I have a 5 s, which is damage a serious (non-repairable) screen.  I have 2.5 weeks until my contract ends. Can I take the sim from my old phone (original iPhone) 5s?

N ° it does not. You will need to get a replacement of your operator's SIM card. In addition, if it is an original (released in 2007) as opposed to a 3GS iPhone as indicated in your signature, it most likely won't work in most parts of the United States as AT & T is on the way to completely stop their EDGE network.

  • Unlocked IPhone, SIM card is not valid problem

    Hello

I went to study in the United States for a few months and I bought the iPhone 6s 'apple Store' to the United States.

After that I came back to Thailand, I can't use my card SIM Thai (AIS network). It appeared that the sim card is not valid.

I had to call apple care to solve the problem for me and after gave them my IMEI, they told me to contact verizon wireless to unlock my phone.

So far, I confused altogether since I bought the Apple Store iphone, not Verizon.

However, I contacted verizon wireless and even once, after gave them my IMEI, they said that since

the unit was purchased third-party (which is apple Store) so that the device has not been locked by their network.

I tried to restore my device so many times and also with the mode of recovery, but it still can not use.

I checked with APPLE and they said that my device is unlocked model.

Note that first sim that I plug when I got this device is ATT SIM card.

I was contacted to ATT and they also said that my device has not been locked

    through their network.

Please give me suggestions on how to solve this problem

It seems that if you have the iPhone version, intended for use on the Verizon network. If so, it is not locked. However, this does not mean that it will work on the network in your country.  Phones, designed to run on the Verizon network use strips of LTE 13, 4 and 2. It seems that the AIS uses 3 and 1.

  • Exchanging two different Sim cards in my iphone

Hi all. I am a new owner of the iphone and again on the forum. I recently bought a new self iphone unlocked and put in place with Gophone service. The service works very well for me, but not very well in my camp, located in a service area notoriously low. The residents of this area get good U S cellular service, but this service is less in my region of origin. My question is this: can I I put in place a plan for pre-payment with U S cellular and use his sim card in my phone when I'm at the camp and then put my Gophone SIM back in when I get home? My goal would be to buy a monthly pass only to the region, I am when I'm there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello there, Maine-iac50!

Welcome to the communities of Apple Support and congratulations for the new iPhone! It's a big question that you have about the use of the phone with 2 different suppliers. I can understand wanting to be able to use the iPhone in all areas as well. As long as the iPhone is unlocked, you should have no problem moving between carrier SIMs. As long each SIM card is active for each carrier.

    Cheers and enjoy your iPhone!

  • OS update blackBerry Smartphones with another Sim Card

I have a unlocked T-Mobile Blackberry Bold 9900 that needs upgraded software however, I unlocked my phone and switched to AT & T. Which leaves me with the question of the operating system... can I select T-Mobile or AT & T when I reload my OS with an ATT SIM cards on an unlocked T-Mobile phone?

P.S. The reason why I ask because when I insert my battery, my phone has reached 75% charged, then freezes. I tried the "alt + right shift + delete" and the tricks of the 'Safe Mode (back button)'... but they do not work because the phone is completely frozen. This is the reason for my wanting a total reload of the OS.

Sorry for the typos... I use a droid and I want my BlackBerry back.

  • While the iPhone overseas requires a reactivation, which sometimes works, but more often does not work. At the beginning he said that my SIM card was not supported by the activation policy assigned by the activation server.

    iPhone 6

    Network: Verizon

    iOS 9.3.3

Twice now, once in Costa Rica in April and, more recently, in Ireland, while that phone overseas warning reads as follows:

"your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is not reachable. Try to connect your phone to the iPhone to activate it, or try again in a few minutes. If the problem persists contact Apple Support to Apple.com/support. »

    or:

"The SIM card that you have currently installed in the phone is a carrier that is not supported in the title of the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This isn't a problem with the hardware with the iPhone. Please insert another card from a supported carrier SIM or ask this iPhone be unlocked by your operator. Please contact Apple for more information. »

My carrier is Verizon and I replaced the SIM card on my return from Costa Rica end of April despite the fact that the card is unlocked and good, in theory, for international travel,

Before you activate the phone is locked and I can't access applications like camera, that, when I travel, I need over the phone.

Apple says call Verizon. Verizon said, you guessed it, call Apple.

When I return to the States, everything works fine. I thought that the replacement of a SIM card would do the trick, so you can imagine my dismay when the activation warning came after I took the phone off airplane mode after I landed in Dublin and the activation warning came new.

    What is going on?

    I think it's a problem with Verizon.

Our company is on AT & T - and our lawyer have travel all over the world, Africa, London, South East Asia and they have never complained to me than before.

  • SIM card is not supported in the activation

I have a question about activating my iPhone with a different SIM card. I have an unlocked iPhone and I tried to use another (of another carrier) SIM card with it. However, the phone will not turn on and I got an error message indicating that the SIM card is not supported by the initial activation and it isn't a hardware problem. He advised me to call my carrier. So I called my operator and the customer support agent has confirmed that my iPhone is indeed open. Now I'm really confused as to why the other carrier's SIM card is not supported. All SIM cards I've tried with my current provider works with my iPhone. All other SIM cards from other telecommunications companies does not work (I tried 3 others).

Then the phone is not unlocked. Have you asked an unlock of your carrier and they gave him? If Yes, do restore you the phone to factory with iTunes and receive a "congratulations, your phone is now unlocked" message? If this isn't the case, then the unlock code is not complete. You must restore the device with iTunes at the factory, not a backup. When you get the message "Congratulations", you can restore your backup.

  • I got an iphone 4 to a friend in the Canada. I want to use it here in the Philippines as a regular iPad reserved for wifi, how can I use it without sim card? It does not pass the activation page. Help please?

I got an iphone 4 to a friend in the Canada. I want to use it here in the Philippines as a regular iPad reserved for wifi, how can I use it without sim card? It does not pass the activation page. Help please?

You can activate it without a SIM card. If it is locked, it takes a SIM card by the carrier, for it is locked. The SIM card should not be linked to an active line of service, but it must be present to activate it.

  • Don't buy used iPhone 4s, prechecked IMEI whicated it was NOT stolen, however I had no idea of locking Activation. I did buy and install the new sim card, but I'm locked out. New Sim Card would make a difference? Original owner cannot know

The installation of a new Sim Card would affect the ability to unlock Remote Activation?

I bought a used iPhone 4s, prechecked IMEI number, which indicated that it was not stolen, but I had no idea on the lock activation. Former owner is willing to work, but can't figure out what to do (I emailed the help pages Apple), would be the fact that I have installed the Sim Card have affected something

Locking activation is a feature of security built into iOS. Please seethis support document to learn more about locking Activation.

My suggestion would be to contact the original owner and ask him to enter the identifier Apple and password so that you can disable find my iPhone.

    I hope this helps.
