Multiple photo library

Hello!

Very simply:

-My partner and I have separate iPhones.

-We both share a macbook.

-J' currently have pictures of store / photo stream from my iPhone on the iCloud.  Back-up of my phone is also on the iCloud.

-No pictures are stored on the macbook.

-J' currently use Photo to view my photos to iCloud and use it to organize photos into folders etc.

I want to backup my iPhone of partners on the macbook.

I would also like to back up his library on the macbook (currently on an external storage device)

1. What is the best way to organize and keep libraries and separate backup?  I didn't want the files become mixed, and also when the future backups are completed.

2. it would make a difference if we create the separate connection for the macbook and log-in and log-out?  We currently share a little a login.

Thank you!

The easiest way would be to create a user for your partner account.

If it connects to his user account before you plug in your iPhone, you will not accidentally import photos into your photo library.

Create a separate account for her and she can create her own photo library and regularly import new pictures from this library.

If you do not want to use a separate account, to create a library of Photos second for his pictures, and before you plug his iPhone, double-click its photo library to open it. Then his photos will be imported to this library. Switch to your library by double-clicking your photo library.

See this Help Page: using multiple libraries

If she had his own user account, she could use my photo stream automatically transfer photos to the Mac.

  • How to remove several photos library icloud?

I use icloud photos with multiple devices, including an iPhone 4, iPad, Macbook pro and two PC.

My icloud library is too large, with many duplicates (same photo taken several times) and many photos, I don't want to keep.

Deleting photos in the library using the icloud library is a slow and tedious process.  I can remove only one at a time, each time takes 20 seconds or more, even with Internet broadband.

How can I select and delete several photos at once?

    Hello rhwolfson,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple!

Looks like you want to be able to remove several photos icloud photo library at the same time.  I will do my best to help find a solution for you.

To delete multiple photos, the easiest method is to sign in iCloud.com on one of the computers you listed.  Once logged in, click on the photos icon.  When you are in the view 'Moments', you should see "Select of Photos" at the top right of the browser window. Click on 'Select Photos'.  You should now be able to select multiple photos and then click on the "Remove" button that appears.  This should allow you to delete several photos at the same time.

  • How can I make iOS rescan my photo library, searching for old memories?

When I used iOS 10 beta publice photos do a scan on my photo library in the background. Then I went back to iOS 9.3.2 after that I installed iOS 10 once the same memories where it so I deleted them in DSB to make the photo scan my photo library app once, but since no other analysis was conducted by the application (except the new added pictures). So, what can I do? My memories are lost forever?

Probably before you started playing with the beta version before you did these multiple deletes and installs, you checked all your photos on your computer, but also backed up all important data?

If you were using iCloud, when you deleted the photos on the device, you also erased them in iCloud. No photo of iCloud offer service offline archiving permanent photos. If you delete a photo (or any data icloud synchronized) on the device, remove yourself from iCloud.

As long as backup you and archive your photos elsewhere, you can restore them comes from there.

  • Delete a photo library, now can bring into the iPhoto library

I have Photos of El Capitan put in place to manage multiple libraries on the same MacBook Pro internal hard drive.  I was trying to create a new additional library, but seem to have screwed things up.

I created the new photo library, called "BB_Photos", then introduced in photos from iPhoto to Snow Leopard.  I note that the same name iPhoto library is on a second internal hard drive.  The new library seems to have created OK in El Capitan.  However, I was unhappy and trashed the library of Photos of El Capitan, in the hope of re - create.  Now I can't pictures released Photos a second time.

In Snow Leopard, the library presented as 'BB_Photos.migratedphotolibrary' and I can line up the pictures of El Capitan.  (Even once, note that these are on two separate disks, because I am dual boot.)  Photos I am trying to re-import or something, but I trashed this library.  Are photos ransacked still hiding somewhere in the Photos?

The iPhoto library is visible from El Capitan pictures inside, but it is grayed out and not available.  However, I can still open and view inside Snow Leopard iPhoto library.

How can I cancel my original error and get "BB_Photos" in El Capitan pictures?  I can't the library of Snow Leopard to be "not migrated" so Photos can see it again?

Photos does not open "BB_Photos", because the file name extension ".migratedphotolibrary" shows that the library has already migrated to the Photos.

Simply restore the file name extension ".photolibrary". You can do this in the Info Panel.

Select "BB_Photos... migratedphotolibrary" in the Finder, then enter the ⌘I key combination to open the information panel. Change the file name extension in the "Name & Extension" section of the Info Panel.

You may need to click on, then uncheck "hide the Extension."

  • Photo library is missing in iMovie

    Hello

In iMovie-> my media-> library, I have NO 'Libraries of Photos' for some reason any.

It's very annoying.  Does anyone know how to get that back?  Also note, I have two libraries iMovie for a reason any.  No idea why this is and how to get back to a?

    Here's what iMovie should resemble:

    Thank you!

    Brad

The library of photos that shows in iMovie is the designated as library system in photos app preferences. I guess that is ok for you as I assume that your question that photo library showed upward in iMovie for you in the past since you said how to get that back. This is a known problem that the photo library is intermittently showing in iMovie. A solution that seems to work is to open the pictures before you open iMovie. For your multiple iMovie libraries, it is possible that when you updated to iMovie, you had an iMovieProjects folder and the iMovieEvents folder on more than one player?

  • Lost photo library

I have multiple iPhoto libraries that I regularly accesses via iPhoto. However, I opened a these libraries in Photos iPhoto, which succeeded, but I now cannot locate the original photo library. Y at - it somewhere that I can search to locate the missing library and then restore on Photos? Also, is there a satisfactory means to merge libraries (i.e. old libraries of iPhoto with current photo library, assuming I can find the latter)? I used iPhoto Library Manager to merge previous iPhoto library in the past. Apple provides a tool to merge in the latest version of Photos?

Photos library is normally located in your pictures folder. However, if it has been moved, you can locate it by a Spotlight search

or now the option/alt key when you start Photos, this will bring up the dialog to choose library, which will show at all the

Photos, iPhoto and opening libraries that are on your mac or on the connected drives. Select to open pictures.

With regard to the merger of libraries I'm not sure I think that you can not open the library up in pictures, export the images to a folder

then import that their return in the library that you want to merge. Or you can export to iPhoto an iPhoto library,

in a file and then import them into your photo in photo library.

  • Why the rejection of multiple photos doesn't work anymore when you change pictures?

Why the rejection of multiple photos doesn't work anymore when you change pictures? Does anyone else have this problem? It works on my other Mac but just stop working on my computer laptop pro, I have the latest OS and it worked until a few weeks ago. Thanks for any help!

Selection of several photos at once enter "9" to reject all still works them for me in Aperture 3.6 on El Capitan.

Have you tested, if the problem occurs only in an Aperture library or libraries opening?

Create a new Aperture library to test and see rejection, so it works.

If it does not work in a new library either, I got trash Aperture preferences.

In preferences file is now in the container folder in the user's library.

    Try this:

    • Leave the opening runs.
    • Then open your user library and delete the folder complete ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Aperture/
    • and the ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist file

Your user library can still be hidden. To reveal the hidden user library:

    • Bring the Finder to the front by clicking on the desktop or the Finder icon in the Dock.
    • Select your folder user/home (with the House icon in the side bar of the Finder)
    • With this window in the Finder in the front window, press the ⌘J key combination to bring up the display options.
    • In the view options panel allow you to "show the library folder. That will make your visible user library folder in your folder.
    • Open your folder, then the library folder, then the containers.
    • Move the entire folder ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Aperture on your desktop. Move the entire folder, not just the content.
    • Delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist as well.

Now, restart the Mac, start Aperture and try see your book.  If all goes well, delete the folder on the desktop.

  • Some basic questions please about iCloud photo library

I am today store all my photos locally in my iOS and OSX devices.

In addition, I use time machine and cloud CrashPlan backup.

Recommend using iCloud library instead of my present meanneging photo?

IN the affirmative. When turning on photo library from iCloud, it will replace the unlimited lacal automattecly?

    Thank you.

    1. using iCloud photo library or not it is a personal decision - nobody else can do it for you - my personal choice is to use it for a small library, keeping a larger separate library and the use of PowerPhotos to move photos between libraries that I find that the best compromise between cost and the connivance to me - you and others can find some better implemented

    2. so far nobody has restored successfully a library of Photos CrashPlan form then I suggest that not rely you on it for a backup - and ICPL is not a backup, is a way to share your library among multiple devices

3 / ICPL-turning will not replace the photos - it merges your libraries in a library that is exactly the same on all devices and is related any modification on any device is made on all

  • share your entire photo library (v1.2) locally

    Hi all

I don't know how to make my photo library locally share with other Macs. Please show me how, I'd rather not go through iCloud library since my library is huge.

    Thank you

There is really no way except iCloud photo library

Photos is not a multi user program and does not work with a library network - it must have the library on a locally connected drive

There are other photo managers that allow network libraries and are set up for multiple users - Apple is no not one

  • System not on the iCloud photo library?

Can I can put a photo library independent of the system on the disk to iCloud and therefore have access to it from multiple macs?

If you put a photo library on iCloud drive and access it from another Mac synchronization between devices may corrupt the library. I've tested this with a few small test libraries, and none of them survived to synchronization, once I opened new during on iCloud drive.

I would not risk with important photos.

  • How to show multiple photos and remove unwanted Windows Media Center photos?

Original title: Windows Medica Center - get photos

I have updated from Vista to 7. I loaded hundreds of photos in the computer since then.

However, I can see only one photo at a time. How can I view multiple photos at a time and how I delete unwanted photos?

    Thank you

    Hi jdhill93,

You cannot view several pictures at the same time on a single screen on Windows Media Center.
See See pictures and videos in Windows Media Center

Step 1: Remove a photo from your computer
    a. on the Windows Media Center start screen, access images + videos and then click picture library.
    b. navigate to the image you want to delete, click on the image, click on remove and then click Yes.

Note: Deleting files permanently removes files from your computer. Back up the files before deleting.

  • Photo library on mac was emissions additional no duplicated and then imported into Lightroom 6 PROBLEM: all duplicates appear (capitan OSX). Help me with this please!

I imported all my photos in photo library on macbook OSX capitan. The photos were additional emissions not duplicated using power foto and gemini. This in the photo library. After checking, I have 48,000 photos, 80,000 duplicted >. After that completely eliminate the unwanted duplicate photos I import to LR6 by drag and drop the trump card in the library. Then all photos, including the deleted ones appear.

Any solution or another way to import? photo for mac contains all my data being sought.

This file did you import into Lr?

And I would say you will find the duplicate in Lr, note the file name and then search the photo library to see if you have multiple instances of this photo. You cannot use Spotlight; you will need to use another utility like find easy.

But you are right; If you have deleted them permanently from the "recently deleted" album they should be in the trash; you could confirm that as well.

And use 'Show in Finder' alleged images duplicated in Lr to see where the copy is stored; that should also give you an idea of why it did not work.

  • Lightroom 4 Keywording multiple Photos

I am in library mode and attempts to add the same set of keywords to a group of about 60 photos.  All these photos are highlighted in the bottom of my screen, but a picture seems brighter highlighted.  I typed in a group of keywords in my sidebar and then click on enter.  I thought that action should tag all 60 photos with the same keywords, but it doesn't.  Only the bright colors highlight photo Gets the keywords.  Surely, there must be a way to mark multiple photos with the same keywords at the same time.  I have watched the video of Cree Orwig on Adobe and am follows the same steps it shows but the keywords are labeled only in photo one alone.  Am I missing something simple here?

    Thank you

I knew that I had missed something!  Thank you very much!

I deleted all of my photo, My Photo Stream etc. flows including shared library iCloud.

I have also ensured that the recently deleted album is empty. I disabled iCloud photo library on each device. It should not be a trace of left.

However, I always told my library back 1.9 GB of my storage iCloud. There is an option to turn it off completely but it will take 30 days, which is a long wait when I don't know if it will work.

Any ideas that he could be taking all this space? Or if there is a way to reset all empty without waiting for 30 days?

I use the latest version of iOS on my iPad and the iPhone, and the El Capitan on my Mac if that helps.
