  Try this:

  Repair the hard drive and permissions - El Capitan

  HD recovery start:

  Restart the computer and after the buzzer, press on and hold down the COMMAND and R until the menu screen appears.

Disk utility charges and select Macintosh HD entry indented from the list on the left.  Click the first aid tab in the toolbar...   Well, I was very happy when the program doesn't stop after following your advice and unchecking above named filter. But then, after it scans the file (which is a progress!), he says he cannot continue because one or more of the files contains a codec that is not supported by AutoMovie. I don't even know what a codec IS. I know who was Kojak, and I know what is Kotex, but what the heck is a codec and how do I get one?

  My programs and applications are blocking as soon as I open Explorer file (I use windows 8).  For example, when I go to attach a file to an e-mail, the Web browser crashes.  Also, when I go on ' Save as ' in microsoft office, word/excel crashes too.

  -Startup in safe mode - safe mode will not allow not even me open microsoft word, and the problem persists when you use gmail via google chrome

  2. You get an error message when the applications or programs crash?

  The question could arise due to corruption in specific applications or due to file system corruption directly affecting the launch programs. In order to diagnose and resolve the issue, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if the problem persists.

  Method 1:

  Run the Troubleshooter of Apps and check if that helps.

  The Apps store is an automated tool that we have developed to deal with a number of known issues that may prevent applications from running correctly. This troubleshooting automatically solves some issues including the suboptimal screen resolution, incorrect security or account etc. settings. If the problem persists, refer to the remaining steps in the help article and check.

  Solve problems with a soft

  If the problem persists, try the following method.

  Method 2:

  Try to run a scan of the file system (CFS) auditor to check corruption of system files in the system. SFC scan will search for system files corrupted on the computer and fix them.

  Only, I solved the problem... My mac has updated the day before to a version that is not compatible with my old version of lightroom.  Only way to solve this situation is to buy the upgrade.

  Please reset the Bridge preferences and then try it.

  Measures

  Start Adobe Bridge, and immediately press Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or command + Option + shift (Mac OS down) until the dialogue box reset settings appears.

  Select all three options - reset preferences, reset Standard Workspaces and all miniature Purge Cache - and then click OK.
