Multi-router multi-homing with PfR

I am trying to set up a connection to edge where we are served by two Internet service providers, each connected to an independent router in our site (i.e. ISP-1 connects to R-1, and PSI-2 connects to R - 2).  We eBGP peer tables full with each ISP and have active HSRP on the internal R-1 & R-2 interfaces.  I want to configure PfR so that R-1 & R-2 is the border units and PfR creates a consumption semi balanced links to the ISP - 1 & PSI-2.  Below is the configuration that I'm imagining.

What I am unsure of is how to get my firewall to take advantage of the PfR without having to extend the iBGP in the firewall (and I do not want to link the resources of the firewall with a table full of BGP to each of the ISP).  Can I put the firewall with a next hop by default 192.206.43.1 (HSRP address) and let communicate with any router is active, and then this router can kick to the other edge router if the injection of LICs show a better way?  Each of our uplinks running 100 M while the transfer area is 1 G; in my mind this means there will be plenty of room for routers to jump next to each other on the transfer area and still draw full ISP speed...

At the end of the day, I want just normal operations to use the two Internet service providers (doesn't have to be a balance perfect load 50-50, I don't want to pay for a link that is still inactive when I could use it to effectively double our available bandwidth).  And for a failure of an ISP to handle passing all traffic through the ISP which is still in place.

Note: IP addresses and THAT the numbers have been changed.  Although these good numbers, they do not represent my organization it.

To do this, here are the configurations that I look at.

Hello

I have not implemented PFR in a network of practice so I answer your question since no one else did.

If you don't need a very high level of load sharing, there are other easy ways to achieve this. PFR needs a lot of tuning; However, your configuration shows only the default settings. (you must enable learning about master also).

As for ASA, ASA does not support the PFR, so you have to find another way to use the link between the ASA and your border routers. Border routers will manage the load sharing your ISP based on your topology.

Only a suggestion. Add an additional link between your border routers to connect IBGP to avoid receiving the traffic by your ASA l2. Because ASA sends traffic to the edge router for example 1 and edge router 1 can send router 2 via the same link limit, she received traffic.

Please see the link below for more information tuning.

https://aitaseller.WordPress.com/2012/10/15/PFR-Cisco-performance-routing/

much more simple method in load sharing can be made preferably local BGP, if you find the PFR difficult to implement.

It will be useful,

Masoud

    Hi all

I recently recorded a production of theatre and because of some limitations of record on some camera, I've seen camera that is non-stop, and three others who cut inside and out for the big musical numbers or great moments, etc. Is it possible to create a view of multi-camera with multiple views, I, because none of them share a common point of synchronization? Is it possible to set multiple synchronization points and label all so that they can synchronize correctly? I'm sorry if it's very confusing! Thank you very much.

A procedure with several out parameters is called.

    For example

I got a modem Comcast/Xfinity upgrade. Xfinity X 1 modem/router is compatible with the Airport Extreme? How it should be configured to maintain my wireless network?

Whenever you change the modem or modem/router on a network, AirPort Extreme will be reset to the default settings and then set it up again to work properly with the new modem. For this he would be...

Turn on AirPort Extreme for a few minutes... If it is not already turned on

Hold in the reset button on the back of the AirPort Extreme for 7-8 seconds, then release it.

Allow a minute for the AirPort Extreme restart to a slow, flashing amber light status

Make sure that an Ethernet cable connects to one of the four LAN <-->Ethernet ports on the modem/router on port WAN "O" on AirPort Extreme

To start the Setup program, click the WiFi icon at the top of the screen on your Mac and are looking for a list of the new AirPort base station

Just below that, click directly on the AirPort Extreme and then follow the prompts for configuration "Wizard".

When you configure AirPort Extreme once again, you can use the same wireless network name and the same password that you used with AirPort Extreme with the 'old' modem, if you wish, or use a new wireless network name and password

  • E2500 router communicates only with HP printer cable.

I have a HP color LaserJet 2605dn printer and router e2500. I decided to run an Ethernet cable from the router to the printer instead of via the USB port of the laptop that works fine for a couple of years.

Is the green light on the router would be flashing quick or light yellow on the printer. Guess there is a communication problem. After some reading material at random on Web sites and messages, I manually changed the IP address of the printer: 192.168.1.110 (that is outside the range of the DHCP users (6) quantity, which starts at 192.168.1.100)

Leave the configuration window Panel > devices Printers & I added a new "Standard TCP/IP Port" to match the one I put manually (192.168.1.110).

I varied results when I ping this new IP address while that the yellow light on the Ethernet port on the printer flashes quickly. Sometimes I will have 4 packets that have been sent in the ping also received, sometimes none are received, sometimes 1 and sometimes 2 packets are received. For example, ping results are contradictory and I don't know why that should be.

I guess that none of my configurations 'Basic Wireless Settings' and "Wireless Security" have an impact here. After all, I'm trying only to communicate with my printer wirelessly via my laptop to the printer via a network cable. Also, I'm not a very technical person. I managed to get this far, but I'm at a loss for what keeps my router to communicate with the printer of mine. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Using the printer management page, make sure you on the JetDirect Automatic for networking information. If your automatic support of networking, it must acquire an IP address from the router if the LAN cable is in good working condition. Make a print on the printer configuration page to see what IP address it acquired from the router.

If you decide you want to put a static IP address on the printer, make sure you on the JetDirect information
Manual and instead use 192.168.1.110 tends in the poole DHCP address, try using 192.168.1.26. You will need configure the printer driver in windows accordingly to point to the IP address.

  • Need to know if my router is compatible with windows 7

The microsoft Web site seems to send me in circles and it drives me crazy! What I want to know is if my wireless method NB9W router is compatible with windows 7 or not...

It is a work laptop and our COMPUTER technician has not set. I can connect to the network wirelessly at work, but not my own wireless network at home. I read that some 'old' routers are not compatible with windows 7.

I can't find any info on my model of router on the microsoft Web site. Help please!

    Hello

Collate support method because it might be and need the firmware, for example.

Using WPA or WPA2 (and not WEP) security? The value WPA or WPA2.

    NB9W

This implies that it is Windows 7 compatible (might still need the firmware)

It can be configured to not work on networks other than at work, have your tried on
other networks in addition to work and home?

    I hope this helps.

  • Multi camera with DSC-HX400V?

Hi, someone at - he tried the device with the Sony HX400V multi function or is not possible to agree with the two devices?

No problem. It was my fault because I did not try all angles, I had to touch the Z3 at the HX400 exactly. So I thought that there a little spinning remote because the camcorder connects if I hold the Z3 just near the NFC tag. -.

  • Deactivation of gestures on Windows 8, resizing specifically Multi screen with 2 fingers

Is there a way to disable a gesture several advanced in Windows 8?   Specifically, I'm trying to disable or reduce the sensitivity of the screen resizing gesture.  My son has small hands, and even when it is just by pointing the touchscreen picks up his other fingers like a multi-gesture and the size of screen shots in all directions.

He likes using ABCMouse.Com and Windows 8 with touch brings a new level of interaction of this educational site, but its basically useless resizing issue.

    Thanks for the tips.

Try going to control panel > mouse > device settings > settings.

Simply, it worked for me. Hope this helps you
  • See 4.5 true multi-monitor with RDP7?

I read this in the guide of the administrator on the page 17: ' Microsoft RDP provides the following features: you can use more than one monitor in span mode '

    and this page 21:

In a real session of multiple monitors, monitors can have sizes and different resolutions, and a monitor can be

has rotated. If you enlarge within an application window, the window expands to the full-screen only the monitor

    that contains it.

This feature has the following limitations:

n the maximum number of monitors that lets you view a desktop is 10 If you are using the RDP Protocol

view the Protocol and 4 If you are using PCoIP.

n If you are using the Microsoft RDP display protocol, you must have Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection (RDC)

version 6.0 or later installed in the desktop view.

I'm not completely sure if I read this right, but it seems that true multimonitor is NOT available with RDP. Even if Windows 7 and the last DRC have no problem with that at all. Can someone confirm (or reject if all goes well) that this is the case. I really prefer to use RDP, but I need the true multi-monitor.

    Kind regards

    Poort443

You need on the client, you connect from version 7.  Version 7 comes with Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2.  You can download version 7 for XP and Vista.

I wish version Mac was up to 7 and I wish THAT WYSE would improve their RDP to 7.

  • Multi monitor with RDP?

I read that PCoIP supports up to four monitors. It also works with RDP? I intend to use Windows 7 and RDP7 stand. I don't mean the duration of feature, but the 'real' multi taken in charge of monitoring. Thank you.

Good RDP 7 supports multimon. With some limitations however still. Such as AERO. You will need a RDP7 to Win7 backend as you described. View currently does not support RDP7, so you will not be able to operate but in the future when possible.

  • M401dw multi-homed Laserjet Pro 400

This unit has two NICs installed, wired, one wireless.

Is it possible to set up on two separate subnets? And if so, to have two separate security for the web management interface configurations, such as activated a network card disabled on the other.

    Scenario:

This device will be used (I hope) both internal (NIC1) and guest (WiFi) networks for occasional printing of conference rooms.

There is no communication cross between networks as they are completely separated which makes a network routing print jobs to another is impossible.

    Printing environment:

Local: Printing Services Windows Server 2008, for Windows only on x 64 / x 86

Comments: IPP for Windows 2003 print server for Windows/Mac, Airprint for iOS devices

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I'm afraid this is not possible.

The printer can eitehr use wired ethernet or wireless connection to an Ethernet card disables the use wireless and the unit cannot be connected to two different networks at the same time...

You can connect with an ethernet card and activate the direct wireless feature which must not come into conflict with each other as far as I'm aware (at least he can work together for the consumption patterns), so you can connect a device to the wireless network without direct and impression is the narrower scenario, I see...

Direct wireless can be enabled in the network setup > wireless settings live.

    Hope that helps,

    Shlomi
