  Hi all

  I have an old Dell Dimension 2400 desktop running Windows XP Pro. It has Microsoft Works 8.5, which contains a reference to Outlook Express 6 icon, so that it can be launched from inside Works 8.5.

  I use NO Outlook Express 6, because I have Outlook 2003 AND Outlook 2007, can I use on it instead, if I want to - which I am not at the moment.

  Anyone in this community know if it is possible to remove the icon from Outlook Express 6 to Works 8.5.

  (and possibly 'replace' the icon with one for Outlook 2003 so that THIS 2003 version opens instead?)

  There is no icon in Add/Remove programs for Outlook Express, or y at - it one in the "all programs" list. Is it possible to uninstall Outlook Express Windows XP completely somehow so that it does not Works 8.5 launch when a user clicks on its ' icon?

  This version of Outlook Express does not work anyway (I tried to set up accounts in there, but they do not work even with the correct details) so it's wasting space on this little hard drive.

  I want to be able to implement this old pc - that works fine as long as I accept his ' limits (Intel Celeron 2.4 Ghz single core cpu, 2 GB of Ram, 80 GB HDD)-for the nephews and my 11 years old 7yr to use it safely for the duties of the school, (I have a copy of the Encyclopedia Britannica 2006) , basic base 'games for kids' Web site, when they come to visit. My nephews have not much experience pc anyway and have no interest in the emails.

  There is no other applications on it (which were not ' provided with Window XP Pro") for the moment, outside Works 8.5 and Windows Live nephews will have access to.

  Norton Internet Security 2012, Norton Utilities, Norton go back 4.2 and control Parental Norton will be also created on this pc with Admin access only.

  Otherwise, anyone here know of any 'other' app is similar to 8.5 Works that have the same characteristics of the task/project based - but without email - that I could use instead, which would continue to operate on an old XP pc?

  I would greatly appreciate any ideas or advice from someone who wants to give it.

  I can probably only partially help because I've never used Outlook or works.
   
  Outlook Express is a part of XP, so it cannot be deleted, and probably, it takes less space than Norton.
   
  Control Panel | Add/Remove programs. Add/Remove Windows components. Find Outlook Express and uncheck the box.
   
  Control Panel | Add/Remove programs. Set Program Access and Defaults. Custom + down arrow | Select the option for Outlook 2003.
   
  Start with that and see where you are.

• What is the best way to give a user the ability to stop a vi or rerun it? I wrote something that works, but I imagine that this is not the best way to do it.

  There is almost never a good reason to use the stop signal stop execution.

  Your loop is fine.  What you really want to do, is make a machine to States which has at least 2 States. 1. perform the test.  2 inactive, waiting for the user to hit a button to re-run, or hit a button to end program.

  Thanks to all those of you who looked at my problem and made suggestions to solve them.

  I decided to go there and try Chrome.

  Since it was not an agreement on the solution to my problem solid (different approaches have been proposed) and I had already tried one number of other approaches based on firefox help, I decided that I had invested enough time to solve the problem and that I would move.

  I always use firefox on my other computer with Windows Vista because I do NOT feel the creeping slowness problem and that he had to constantly restart firefox to regain normal performance on this computer. It uses the same version of firefox.

  It is important to activate the hidden files and folders view.

  Most of the SLCache material will be too, hidden by default and the program data folder.

  Open the C: drive.

  N ° 1)

  Go to C: > Program Data > Adobe.

  Open the Adobe folder and locate the folder named SLStore.

  Rename SLStore old SLStore.

  Navigate to C: > Program Files common files > Adobe.

  Under Common Files > Adobe, find the folder named SLCache.

  SLCache open folder and all its contents to the backup on the desktop folder.  You must create a backup manually and move the content of SLCache.

  Hi, Ive had this laptop for a while now and a few months ago, that the audio was working fine when I was producing my music, I plugged my microphone, guitar wheel, I even put in place a new maschine micro mk2 and he worked well with low latency.   Welcome to the HP support community where you can ask questions, find solutions and get help from others in the community! I read your post on the Forums of HP's Support and wanted to reach out and help with the sound issue that you are experiencing. If you perform these troubleshooting steps, it can help you recover the sound quality.

  Please note: remove all USB devices. Disconnect all devices of non-essential, as these can cause some problems.

  Here is a document titled No. sound from speakers. I know that you can hear sound from your speakers, but you mentioned that the bass sounds as it disappeared. I have provided this document for you because there are steps that can help you to get the sound working properly troubleshooting.

  Are - what you happened to try the audio Troubleshooter? It might be able to solve your problem automatically.

  This is another step to try.

  1. right click the speaker icon in the lower right corner of your time.
  2. click on playback devices.
  3. click on speakers/headphones.
  4. click on properties.
  5. click on the Advanced tab in the Properties window (this also will give you subwoofer settings)
  6. change the default menu Format in the highest quality.
  7. apply properties.
  8. click OK to close the Properties window.
  9. click OK to close the playback devices.

  If none of these options is right for you, you can do a System Restore. System Restore helps you go back to a time when it worked correctly for you.

  You can use the HP Support Assistant's drivers. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updated for Windows 10.

• Compatible audio device and work but no sound

  As I said, my audio device is turned on and explains his work, but there is no sound. It's I will note a new installation of windows vista with all updates. I ran the Fix It program, and he says that the device has been disabled in windows.  Conflicting information? I uninstalled the device driver and enabled windows reinstall several times and downloaded several drivers of various ages, without result. There seems to be none of the similar circumstances in forums, I searched for. If I plug my headphones SteelSeries will pick up through the helmet because it has its own built in driver I think. Not too sure about that last bit but its detected as a different device. I'm currently downloading these two service packs to try. Any information or help would be greatly appreciated.

  Ah, thought of her. Since it was a new installation of Windows, that I needed to install the audio to the mobo driver. Given that I had no cd, I had to find it online. I hope this helps others!

  I turned on my pc and tried not to watch a YouTube video when I realized there is no sound playing. I tried to play a video file saved on my pc, still no sound. tried an mp3 player and still no sound. everything worked very well 24 hours earlier. the green bar on the sound in the status bar icon moves when I play something, but I can't just release anything.

  audio driver: VIA High Definition Audio
  Windows 7 latest updates installed.

  I have spent 10 hours reading all over the internet and have done the usual troubleshooting:

  • system restore
  • Driver update (from disk as well as site)
  • try different audio jacks
  • using different external speakers
  • playback enabled devices
  • System speaker levels are full
  • active volume equalizer
  • used Microsoft Fix it Audio Playback, which is no problem
  • Run the audio Troubleshooter in Control Panel, no problem found

  I even reformatted and reinstalled windows, hoping it would be like, but it was useless because I still have no sound.

  can someone please help me find a fix for this.
  If a system format has not fixed the problem, im only left thinking that its edge is completely dead and I need a new sound card?
