folders (folders in folders) on the bookmarks toolbar. You can also do the same thing in the Menu bookmark instead of bookmarks toolbar.

    1. Right-click on the bookmarks toolbar and choose 'new folder '; Name this folder cleaning
    2. Right-click on the case in the toolbar bookmarks for each subfolder you want under household and choose "new folder"; Name these folders (i.e., home repair, kitchen, furniture, etc.)
    3. Drag or create bookmarks in each of these appropriate subfolders to the name of the subfolder.

    Repeat the above for another folder/sub-sub-sub-folders (i.e., Science folder under folders, geology, environment, medicine, space, etc.).

  • I have used Firefox for about 8 years and yesterday lost my bookmarks toolbar. Any suggestions? Yet the bookmarks and it still seems in sight.

    I have used Firefox for about 8 years or since first of all, it has been developed and I love it! I especially love the personal bar and he used all these years without any problems. Yesterday, I lost somehow the bookmarks toolbar. It is still listed under view in the Menu. When I check, besides, that area expands a little and when I uncheck the box decreases a little. All my favorites are still there, but not the toolbar. I tried everything I know to try. I uninstalled and downloaded Firefox again and reinstalled. I have restarted my computer several times. I tried dragging the new bookmarks in the toolbar of the address of the site area. Nothing works. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what can be the cause and have a solution? I HATE that, without this toolbar. Thanks in advance!

    If the menu bar is hidden, then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key to make the call of menu bar.

    Make sure the toolbars like the toolbar 'Navigation' and the 'personal bar' are visible: "view > toolbars".

    • Open the Customize via "view > toolbars > customize.
    • Make sure the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" are on the personal bar
    • If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the bookmarks toolbar, then FRY it in the toolbar palette in the window the bookmarks toolbar Customize
    • If the missing elements are in the toolbar palette then drag them from the window, customize the toolbar
    • If you do not see an item on a toolbar in the toolbar palette and then click the button "Restore default" to restore the default toolbar set up
  • After CTRL + N for the new window, bookmarks toolbar disappears in the new window

    When I have a completely, properly functioning window with tabs running with the bookmarks toolbar visible and then I use CTRL + N to open a new window, the 2nd window does not display the bookmarks toolbar.

    When I go to view > toolbars, toolbar bookmarks show a cheque. He is not here in the new window, but in the first window. Looks like a bug caused by CTRL + N?

    It is repeatable and it happened several times. I 12.0, but this has happened with other versions of Firefox as well.

    In safe mode, the toolbar was not visible but I checked "View Bookmarks ToolBar" right below the search window, and now when I run Firefox in normal mode, the behavior has stopped.

    I tried to open several new windows, with a lot of tabs in all first, and the bookmarks toolbar is now displayed when it is supposed to.

    Thanks for the suggestion. I guess that's now resolved?

  • How do you FF show several lines when it comes to the bookmarks toolbar?

    Hello, I'm doing my bookmarks toolbar to display my favicons and multiline text, I tried to find an add-on to help me out, but without success. Please help, I'm losing my mind so to speak...

    It could do the job, but he gets negative comments-

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/Multirow-Bookmarks-toolbarplus/

    For you and a wider audience - I guess you know to keep the bookmarks toolbar on the right side of the page - accessible through the rafters (double arrowheads) at the end of the toolbar.

    You can abbreviate the text up nothing via 'Properties' and you can eliminate icons via an add-on of - de-iconise.

  • How, please, can I get rid of the icons in the bookmarks toolbar so I have space for several names of bookmarks? Thank you

    I try to get as many items as possible on the bookmarks menu bar (usually via 3 letter names). F4 adds an icon next to each name - occupy unnecessary space. How, please, can I get rid of the icons in the bookmarks toolbar so I have space for several names of bookmarks? Thank you.

    Well not much description required in this case. I was using firefox for the first time on a mac and so was trying new things with this version of firefox. Just got stuck with these separators xtra... Can't find a way to get them off of my bookmarks toolbar...

    You can open the Bookmark Manager (Bookmarks > show all bookmarks) and go to the Favorites bar folder in the left pane.
    You can then remove the separators in the right pane.

  • Problems with showing bookmarks toolbar items / Rendering

    Greetings,

    I think I met a little UI problem. I'd really like a bookmark that is placed on the same line as the address bar - it would be so convenient! But unfortunately it seems not be display correctly.

    Customize mode, I tried dragging the "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" in various places: before the back button, after the search box, among other buttons, etc.

    It is placed properly in mode to customize, but after clicking on 'Customize output', the bookmarks toolbar items almost always are not displayed correctly. Sometimes I see a lot of emptiness with the narrow vertical button I can click for a drop-down list of my favorites, and sometimes I see is a bunch of blank period. Once and a while if I play with the order in which I move and add buttons to the top bar, I can get the bookmarks toolbar items to render correctly for a bit, but he soon pips again.

    Add code to the file userChrome.css below default @namespace.

    @namespace url("https://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

    #nav-bar-customization-target > #personal-bookmarks { -moz-box-flex:1 !important; }

    The file userChrome.css (UI) customization and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the folder of chrome in the Firefox profile folder.

    You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

    • Create the folder chrome (lowercase) in the .default < xxxxxxxx > profile folder if the folder does not exist
    • Use a text editor like Notepad to create a userChrome.css (new) file in the folder chrome (file name is case sensitive)
    • Paste the code in the userChrome.css file in the Editor window
    • Make sure that the userChrome.css file starts with the default @namespace line
    • Make sure that you select "All files" and not "text files" when you save the file via "save file as" in the text editor as userChrome.css.
      Otherwise, Windows can add a hidden .txt file extension and you end up with one does not not userChrome.css.txt file
