My addons disabled each time I restart Firefox

Every time I restart my browser all the addons just turned off and will not do their job. This started to happen when I accidentally downloaded an ad-ware. I removed the ad-ware but the problem persists.

Start the computer in Mode safe mode with network support Windows (on the startup screen, press F8) as a test to see if that helps.

Do a check with some malware malware, analysis of programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.

All of these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

Alternatively, you can write a check for an infection rootkit TDSSKiller.

  • How can I get rid of the media support is outdated question on the home page that appears each time you open Firefox?

Everytime I open Firefox there is a window that says "media player is out of date" and won't let me not go further until I close the window, and then reopen Firefox. When I try to update, it says that it does not work for Mac.

Please do NOT install this suggested MediaPlayer. This message is caused by an extension that I recommend withdrawal, following these steps:

Please try to disable all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:

    • CMD + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then deal a critical look at the list on the right and, when in doubt, turn off (or delete). Especially if you find something called MediaPlayer. Keep in mind that all extensions are optional and none is included with Firefox when you get it first.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

    That get rid of messages?

Check that you are not Firefox running as administrator.

Right click on the desktop Firefox shortcut and choose "Properties".

You should also check the firefox.exe program properties in the Firefox program directory.

  • Firefox 8 always ask to activate the module each time than restarting PC

Although I put all the installed addons 'activate', whenever I turn on the PC, Firefox disables all things, ask again and force me to activate manually one by one! In fact, he does not remember my setting for addon!

I have the same problem and none of the solutions proposed here have worked to solve the problem. I have 3 modules and the problem occurs on each of them. Also, as with others, it is only started with Firefox 8.

Also use BitDefender v10 and tried to uninstall / reinstall BitDefender and Firefox with no luck.

UPDATE: upgrade to BitDefender v12 (you can do it for free if you have a valid license to v10) and it solved the problem.

  • I can stop all my addons disabled whenever it updates of Firefox?

Whenever Firefox updates, it disables all my addons and presents me with a line of tabs, in which I need to check a checkbox, click a button to continue and select restart, or not, for each of the addons. I think I do something wrong, because surely I'm not the only person who would find this irritating, because it seems to happen once a week, but I searched the menu, selected "Automatically install updates", and it is not automatic.

This occurs when the extension of the registry files are either deleted or get corrupted and the new files are created.

Delete the files (extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) extensions.* and compatibility.ini in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created if necessary.

    See "extension corrupted files:

If you see disabled extensions or is not compatible in ' Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions ' and then click the Tools button, on the side of the left end of the search bar ('Find updates' button in older versions of Firefox) to check if there is an update available compatibility.

If this did not help, then also delete the addons.sqlite file.

This can also be caused by problems with preferences.

Rename or remove the file prefs.js and possible numbered prefs-# .js and a user.js file possible to reset all default prefs.

  • Cookie permissions changed to allow each time you start Firefox

OK, here's the deal. Recently, I noticed that cookies are allowed despite their has refused. After messing around, I discovered that everything in having disabled cookies, whenever I run the FF cookies automatically application becomes activated (both accept cookies & third 3rd party cookies is checked). I removed the Cookie Monster & it's the same thing. I already deleted the file prefs.js and this was not good. At the time, I toggle the installed Cookies, which I have to click every time FF launches. At the launch, it starts as denied, and then it turns into permits. Once I click the icon and set it on refuse, then the checkmarks in the boxes to get out. So why are cookies automatically set parameters to allow whenever I run the FF application?
I wonder if DoNotTrack had something to do with it? I've removed from FF. I also Ghostery, but until a week ago, Ghostery & Cookie Monster played well together.
Anyone have any ideas? The browser has been infected with something? Noted today, launch FF in safe mode shows also that the parameters of cookies change not to permit. Apparently something running in normal mode is at the origin of the problem. Other plug ins present on the browser are: NoScript, Foxy Proxy, AdBlock plus, fast Java and Norton toolbar.

Have you tried to disable all add-ons that specifically mention cookies?

If you feel that other settings changes do not stick, too , between sessions, this may indicate a problem with permissions or file locks in your profile folder.

External your security suite or other security/privacy software have its own settings cookies could be pushing into Firefox in some way?

    Hello

First of all apologize for suggesting tools of Windows malware. I have noticed that you are using a Mac. Thanks to Cor - El for this note.

On your machine, you have the following extensions. Is it possible to uninstall / disable these extensions and then try if the popup appears

    2. Backup and restore Firefox profiles information

  • I get conflicting messages on SlipStream, each time I start Firefox 3.6.10

I'm new to Firefox. After a few days, I started a list of Add-ons, including a message that SlipStream SP Integrator 6.0.30 is not compatible with version 3.3.10. I guess that's true, then I click on the "Uninstall" button and uninstall is confirmed after I tell FF to restart. However, a second window thanks then me for the SlipStream installation and installation will be completed when I close the window. There is no other alternative, so I guess that SS is reinstalled without delay. How to exit this loop?
I can provide screenshots, if I knew how.

This can happen if one of the files which stores details of extensions you installed is corrupted. Try to delete the files as described in the section files corrupt article Impossible to install add-ons .

  • Sidebar gadgets are in random order each time I restart the application from the sidebar or I restart the computer.

For some reason, whenever I restart the computer or I close the application of the sidebar and re - open in the start menu, my gadgets are in random order.

I saw another thread for this on Microsoft Answers Social, but his problem was just after installation of SP2. I had SP2 for a long time and recently began to experience this.

A moderator of Microsoft support proposed making sure that Java and Flash have been fully installed and implemented to date. I have both.

However, due to a recent achievement in the platform of Adobe Flash (the one that allows the remote control, discovered last week), Adobe has proposed the Flash upgrade to the release candidate 7 (10.1) version. What I did. Could that be the cause? Hope not. If this is the case, then I will be happy to downshift until a solution has been found. However, the Java platform is perfectly updated and operational. And it's the 6.20 version, which is the latest public version.

Well, I reformatted my hard drive and all restore factory settings.

Everything worked fine... Until I installed again my Adobe CS5 Master Collection.

So I started uninstalling the components one by one to see what worked...

It turns out that Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended (or rather the 64-bit extension him) makes the sidebar go haywire.

Uninstalled Acrobat 9 and no problems yet. Restarted several times to make sure.

I hope that one day I'll find an update to Acrobat who sets. Maybe I'll go post in the Adobe forums for that one.

Whatever it is, no biggie for me - I barely use Acrobat.
