Multiline text field, not packing in PDF format

Hello

I work in InDesign CS6 and I have a text field where users can take notes at the bottom of each page on the master page. I have the right properties defined in the dialog buttons (see below). However, when a user enters text, the text is not wrapping (see image 2), it shows just as a long line of text. If I go to the PDF file and select the text box and choose multiline, it works, but I don't want to have to do this on each page of each document. Is there something I'm missing when creating the PDF file or set up initially in InDesign?

The pages Panel, select all the pages containing a button text field then of flyout arrow select replace all elements of the master page. Hope this can help.

    Hello

    At this stage in order to add a line break in a multiline text field, you will need to use either
    or

  • Masking printed lines in a multiline text field?

    I am designing a form using Adobe Acrobat XI. This form is designed to be multi use. It can be printed and completed by hand or it can be filled electronically.

    When the user chooses to complete the form electronically, entering into a multiline text field, I want to hide the printed lines. After leaving the field, I want the lines will still be hidden if any text has been entered in the field. I know that this can be accomplished by using a script in the Action of the box text field properties window, but I can't find the correct script and triggers. Any help is very appreciated.

    Here is the solution:

    In the onFocus event, you add this line of code:

    event.target.fillColor = color.white;

    and in the onBlur event, you add this line of code:

    If (event.value.toString () .length< 1)="">

    event.target.fillColor = color.transparent;

    }

    The script of the onBlur event is required to set back field transparent background when you tab through an empty field; When you tab through a field, the Format event will not occur.

  • Dynamic text field not updated to actionscript in the 2nd Frame

    I have a clip with two frames. In the 2nd frame there is a clip that has a text field.

    My goal is to some events that I will be proposing to the frame that has the clip with the text field.

    I'm trying to update the text field with a code something like: -.

    public void updateTxtFld(e:Event)

    {

    My goal is to certain events show the clip with the text field

    questBG.gotoAndStop ("glow");

    arrowText.text = "of the text." arrowTextt has been awarded with the correct text field

    }

    After some time I again back to the framework that has no movie clip masking so the clip

    public void masquer()

    {

    questBG.gotoAndStop ("idle");

    }

    The text field not updated since the actionscript code even if trace (arrowText.text) shows the updated value.

    Now, if I remove the clip of frames & change the updateTxtFld() as

    public void updateTxtFld(e:Event)

    {

    (questBG.getChildByName ('arrowBG') as Sprite) .visible = true;

    arrowText.text = "of the text." arrowTextt has been awarded with the correct text field

    }

    Then it works very well with the updated text in the text field. It seems that there seems to be a problem in dynamic text field update in frames.

    I also checked that the incorporation of text is fine in both cases

    I created the FLAS using CS Professional 5.5 & I am trying to change the text field using actionscript running in Flex Builder 4.7.   Let me know if I need to send the fla (working and non-working version).

    you are the assignment of text to arrowText before the timeline then moves to "shine".

    Use the render event to assign the text:

    public void updateTxtFld(e:Event)

    {

    My goal is to certain events show the clip with the text field

    questBG.gotoAndStop ("glow");

    internship. Invalidate();

    this.addEventListener (Event.RENDER, assignTextF);

    }

    function assignTextF(e:Event):void {}
    arrowText.text = "of the text." arrowTextt has been awarded with the correct text field
    }

  • Why a form in InDesign CC 2014 multiline text field wraps not the text in the exported PDF file?

    I created a form in InDesign CC 2014. The form fields are text with a font size of 12 point and multiline text attribute. I export to PDF interactive form. Open the PDF file in Acrobat XI. When I type in the form field, the text is centered vertically in the form field and wraps around, when I type a value in addition to a line of words in the field.

    I would like that text to start at the top of the field and fill down. Also, I would automatically wrap it around the input text.

    Any advice?

    Delete any point in the name field.

    There is a problem like that if there is a point understanding between the words or numbers in the name of the text box in the button panel.

    I want to create large text fields and the text starts at the upper left corner. In all areas, the text begins many lines down. How can I remedy so that it starts in the upper left corner?

    Edit: After some research, this only happens when I use a font Cambria. All other policies work as it should. Why is this?

    It is a known issue with this policy. It's either a bug with the police or with Acrobat. What version of Acrobat are you using?

  • Can someone help me with the properties of the multiline text field?

    Adobe is not my first or second language. I have been responsible for making a form to fill out and were able to understand a little after reading the Adobe Acrobat Bible, most, however, I just can't understand this little thing that's driving me crazy! I created a large default text field (so the person filling out the form to the management a little) this field is also defined as a multiline and also make field scroll long text. The problem is that the default text is highlighted not crept to crush then tab through the various areas of creation. He puts just the cursor at the end of the text by default so using back or manually select and delete text. I looked at how to set up the rest of the fields and the only thing different, I selected the multiline text box in the Properties menu. I need to be multiline text. If this is not the case, only the first words of the default paragraph I entered couple is visible. Any suggestions or ideas would be a step ahead of where I am now. Thanks in advance.

    Yesterday, we discussed a similar situation and the solution should work for you too: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/756410?tstart=0

    What you do is create a Format script that displays the text that you want, when the field is empty, but this text is not the value of the field. The modified script below prevents printing explanatory text if the field is empty.

  • Export the contents of a form field from InDesign to PDF format

  • By assigning a value to a text field not working PHP/javascript?

    I have a site to someone else coded, where a text field does a value that is assigned.

    Both
    Form1.textfield3.value = form1.textfield1.value;
    and
    Form1.textfield3.value = "99";

    not work, and the field is left blank.

    This same code works on Internet Explore (Win and OSX), Safari, Chrome and Opera. It does NOT work on Firefox 8 or 9.01 (Win and OSX) or 3.6.25. He used to work on an older Firefox, we had (unknown version).

    JavaScript is enabled; is there anything else we can check?

    If you check the error in Firefox (Ctrl + Shift + j) Console, you will see "form1 is not defined. This is because Firefox converts automatically form1 in reference to < form = "form1" name >. Instead, you must change the code a bit.

    You can fix the above error starting each function where you refer to form1 with this:

    Form1 = return ["form1"] var;

    However, probably just move the error to the next part of the notation (for example, textfield3). The proper way to refer to the value of a form field named is:

    document. Forms ["Form1"]. Items ["textfield3"]. Value

    or if you have set form1,

    Form1.elements ['textfield3'] .value

    If you have a few changes to make. Not sure if there are shortcuts.

  • Word 2010 on PC - using the Acrobat plugin in French - kerning is not correct in PDF format

    Here's my problem: I have a complex Word document (manuscript of 700 pages with internal hyperlinks by using bookmarks and Table of contents).

    I can't get the PDF to create correctly. I have the latest Acrobat and also the Word Acrobat plugin. I also have a Mac and a PC.

    I can't save the PDF on a Mac because it will not create a PDF file with dozens and dozens of hyperlinks internal - so I need to get the Word/PDF to work on a PC.

    I have great difficulty exporting the word because the document is mainly in Arial and the process will not embed Arial. Word/Acrobat will embed all fonts used in the document, but not Arial. It is a real problem because the Arial font is changing dramatically in the PDF file. Letters are even overlapping - exported as a PDF from Word, the document is almost unreadable. Of course, the police works great when you create a PDF on the Mac. I CAN incorporate the police once established in a PDF of Acrobat file, but it does not solve the problem of kerning. This isn't new the text layout.

    I'm frustrated and feel out of options.

    Any suggestions or alternatives? Is this a known bug in Word/PDF?

    Another autour work could switch to another font, but that would be extremely tedious because it moves the items from one page to another, and the document is 700 pages.

    Any help appreciated!

    The problem with the change of the police, it is that the document is set up like a book with page breaks in specific areas and chapters from the right side of pages etc.

    The reflow would be tedious.

    After many tests - in this file - Arial does not incorporate when choosing the options EMBED police or even make a Distiller profile. And the absence of incorporation is the origin of the problem of kerning.

    However, I found a solution that I'm very excited.

    If you select / a conformity: PDF/A3-B STRENGTH incorporate all variants ARIAL used in the document and the kerning the problem is resolved.

    I hope this helps other people who have had problems with Arial incorporates, as it seems there have been many problems based on research on the web for this topic.

    Good luck

  • Referring to the value of a text field, not the legend

    How to refer to the value in a text field to make the data entered by the user "BOLD" / no fat without the caption of a field text in bold or not bold?

    Hello

    Two lines should do. The first turn the caption and the "BOLD" value, then the second changes the legend of back to normal:

    TextField1.font.weight = "bold";
    TextField1.caption.font.weight = "normal";

    Hope that helps,

  • Dynamic text field not display the text even when the font is embedded.

    Hello

    So, I have a basic actionscript code.  It is a heritage site, so I use AS2.  The line of code is simply this:

    myField.text = "text".

    So I select the text field on the stage, and then make sure that the police is incorporated.  All the glyphs I want are checked, but then when I compile and test, the fonts do not appear when the code is executed.  Instead, the TextField is empty!  That's happened?  Where the text is?

    I should mention that the .swf that I compile is loaded in another parent .swf during execution.  If that parent .swf contains no fonts embedded, which is why it broke?  I'll try, but I just wanted to see if anyone can give some advice for troubleshooting.

    Thank you for your time and help!

    Yes.   the main swf file must incorporate this policy.

  • How to stop a text field to appear as exponential format (7th + 10)?

    Hello

    Simple question. I have a simple RTF table that displays a text field. Sometimes, this text field begins with a letter and sometimes text that resembles a certain number. If it contains text that looks like a lot, when I publish in Excel, it displays the number in the form 756342E + 10 (in the form of text!).

    How to just display as text?

    Thank you!
    Phil

    Force excel to treat the column as text rather than the number,
    by adding a space or by adding with like concat (column,' ')

How can I fix that, apart from making the work directly to PDF?

    I solved the problem - discovered that InDesign CC do not mix images of previous versions of InDesign, so took everything in the document and placed into a new document, exported to PDF and all that the tag perfectly!

  • Multiline text field where does not align data entry

    I ran into this many times and I have not be able to find a solution. I work with an existing paper form that has a descriptive text on the left that partially fills a line. At the end of the sentence, the line is half-filled and the entrance area starts immediately thereafter. The continuous form then allow text entry, but now line 2 is entirely justified to the left. If I put a large box on all three lines that is framed on the left, then the seizure highlighted area covers the text of the question, and the values that are entered in the box to write on top of the text.

    If I put the box on the right, any input is limited and seems weird when printing.

    I have always just made two text boxes. A short and the other who will the width and the text wrapping. I hate to run, but I wanted to make sure that my question has been understood. Thanks for the ideas you have there
