See 4.5 true multi-monitor with RDP7?

I read this in the guide of the administrator on the page 17: ' Microsoft RDP provides the following features: you can use more than one monitor in span mode '

and this page 21:

In a real session of multiple monitors, monitors can have sizes and different resolutions, and a monitor can be

has rotated. If you enlarge within an application window, the window expands to the full-screen only the monitor

that contains it.

This feature has the following limitations:

n the maximum number of monitors that lets you view a desktop is 10 If you are using the RDP Protocol

view the Protocol and 4 If you are using PCoIP.

n If you are using the Microsoft RDP display protocol, you must have Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection (RDC)

version 6.0 or later installed in the desktop view.

I'm not completely sure if I read this right, but it seems that true multimonitor is NOT available with RDP. Even if Windows 7 and the last DRC have no problem with that at all. Can someone confirm (or reject if all goes well) that this is the case. I really prefer to use RDP, but I need the true multi-monitor.

Kind regards

Poort443

You need on the client, you connect from version 7.  Version 7 comes with Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2.  You can download version 7 for XP and Vista.

I wish version Mac was up to 7 and I wish THAT WYSE would improve their RDP to 7.

I read that PCoIP supports up to four monitors. It also works with RDP? I intend to use Windows 7 and RDP7 stand. I don't mean the duration of feature, but the 'real' multi taken in charge of monitoring. Thank you.

Good RDP 7 supports multimon. With some limitations however still. Such as AERO. You will need a RDP7 to Win7 backend as you described. View currently does not support RDP7, so you will not be able to operate but in the future when possible.

  • Multi-monitor X201T with ban question

    Hi guys.

My Dell U2410 monitor will not always be well behave on the displayport.  Sometimes the monitor goes into power saving mode - when you try to activate after docking.  No doubt he did this because of some kind of timeout - if it does not start when the displayport is enabled in a few time, the thinkpad see no usable display and it stops.

I tried the video drivers of Lenovo System Update, as well as those coming from Microsoft Windows Update (who are a little older).  I get the same behavior.  The VGA connection for the same works big monitor and I who would use except she has a very significant reduction in Visual quality to this resolution, and I need both the harbour VGA and displayport simultaneously as the Tablet pushes the two monitors on the dock.

    I run Windows 7 x 64.

I installed the operating system from scratch, and I took care to follow the instructions in "installing OS from scratch" Lenovo on their Web site.  Entirely, I realize that the order of the driver and the software install issues with Thinkvantage stuff.

I do IT doesn't work and I have deployed a lot of laptops Lenovo to employees over the years.  I don't think it's something I am doing wrong, but you never know!

Just to see if it was a problem with my windows install, I reinstalled Windows yesterday, and I get the same behavior.

I also get this weirdness with the T500, R500, W500 on the U2410... it was the only way that I've had time to get a passive DP to DVI, use the DVI port instead of the DP port on the monitor.

  • 4 monitors with X 220?

Yes, Yes, I know.  But it seems that the new X 220 will be robust enough and even if it is the bridge of the integrated graphics, sand looks promising.

The configuration of my favorite would be to use ports, displayport and vga on the ban for two of the monitors, and then two more connected by USB using a device such as the EVGA UV more (which as I understand it uses a compression chip to deliver graphics by USB but still used the computer resources to treat the graphics).

Another possibility, if necessary, would be to connect an external PCIe ExpressCard port hunts and use an external graphics card true.

All monitors are 1920 x 1080.  I will not use productivity applications, except that I can play full-motion video on one of the external monitors (which I'll plug on the displayport).

So am I on crack?  When you set up the laptop, what is more important to max out?  RAM?  Processor?  The two equally important?

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Thoughts of display technology:

The displayport interface is supposed to offer the support of multiple monitors by itself with an adapter. Look at the displayport technology and see if it will work for you. I had trouble finding monitors with displayport well. I think that a group of suppliers have agreed to remove the VGA port in the future. You should probably look into that as well.

    Choice of hardware warranty thoughts:

One thing to remember, the Lenovo warranty applies only to Lenovo hardware purchase or authorized retailer. Parts such as memory, hard drives, wifi cards, etc... (guaranteed batteries are a special case). Certainly, some companies hard drive offers its own guaranteed, and it may be the case even for memory as well. Just be careful to not voiding your warranty of Lenovo computer if you decide to tinker with after purchase.

    Intel HD Graphics thoughts:

According to a 220 video x, the second generation, I have carrots is supposed to be twice as fast graphics wise like the first generation I have carrots. Unfortunately, I don't have a second generation, I have Core x 220 mobile, but I have a first generatrion I top level x 201 Core i7 - 620 M (). Netflix HD Streaming works well at 1080 p on a 60 Hz. DVD screen and BluRays are working well to 1080 p on a 60 Hz. display HD Cameras are good as well that Microsoft has finally fixed mine. With a few new games, the x 201 is a little bit short meeting that minimum listing some on high end games. I don't see a problem with graphically work art packages. Video editing and programming of business applications should not be a problem either. Presentations on the VGA port with some projectors may have some problems. Give yourself pletty of the time of the installation if you have not used the front projector. The spotlight will not be a problem with the x 220.

    Thoughts of discrete graphics:

I think that high-end desktop graphics are crazy and ridiculous now. Consumption requirements is like having two separate computers. Do not forget, that most of the highend stuff takes two LONG slits of a desktop machine. There are liquid cooled by a slot options, but mainly things like using too much power. That apply to your laptop, and you'd probably need to carry a car battery to do the job. The 220 x is not a portable game uber kind of stuff requires a lot more circuits and cooling systems. The 220 x is in the ultraportable category.

    Thoughts of operating system:

I think that Windows 8 may be available next year some time. It is supposed to support chips ARM based in addition to what we have now. Looks like a hairball 32-bit, 64-bit and now ARM.

    Thoughts of external Port:

Port Thunderbolt Intel looks like a winner for external speed in the future. Port Thunderbolt Intel is assumed initially twice as fast in the Port of USB 3.0 and increase from there in the future. Maybe a 221 x would get the Port Thunderbolt Intel in the future, but I don't know about it.

    Other ideas of calculation:

Waiting always seems to give a better option for the calculation, but then again your not to make any progress in the meantime. I just helped my mother buy a Thinkpad Edge of a store selling retail knowing that the second generation I have carrots go roll. She had to get up to speed on Thinkpad T43 was just too slow and the CPU fan was wrong. The computer on which she had lived a hard life for several years. I know how she uses the computer and 2 x improved graphic speed would not really important to her. She made a bargain for $750, and it is easier to transfer his stuff with two work computers.

    Overall thoughts:

If you're going to order CTO, Max the processor, memory and hard disk preferences. Examine the wireless options, Intel wireless display seems to fancy and Nice, but if you don't use it, there is not much value until sell you it to someone who does not want to use it. Close look at the CPU options as well, if you are running the virtual machine software, you can see Intel Ark pages to get the right CPU. If you want to run the drive encryption, Intel Ark may be useful for this page as well. Large amounts of RAM means that you could probably ditch the Windows 7 pagefile on the hard drive. I don't have a Windows 7 pagefile on my machine, and I do not miss. I don't think that the new battery slice that snaps at the bottom of the laptop will spread for the 220 x. Most probably the normal battery or one extended would be preferable. A docking station is pretty painless and works well for me. Still, I haven't that K 1 Blu - Ray recorder so.

Have fun and don't forget of the availability of the online chat with sales or the number of phone sales as well.

  • Multi-monitor 7 VMWare Fusion is improved from 6?

    Hello VMWare,

Currently if you google "VMware Fusion 7 multi-monitor Support" this thread is the best result:

    https://communities.VMware.com/thread/458878?start=0 & tstart = 0

In this thread, the top answer is a VMWare employee is studying ways to improve multi-monitor support VMWare Fusion. It's been a year, and you have now unlocked a new major version, to what you ask me to pay to upgrade.  I guess that these issues have been addressed, but I see no reference to improvements in this regard on the VMWare Fusion 7 product pages.

Can you please address the following two questions, which are massive trouble when using Fusion 6 (and I want to emphasize, nor issue seems to affect your competing product Parallels):

    1. If you have more than two monitors (three for example), can you use Fusion 7 full screen but use only 2 screens instead of the 3? In fusion 6, you can use one or ALL, I really hope that this behavior is changed.
    2. When you use a display fullscreen VM on several monitors with the new behavior of multiscreen fullscreen introduced in Mavericks, can you change the space of one of your monitors away from the virtual machine and then on another monitor always displays the virtual machine, interact with the virtual machine without the spaces on your other monitors to return to space the VM?

If you can confirm that the issues have been addressed, I fortunately modernize today.  If not, you clearly that this support is a reason some not a priority for VMWare and I go to Parallels, after buying the latest 3 versions of VMWare and be a happy customer otherwise.

    Thank you for your answer!

They do not react because the answer is that they did not have * nothing * to improve their software in this regard.

You better buy Parallels, making these two things well.  Even if the product windows VMWare offers this kind of behavior of multi-monitor, they are apparently not interested in doing the same thing on their OS X product.  I'm not interested in waiting around for them to recognize it as a priority, so I switched to Parallels.

  • Use multiple monitors with Client view

    Hello

Quick question regarding the use of multiple monitors when connecting via the customer to view. I have many users using a monitor with a zero multi configuration client and everything works as expected. When connecting via customer discovered however the Office extends on (i.e. Outlook stretches on left and right screens) two monitors instead of 'renewal' (i.e. the prospects on the left monitor, acrobat opens on the right). Everyone is aware of a fix for this?

    Thanks in advance.

    See you soon.

Are you sure that you are using PCoIP?  View what version do you use?  Which version of the Client that you are using a view?

  • Multi-monitor (PCoIP) and Windows 7

    Greetings,

We try to test 2 months see 4 but one of the problems is that when trying to connect to a virtual from Windows 7 computer in mode multiscreen we get just black 2 screens and after a few seconds that it disconnects and View Client closes.

Anyone who manages to get multi-screen working for Windows 7 clients? I tried to increase the memory to 128 MB vram.

Multimonitor works without any problem when you connect to a Windows XP client.

    Thanks in advance,

    Bram

I had exactly the same problem and it is resolved.  You can read the complete demo that I did here:

    http://communities.VMware.com/blogs/gunnarb/2010/01/26/PCoIP-review

However, the quick answer is: uninstall vmware tools, uninstall agent from view of the guest operating system.  Reinstall the tools then agent.  See if you can connect to the base image (we're not done linked clones).  Also, everything I care at this point is that you get a single monitor to work.

Once you can connect to Windows 7 with a single monitor, go into Device Manager to uninstall your graphics driver and replace this drive with the driver found SVGA C:\program files\common files\vmware\drivers do not use the pilot of MCDA.  With the SVGA driver in place, you will get multi-monitor support.  Also it will fix the annoying UAC question and issues of screen saver.

A problem with this solution is that it is not supported and has experienced problems with BSOD, but you get a multi-monitor VM work.  Once you have all that in place, go ahead and do your linked clone stuff.

  • Double connection monitor with HP H8 - 1360T

Just got a new HP H8 - 1360T with a Radeon HD7570 video card. I have two monitors with DVI and VGA inputs on them. They were both used with an older Dell dual mode. Unfortunately the double with the Dell adapter cable has a male end LFH59 (all pins) that will not connect the HP H8 - 1360T.  Is it as simple as getting the right cable? I see some references/DVI-I single and double as well as DVI - D single and double. I want to extend my desktop on two monitors. Can what adapter cable I get? Thanks for your help.

    Hello

You said that the monitors DVI so use a native DVI cable to a monitor, and then a DVI cable to HDMI to the other monitor.

To eliminate any problems check each monitor, one at a time on each port to make sure everything works before moving on to the next step.

Go to the AMD Catalyst Control Center and set up a display EyeFinity group.  You should be put in place a group of 2 X 1.

If necessary, go to the AMD web siteand download the latest driver for your video card video card.

  • want to use 24 "iMac as a monitor with my mac book Pro but the iMac doesn't have a port thunderbolt

Can I connect my iMac 24 "2.16Intel Core 2 Duo with single firewire ports and use it as a monitor with my MacBook Pro (thunderbolt port)? Thank you very much.

EDIT: What year is your iMac? See if your iMac is supported by the target Display Mode using the link below. If your iMac, you can use a port Mini screen Mini display port cabe using your iMac on your MacBook Pro screen. I hope this helps!

Use your iMac as a display with the target - Apple Support Display Mode

P.S. The target Display Mode feature does work through Thunderbolt or Mini display port, you can do this via Firewire, as is any other protocol used to transfer files, not for input/output display.

  • How to use two external monitors with my laptop?

I have a new Pavilion dm4-301 d cl Entertainment PC.   My OS is Windows 7.   I'm used to using two external monitors with a docking station.   This new laptop lacks a docking station.  What should I do use two external monitors?

Certainly not without a dock, but even with laptop HP well enough docks limit you to one of the ports on the external monitor, even if there are two on the dock. We used a device called an Atlona AT-HDPIX2 which is a USB to hdmi adapter. It provides a feature of third monitor for a laptop... use the native external port of the screen and the computer screen internal, then this device gives a third control that is fully configurable to display Windows 7 interface... clone, extend, etc.. It allows a full HD resolution and is pretty responsive for games even light.  HP does not have any true docking station for your laptop.

My office is a COMPAQ Presario 2029 with a NVidia GeForce 7500LE graphics card, currently under XP SP3. Although in due course, I intend to upgrade to Windows 7 or 8.1, or replace the material altogether with a new PC for Windows 8.1, which will not be some time yet.

In the meantime, I think to replace my current monitor with a wide screen HP Pavilion 22xi or 23xi. I'm likely to have problems, try to run on existing hardware or XP?

    Thank you!

    Thank you!

I see from the driver information that it is listed as compatible with XP, so it's reassuring.
