  I found the problem, the top of my phone, never had a line clean but has a small gap on the cover very high for this purpose during any pressure from picking upwards or Pocket etc. He started a lack of support.  When I replaced the new cover, it was a mistake that was the prob! I think bb after 50 days or could have made me happy. cost me $28. IM on my 3rd bb. you know how all these $28 cost would have broken the Bank seeing cost prob is.   I am running Iolo System Mechanic 11 on my machine for detection of spyware, malware, viruses and been with them for 5 years and this has NEVER happened since I was with them. My Toshiba Service Station does not work and tried to contact Toshiba as well, but yet they want the money for technical advice. I know that somebody here is tech savey and I am disabled and do not have the money to repair this laptop so please can someone there give me info on how to get back to his old self of my machine?   As I'm not living in the United States I can't tell where you could get a good price on a new laptop screen. Think you could google stores a bit to find space.
  To know what screen you have, you may ask ASP or Toshiba store where you were already.

  But, if you could manage get a new screen for your computer, you will need to replace it with the damaged and I'm sure that's not as easy as the upgrade of RAM or HARD drive. Don't know how experienced you are in these things, but I'm not on my own, unless guarantee is lost if you do it yourself.

  It's expensive, but better that way then lose warranty or destroy something.

  You can also try to contact the dealer who sold this product or maybe an independent technician in downtown.

  Thank you for your interest for my problem. Another long session of trial and error on this issue. I tried different solutions offer after having read a few other answers users forum, tried to find PowerShell in the M/S Download Center but failed in the present. At the end of the day, I gave up and disconnected.

  I started my PC this morning and found that M/S Windows 7 has set its self, so Windows Update now as it should. What was wrong with Windows for 24 hours? I got a popup saying there had been a failure, and a report was compiled and sent to M/S.

  I tried to reload the McAfee security software but failed, which resulted in an email exchange with a member of the McAfee technical support team that took control of my keyboard and mouse. I noticed that it resets the default values for the original settings and remove the history of Solution Explorer. After these adjustments, I was able to reload the McAfee security software and fortunately my PC is protected and that it works correctly.

  What was the problem with M/S Windows 7 on this occasion is a mystery to me, I thought for a moment that I had picked up a virus. I don't think that this report will be of value to other users?

  Ah ha!  Solved my problem (which is, I get a "Login failed" error when you try to connect with a newly created user)!

  My problem was that I suspected that the permissions on the Directory/Users/Default.  It seems that "Everyone" needs at least read access (which I must have somehow removed).  Also, I noticed that this new directory of the user has not created before the opening of the session of this user (even if the user appears in the list of control panel).

  My suggestion for anyone having this problem would be to check the permissions on the directory C:\Users\Default against a working installation.  But for a quick list, on my system:

  Right click on the default directory (it has hidden directory if you must show hidden files/folders), properties, Security tab

  -' Everyone' and 'Users' (modify, read & execute, list the contents of the file, reading)

  -' SYSTEM' and 'Administrators' (control, modify, read & execute, list the contents of the folder, read, write)

  Hope this is of some use to people.

• Impossible to do a clean install on a Partitioned drive C - the screen of the Machine is a "black screen" after Microsoft NVidia driver updated optional; Cannot roll back.

  Some time before, Microsoft had an optional update for the NVidia graphics driver on a 32-bit F3V ASUS laptop.

  Prior to that, everything worked perfectly. The only problem was with this 'bad' optional driver update that was installed once before; and got the black screen, but managed to make it back this time.

  The machine has two partitions; both have a defined password.

  I lost the password to one of them and have no backup.

  Until the black screen, antivirus updates have been updated.

  The equipment works properly.

  Other than a slight overheating issue while games graphics w/3D acceleration (83 degrees Celsius), the machine works pretty much perfectly.

  The machine display perfectly in safe mode.

  Done the following:

  (1) roll back; has failed because the regular (important) Windows Update has not created a restore point * and * previous restore points had been erased.

  (2) the Startup Repair (without and then with the Windows 7 installation disc). Message says "unable to repair.

  (3) w/installer disk, went to the command line as an administrator, tried to format c: received message "there is not enough space on this partition. Please allocate more space, and then try again. "

  (4) boot safe mode with network, downloaded and successfully installed the updates of the NVidia - graphics driver and still have the black screen to normal startup.

  Went 5) for computer management and cleanmgr without success.

  I'm almost ready to consider a shop.

  If you have compatible hardware and your computer still stops responding, disable any unnecessary material. Remove (USB) universal serial bus devices. Remove or disable network cards, sound cards and cards of the series; and then restart the installation.

  Try the following

  Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

  Click Install now

  Accept the license agreement

  When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

  Press SHIFT + F10 from your keyboard

  type the following commands

  DISKPART

  Press enter

  the list volume

  Next, you select the volume where you want to install Windows 7

  Type: select disk #.

  # represents the number of the volume

  Type: clean

  convert mbr

  create the primary partition

  assets

  format fs = ntfs quick

  output

• SeaTools-BACK does not detect my hard drive, how I should zero my HDD now?

  I use SeaTools for DOS for many years to fill the hard drive of my old ancient PC from scratch and never has a problem. However, today when I had zero fill the Momentus ST9500325AS 500 GB SATA laptop 1 year, I got to know that the last SeaTools for DOS can not find a controller to read my hard drive. My laptop has Intel HM67 chipset. As the 'last' SeaTools BACK has been updated in 2011, I understand very well that Seagate does not update the tool to add the controller of my chipset. So all I want to ask is, how do I zero fill my drive now? Should I go for some other tools? Are they reliable? Please suggest some good I knew that nothing else than seatools for zero fill.

  Hi Satyam,

  Formatting zeros is a comprehensive method of wiping a disk storage. When formatting a storage drive deletes data on the surface, the data can still be recovered until it is replaced. Formatting the storage disk wipes zeros, replaces the data deleted by a series of zeros and then wipe the drive again to make recovery of data beyond the civil means. Zeros of formatting is usually done to hard disk drives and flash drives can also benefit from the method.

• Federal State of emergency - the storm tropical Debby (by calling everything and anyone - Microsoft HELPS!)

  I was on the phone just before tropical storm Debby error due to installation of Windows Update that has been booked to win 8 Preview (does not apply to Windows 7 - all versions) and attempts to roll back has been a complete failure, even if I had backup, because as the registry keys. Couldn't do anything except reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate all over again.

  While I still had power & cable (internet, phone, TV) - tropical storm Debby aka TS Debby took its toll with its constant winds of 50 mph and at night which was "from here to eternity" as we had here nearly 33 inches of rain only, then only officially declared 'State of emergency' by the Governor, and then by the President and then later changed in federal State of emergency due to the extreme damage - tornadoes, floods, damages, death (almost $ 1 billion in damages for the 1st time so there are talks to remove the name of Debby due damages and it will be the first non-ouragan retired). Even at this stage, I have no idea how internet I have before I lose it or power.

  For all that it's like a child playing with a light swich here - on and off, on and off--enough to drive one batty and to the top of the wall. enough, it was that we were without electricity and cable for 33 + hours until power was restored and close to 40 + hours before cable was restored, but even then, he comes and goes like a crazy lunatic.

  What makes it all is the worst, I was in the middle of reinstalling Windows.

  1. What is the complete error message you get with Windows Update?
  2. Have you been able to run Windows Update throughout, without interruption?

  What I did was liquidated with this new OS system in mid-June 2012, given that I backup everything, literally - and after an argument with MS Office Rep who implied I had home and student 2010 and unprofessional more (?) - had to roll back through the disks I had and finally found one that worked... it is in offline mode.

  * sigh *.

  It is absurd given MS Office telling me what I have and what I am not, because I was about to call to my credit card (when JP Morgan and Chase had bought the Wa - Mu, but it is still on the records - I contacted them and rechecked, there he stood, paid - MS Office Professional Plus 2010 - but it was damaged;) MS Office was to provide me with a different key and different download due to a corrupt link and the wrong key. Sigh - and which has been studied; Link corrected and new and key had this time with notice as well as Remote Assistance with security bulletins to make copies of the download on flash, DVD-R, etc. - as well as the key; what I've done as well).   Want to know how far in my files that I had to go to roll back? Way back around the month of March 2010! It's downright absurd - and then put all the puzzles again together, while off line... is absolutely no problem. ANY reason as the old adage goes "fault of a horseshoe the battle is lost... » ; It was because of a critical Windows 7 Ultimate in Windows files were missing and without messing with TM (Trusted Installer); It was a return back, I had to go to get these reviews of the operating system of the files back to where they belong. * sigh *.

  (1) it is not surprising that Windows Update has resulted a failure

  (2) I found out reviewing the other disks that they too, missing files very critical OS, the time when I started to have problems with Windows, Windows Update MS Office - those very files were missing and!

  True, Microsoft (Ohio) sent me a SP 1 of what I had - disc set; to use to install on the motherboard new after literally destroy the card mother original; but it was interesting to the excessive Freedman and the fact that they had marked my State as United States when we were part of the United States before Ohio was - worse, SP 1 edition they had sent me was the European Version (UK) and I found myself with all sorts of problems from there.  Initially for the life of me could not understand why I get all these United Kingdom version this and a European Version of this and worse still have a lot of my Programs stripped Microsoft (I know overseas limited); but it cause my Windows Update is not not able to scan my OS and finally has been installing 64-bit on x 86 (32-bit) on a new motherboard I had just installed in Dec 2011. * sigh *-Microsoft Service Tickets, nobody has been able to reproduce the problems or solve until I realized what they gave me a European Version and the paid postage would be correct if sent overseas mail not the first class in the USA... * sigh *.

  Then turned around and advised to reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate disc of what I already have, but the problem is - my motherboard was ruined; for the European Version is wrecked havoc on everything on my OS completely so I found myself with nothing but had until June to constitute with an OS 64 bit for anyone or sold all x 86 platforms more (32-bit).

  It was really hard to sort this and try to work with Microsoft and everybody else because they have closed the case prematurely when tropical storm Debby hit and I had surgery. With light, turn off / cable, cable - making it very exceeding difficult for anyone (even me) to download whatever it is entirely or if it was, it has been altered due to the interruption of the cable at any given time. Roll back, was a constant option that would drive one to the top of the wall as well as for the support it had been closed even if the region is under a State of emergency federal? It was as if we put the cart before the horse literally.

  With a brand new operating system, having to do it all on my own; I feel insulted and insinuated. Honestly, it's crazy, really, really crazy - they are still working on my phone that still does not work properly or not at all. But for me, on a new 64 bit OS having to go back on an x 86 platform completely new in March 2010 disc for this criticism of missing files in Windows, Win32, WinSys? In other critical Windows files else where - is a tad bit too.  I tell you, I'm surprised I didn't lose the presence of mind because of this crazy here.

  I recently downloaded the Windows Live Essentials(Big mistake on my part!) Beta My computer started running incredibly slow, that I kept getting messages that it stop working, or my msn has been failed, and my Adobe Flash Player... anyway, I uninstalled everything, all this happened from the date I have downloaded everything that. The only thing left is the integrator of device Windows Live and I wonder what he does and is it safe to uninstall.
