My automatic import of photo stream?

Is it possible to 'turn off' auto importing photos from my photo in the photo library stream, while being able to watch them or possibly save the ones I want? Like the good old of iPhoto is...

I was hoping that the new version of Photos accompanied by the Sierra could solve this problem, but this isn't the case.

Please bring this simple, small option! Thank you!

This isn't an option - if you use MyPhotoStream then everything added to yoru Mac us downloaded and while PhotosStream is downloaded and imported as documented - there is no feature of selectivity in option

  • How to prevent the automatic import of Photos

I plugged my camera into my computer, and the pictures immediately began to import images. How can I stop this? I see nothing in the preferences to achieve this.

When the Import Photos Panel opens, you should see a check mark in the toolbar 'Open pictures for the device'.   Clear this check box and Photos should not open again for this device (until you reformat the card).

The automatic launch can be disabled for each camera separately.

You can try this fix: this Terminal command allows to disable auto-start for any photo application, not just Photos.

    • Open a Terminal and paste this command and press return:

  • Automatic import of photos does not work

For many months, organisateur organizing would automatically add the new pictures I added to the old files. It would also add edited photos. However, on that last a few days, I had to start a search for new images manually. I checked preferences but do not see where this feature can be enabled / disable. Any suggestions?

  • Photoshop will not automatically import my file edited in Lightroom

Can someone help me please? Photoshop is not automatically import my photos into lightroom. When I right click in LR then click to edit in PS, then make some changes in PS and save my changes in Psalm... PS does not save my tiff in LR. Nothing are usually that it's right next to the original file. He was not even at the extreme end either. However, it records in the original folder, where all the RAW files are, so now I have to import them manually into now. Is anyway to fix this?

    DIFFICULTY * 04/05/16

    (1) install Photoshop and Lightroom

    (2) cut & paste the Photoshop installation folder to any other location.

    (3) once he did move the files to a different location, open LR and go to Edition - Preferences - surface-mounted under the surface-mounted go to additional External Editor and click on the button choose. Find the Photoshop .exe (the location where you moved it) and click on choose.

    (4) an image in LR go change In French - right click and choose the second Photoshop.exe not the top one. Once you have click on it a box will appear asking you if you want to change with Lightroom adjustments - click Edit and you will see your photo being opened and also a tiff file will be created right next to the original as it should.

  • Can my photo stream - I import but not export the photos?

I want to import photos from my Macbook to my Mac desktop, but I don't want every photo that I load on my Office Mac sent to my Macbook.  If I turn my photo stream at the same time a copy of each photo on both devices.  I just want to really use the Macbook to feed a few photos to the Mac with only the Mac with a complete copy of my library, not a complete copy of my library on both devices.

Then you could better use Airdrop, e-mail or a USB key, otherwise you would have to remove all the photos that you don't want after that that they had themselves imported.

  • Pictures of Apple: How disable automatic download to "My photo stream" Album?

    Hi all

I mean I too spend opening Photos. I'm not happy at all pictures, but is not today's topic.

I have a huge library converted to opening in Photos. The process was very long, but everything seems fine now.

My library is 90% of the pictures I take with my DSLR in Raw format.

I started to get mad when I found the photos strove to upload photo I added locally in my library to my photo stream (all in RAW and big, very big JPEG).

At the opening, I had an option to disable automatic downloading in the flow of the photo:

This option is essential to avoid the stream function photo to kill your connection, fill all of your iPad, iphone with pictures that you don't want to share with other devices.

I've looked everywhere in pictures an impossible to find where this setting is hidden:

I'm still very very interested get all the pictures that I shot with my iPhone and iPad synced with my Mac, but whenever I have activate 'My Photo Streal' it starts to download all in the flow...

I can't believe they killed opening so that they also in fact almost unusable Photos for customers migrating from Aperture despite.

Is there a hidden feature or the definition of magic to turn off automatic download?

    Kind regards

    O.P.

    No, sorry.

If you use my photos in Photos to Mac workflow, you will automatically download all the new photos in your library for my photo stream as well.

However, you could work with two libraries of Photos - a library that you use iCloud wist and where you download your iPhone and iPad photos and a second, where you keep your RAW files.  Only, you will need to transfer the photos from your library of photo stream for your main library manually.

https://help.Apple.com/photos/Mac/1.0/?lang=en#/pht6d60b524TThismage help explains how to use more than one library.

  • Import pictures disappear when deleting photo stream

When I put photos into albums, I hope that they will be saved in my local library on my Mac, because they were in iPhoto.  But in the Photos when I delete a photo from my photo stream I had imported a local album, the photo is no longer present in the album.  This behavior is meaningless for me, but it happened more than once.  I am running software (OS X 1.3 (350.23.0) pictures 10.11.3,).  I missed something I should do?

When you enable iCloud photo library on your Mac and your iDevices, any action you take (edit, delete, etc.) on a single device is synchronized with all other devices. This is the essence of iCloud photo library.

If you are concerned about the amount of storage space used on your iDevices, select this option to optimize your library local inSettings.

  • If I copy and paste an image file (jpeg, for example) in the folder of photos on my Mac, is it automatically imported in the Photos app?

If I copy & paste an image file (jpeg, for example) that I downloaded from the internet to the folder of photos on my Mac, is it automatically imported in the Photos app? Note that the picture on my Mac folder is the folder that contains the file "Library.photoslibrary Photos".

N ° you must actively import photos with the file-> import... command.

Given that you can delete the file as soon as it is imported - if you have the copy in the library checked preferences - I use a folder called 'imports' on my desk to separate files that I'm importing. Once they are imported files into the import folder can trash.

  • How to automatically import the modified photos in a nested folder changing?

I have a master catalog for all my tens of thousands of photos. This catalog includes hundreds of organized digitally records. Each of them contains the RAW images from a memory card.

I create a new, numbered folder for each download of pictures cards RAW memory of my cameras and then I use Lightroom to transfer the photos from my card reader. In this way, all new folders and their RAW photos appear in the Lightroom Catalog.

Later, I edit some of these photos and place JPEG files edited in a subfolder under the folder source of the RAW image.

The problem is that the nested subfolders and their modified photos not as displayed in the Lightroom library. To do this, I need to import their subfolder and then these photos into Lightroom. Sometimes, I forget. When this happens, the subfolder does not in the library. This is something serious because I have hundreds of these subfolders. If they do not automatically appear in the Lightroom library, I don't know what they and their altered photos exist.

Is there a way to get the CC of Lightroom to automatically import these nested subfolders and photos modified breast? Do not forget that I have create a new source for each RAW/Lightroom Import download folder, and then a file edited JPEG folder nested under each of these RAW images, imported files.

    Thank you.

First of all, allow me to answer your question, and then I would try to convince you not to do at all... I encourage you to read through my reasoning to avoid this type of workflow unless you really need a reason any.

    To import images:

-You can import files in several ways - one is by dragging the files themselves to Lightroom icon in the task bar, which opens the import with the selected folders screen. Then, change the import type 'Add', what matters at the current location.

-You can also click on "Import" and navigate through folders.

-You could also (when you export JPGs) choose the option to import images into Lightroom.

Why do it at all? When you edit your images in Lightroom, you already have the edited photo. Why would you want to export a jpg (probably an inferior copy) with all of the editing done in? Better to export the images jpg when you need to send somewhere (at a printing service, at a web site, in an e-mail message) and rely on the original image edited in Lightroom.

In Lightroom, you can even use virtual copies to create multiple versions of your original image (with different treatments, sizes of harvest, etc.) all based on the unique original image. There is really no need to export copies and bring them back in Lightroom (with the exception of very few cases where the copy is required as part of a specific workflow). You can export a jpg from Lightroom anytime that you need based on the original.

If you import jpg images, you will have two of everything, besides wasting disk space, it clutters things and makes finding and the heavier edition future.

  • Life of the pictures in my photo stream

I have an iMac and a MacBook Air, which I use Photos.app to manage my photos. Some of them were taken using an iPhone (iOS 9.2) 5 c.

I have configured my photo stream to transfer photos from iPhone to other machines automatically.

It is convenient and works without problems so far.

Meanwhile, I decided * not * to activate the iCloud library, because the 5 GB of storage is not enough space for me, and I don't want to move to the paid option now.

As I understand it, after 30 days pictures will be removed from the photo stream.

    My questions are:

1 will be photographs taken at the origin with the iPhone, but included in my photo stream, being kept at least in his local library - or am I at risk of losing them altogether?

    2. If the photos are always in the photo stream and so visible in Photos.app on the iMac (that is, within the limits of 30 days), is there a way to copy some of them to the local library (iMac), I want to use as my permanent repository. This used to be an option with iPhoto, but I'm not sure if there is something equivalent in the Photos.

If not, I guess that means I'll have to transfer the photos manually using iTunes or transfer.  :-(

I missed something? Unfortunately I could not find any clear discussion on this point in the Apple documentation, and a call to Apple's support helped a lot (the guy ended up advising me not to use the stream of photos if I'm not iCloud library...)

1 - the photos are removed from the MyPhotoStream on iCloud - not from the device as their publication, or device to andy who imported the of MyPhotoStream in the library

    2. with Photos for the Mac that is automatic if MyPhotoStream is turned on - all the photos added to the Mac are uploaded to MyPhotoStream and all the new photos in MyPhotoStream and imported in the photo library - perhaps it will help and read the brief description in the preferences of Photos

  • Film vs my photo stream

I tried to move photos from my iPhone to my iMac.  I connected my iPhone to my iMac.  613 photos to import.  Photos of 613 were in my camera.  I have 974 photos in my iPhone photo stream.  What is the difference between the film and my photo stream.  We should I import to save the photos from my iPhone to my iMac and then transfer them to an external hard drive.  Thanks for your comments and help.

Camera Roll is home to these photos taken on your iPhone.  Those are the ones that must be imported.

Photo stream is similar to iCloud photo library and is home to the photos that are already able to share.  They are not necessarily taken on the device that houses.

  • How to remove photos from a photo stream on the iPhone, but keep them on Mac?

    Hello world

I tried to find the answer to my question in the FAQ, but so far I've failed. I'd be really grateful if someone could help me.

I have an iPhone (5s) and a MacBook Air (13 inch, early 2015). I have not activated the iCloud photo library, but I use the photo gallery on both devices. Because I often take pictures with my phone, I'm running out of memory space on my phone.

In regards to this and photo stream feature, I have several questions:

    1. If I want to make more room on my iPhone, I have to delete some pictures. Assuming that I do this, these pictures are deleted from my Mac after 30 days?

    2. How can I remove photos from my iPhone without deleting them from my Mac (because I turned on the feature of photo stream)?

    3. If I import the photos from my iPhone in the Photos App on my Mac (when it is connected to my Mac with a USB cable), they are 'safe '?

I hope that my questions are understandable and I would appreciate all the help I can get.

Thanks to all and best wishes,

    Lars

    1. no - as long as you have allowed MyPhotoStream to import photos - if they have not been imported yet then they will be gone

    2. after importation of pictures you can delete them from the iPhone, and they will remain in Photos of the moments / pictures

3 - Yes - but if you import several times, you will have duplicates - you should use USB or PHM import
