Mxm G580 support

Hello, I own a Lenovo g580 20150 with nvidia 610 m. I want to ask if I can improve it with an another gpu and what cards are compatible with this.

Thanks in advance!

Alex

G580 does not support MXM, the GPU is soldered directly to the motherboard.

I have a desktop Hp Elite ultra-flat 8200 and I wanted to get a graphical upgrade, so I decided to buy an ATI Radeon 5450 mxm 512 MB discrete graphics card, when I put in my computer and turned on, I could not find the drivers, my screen has been changed upward, my resolution was changed and I could not change it back and it made my game even worse than before I already know that my computer is not the type of game, but any type of graphics upgrade could help out me. My main question is, why does it worsen my computer?

    Hello:

Have you tried the MXM AMD support page of your PC graphics card driver?

I wonder if my Satellite Pro - 1LC C850 have a MXM port?

I suppose you think the graphics card update.
    Right?

As far as Toshiba uses non-standard MXM on a large number of laptops, but upgrading isn't possible and not supported.

  • Does support PCI Satellite A100-812 (PSAAR) standard MXM slot

    Hello

I have a Satellite A100-812 at the moment and I was wondering if the PCI-e slot is 1 on the mxm standarts.

And if so, could it be replaced by another graphics card, say a 8600M GT?

    Hi Marien

The Satellite A100 does not support the MXM (Mobile PCI Express Module) interface and the graphics card or upgrade replacement is certainly not possible!
The graphics card is fixed and welded on the map and you can not delete it!

If you want you can use the advanced search option forum and could search for similar topics to this topic.
But I guess that you will always find the same info that is; GPU upgrade is not possible

  • Question about MXM and scalability

    Hello

I read in a web page, there are models of toshiba with support upgrade of the video card. But I found haven´t.

Does anyone know any model extensible graphics?

Toshiba plans to use MXM technology in the future?

    Thank you!

    Hi Chris

Well, I'm sorry but I can't find t any document on new graphics cards or the information on the new MXM technology. As I know the nVIDIA GeForce FX video Go6600 Qosmio memory DDR SDRAM is more efficient laptop graphics card. It's not easy to create effective graphics for notebook, because the parts of high level produce a lot of heat and it very hard to cool the rooms.
For new Toshiba technology and developments, you can consult the sites Web from Toshiba.

  • Tecra A7-202 has a MXM graphics module?

Tecra A7-202 has a MXM graphics module? It has a Mobility Radeon X 1600 graphics, but is it MXM?

    Hello

I studied a bit and the MXM based on the slot of the motherboard connectors.
Cards mothers equipped with an MXM slot will have a very small connector; 72 mm long, 11mm wide, but its height varies between 5mm, 2.7 mm and 1.5 mm according to the seller.
The MXM slot has 230 pins and can accommodate complete 16 channel PCI Express signals, as well as all I/O to display signals. Having the display signals I/O across the MXM slot means laptop factory may simply pass the display signals regardless of the connectors are installed on the motherboard (VGA, DVI, HD, S-video, Etc.), who could do most common capable portable multi-display.
With the interface and technology MXM graphics upgrade would be very easy, because each card would use the same connectors to interface.

AFAIK the Geforce Go 6600 is one of the first graphics cards that support it.
The Tecra A7 was delivered with the graphics card ATI Mobility Radeon graphics card X 1400 and 1600 X and these cards don t support MXM PCI Express 16 x.

  • Satellite A80-142 with Geforce Go 6600 there MXM?

I am the owner of a Satellite A80-142 with a Geforce Go 6600 (128 MB) and I really want to know if its mounted directly on the card or if it is a MXM. I have already searched the web and found some Go 6600 cards which are MXMs.
    Can someone help me please?

I have also read that nVidia designs and produce the GeForce 6600 also with the MXM modules. But this does not mean that each card GeForce 6600 supports this.
As far as I know, notebooks A80 graphics card and motherboard does not support the MXM interface.

  • Lenovo G580 - menu to start cannot find CD/DVD, HARD drive

    Hello everyone

I have a little trouble with this laptop lenovo G580, which cannot start.

Problem: HARD and CD/DVD drive is visible in the tap in the bios info, but they are not visible in the faucet of the boot, only an IP4 and IP6 EFI network are visible.

I tried to change the HARD disk first to ensure if she would do anything, but did not work, so I spent back.

But I've never seen this kind of problem before, so I really have no idea what to do.

The version of the bios installed is V9.01 I hope that if someone has an idea that could help solve this problem.

    -Mootix-

It seems ok I solved my problem, I will report how and what I have done, so anyone with the same problem can try this.

OK, so apparently the Bios have been installing only the boot devices to reqister who had something to do with Windows 8, which means that the hard drive that was completely empty of any data, had nothing to do with Windows 8 and therefor can not be started with the current Bios settings.

    1. open the safety valve and turn off temp only "secure startup.

    2. go to the tap of Boot and change 'Boot mode' for Legacy Support UEFI.

    3. in the tap water Boot changes 'Boot prio' "first Legacy.

4 reboot and press F2 and verify tap boot to the disk under "Boot device prio.

    Fact

I think that since the drive HARD have Win8 installed it will not display as boot device unless it is on Legacy Support.

because UEFI on the G580 only supports the HARD disk with a Win8 installed operating system.

Now, I should be able to reinstall Win 8 - 8.1 on the HARD drive.

  • Replacement card mother G580 then display problems

    Hello

I was wondering if someone can help me navigate through the support of Lenovo. Here is the story backwards:

My husband bought a laptop G580 on 30/06/13. After less than 2 months, he began cutting use environment and do not take a charge. I called Lenovo support and they have quick send a replacement battery and ac adapter on 28/08/13 after troubleshooting over the phone could not solve the problem. Unfortunately, the computer not yet start or take a load with these new parts, so I had to send it the Lenovo Depot Repair Center to have the motherboard replaced. The computer was received by Lenovo on 10/09/13 and the motherboard has been replaced. Apparently, the computer has been verified quality and all systems were functioning normally. However, when we received the back of the computer screen would not turn. After more troubleshooting over the phone with support from Lenovo, I discovered that the keyboard had not been properly reinstalled and it has been determined that the machine should be returned a 2nd time because something was wrong with the display (maybe the cables don't had not been reconnected properly). The machine has been received by Lenovo on 24/09/13 and 25/09/13 we received a call from Lenovo support saying that the computer has no RAM and cannot be repaired until we sent the RAM. My husband explained that we had not opened the computer since getting this return since the Depot repair center and therefore RAM not must not have been reinstalled after the replacement of the motherboard by Lenovo. We thought at that time here that technicians would be able to install the RAM and repair the computer, since we had not removed the RAM and explained the situation. After not seeing any update on our case on the Web site, I called Lenovo Support on 02/10/13 and told me that the support representative would send another email to the worker explaining the situation. Since there is still no update online, I called Lenovo support this morning and told me that the representative could send a request by e-mail and that I would receive a call later today, when they have more options.

My question is, what can I do to ensure that the deposit of Lenovo repair center works actively on our case? The motherboard has been replaced and I was told the computer was verified quality, but the keyboard was not put back in place correctly, the display would not work and apparently RAM has not been reinstalled. I'm surprised that this issue has not been resolved already seen that this is the 2nd time it had to be returned and it seems that nobody has worked on the computer from 25/09/13. What can I do?

    Thanks for your suggestions!

    Hi chbadams,

Just to receive your H.Si sent you additional information about the repair.

Hope you find the computer fixed soon.

  • Unrecognized network (20150) G580 controller

    Hello

I have a new G580 with Win 8 64 bit and I have problems with my wifi running. I have Lenovo EM so I'm able to turn off the airplane mode with Fn + F5, however I still can't find any wifi network. I discovered that my network controller is not installed and it shows in Device Manager under "Other devices" as a "network controller". I downloaded all the updates on the Lenovo support site, so I also downloaded drivers for CyberTan and Liteon, but it did not help. The wifi adapter is enabled in the BIOS and there is no problem with the hotspot.

You have any suggstions how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

    duchypuchy

HA, resolved. I downloaded AIDA64 and recognized what adapter I use actually, followed by the download of the driver's cab file and install it manually in the Device Manager.
