Multinode R12.2.2 installation
Hi all:
I am in the process of preparation for the last R12.2.2.0 of installation multi-user on Linux RHEL 6 in accordance with the document of installation that he needs to run the installation on the application (node) first layer and then on the database layer (node).
In previous versions, we made the installation on the database layer (node) first and then passed to the application (node) layer.
I am little confused someone can check and let me know how to proceed with the installation of several node to the R12.2.2.0 version and basically which layer should be configured and installed first.
Thank you
Syed.
Hi Hussein:
Thanks for the information and please leave this thread open. I am running of the plant, and I'll let know you if I need more help.

You must edit the file hosts (under % Windows%\system32\drivers\etc) on the client computer (XP machine) and have a valid entry as follows:

Make sure that you can test the server (vmlinux.vmdomain.com) as well as the IP address (192.168.139.132) of the XP client.
Add the URL of the application to the trusted sites in the browser (IE).

Found a workaround. The problem is that, before the 7695070 patch is applied, the installation program backup directory/apps/fs2/FMW_Home/webtier/jdk
in /apps/fs2/FMW_Home/webtier/jdk_backup_existing_version, but then it clears. / jdk - the patch fails because it can't find it. I had to rename the directory of the jdk for jdk2, and as soon as it gets deleted quickly and rename jdk2 jdk. Then he applies the patches without problem. A symbolic link would do the same thing. -
Fix missing for EBS R12.2 quick installation?
Hi all
EBS R12.2.4
RHEL 6.5
An Oracle Consultant installed the VISION instance to Assistant Rapid aid for our demonstration tests.
After that, I was task to install the instance of CRP to help Assistant Rapid to start at our facility to the CRP/test.
To my dismay, some functional test gets the error in CRP but runs well in the VISION.
I think I have missed a few major patches or applied the wrong patch when installing apps?
How can I check which patch is missing or poorly implemented, by comparing the two instance?
In comparison, there are ins invalid objects CRP which is VISION valid example is the package APPS. IBY_VALIDATIONSETS_PUB
The cause is the incompatible table IBY_DOCS_PAYABLE_VAL_GT of the CRP and the Vision which have different structures. There are some missing columns in CRP:
INT_BANK_BRANCH_TYPE
EXT_BANK_BRANCH_TYPEPlease help how to find the patch that will fix these inconsistencies of table.
Thank you very much

New R12.2.2 Installation: A question to statements of account and group on UNIX
I'm reading installation guide to prepare for the rapid installation on this version and I have a question concerning the account and the group must be created for Oracle database layer.
In part 1-16 installation guide says:
The user of the operating system that has the data node file system and begin it
Services database node is called the oracle user. This user must be created with a
primary group 'dba '.
I understand that like:
1. create the group 'dba '.
2. create a for example 'oracle' user and assign the user with a core group of "dba".
My question is in the process of entering the parameters of the configuration quick installation file,
I need enter 2 parameter data base operating system user and group data base operating system.
It is easy for me to understand the 'oracle' user should be the OS user database.
But here the Group of database operating system must be "dba" or not?
Is it possible to give the name of the group other than "dba" here?
I'm confused in this part and hope someone could give me help.
Thanks in advance,
Robin
Robin,
You should be able to use any other group to the role of the admin group by default is "dba"

Utility to do validations/controls pre-required for the installation of R12?
Hello
ENV: Oracle Linux 32-bit 5.8, Oracle EBS R12 (12.1)
Is there a utility of Meta Link that I can run to check if all the prerequisites are met for the installation of Oracle EBS R12 on Oracle Linux 5.8 32-bit?
What is the name of the utility?
Best regards
Hello
Regarding your checks of preinstallation of the original question, have look at GDR - health check / Validation Engine Guide (Doc ID 250262.1)
There are sets of different rules for different OS that you can use to check if all the conditions are met before installing
You can consult the mos note "R12.1.1: Installation of Oracle E-Business Suite and upgrade Lotus Notes version 12 (12.1.1) for Linux x 86 (Doc ID 761564.1)" and install the needed packages from your installation media (most of the packages are available on the installation media, oracle has provided a separate link for those not available)
If yum does not properly check out this (you are on 32 I doubt there is one for 32-bit)
