  • Windows 8 cursor jumps in the existing text and continues to type here rather than the finish line that I am on, anyone else spotted the same thing?

Just upgraded to Windows 7 to 8, using MS Office Word 2010, worked well on Win 7, but now type text and the cursor suddenly jumps into the existing text and continues typing, rather than the finish line that I'm on.  Thought, I was accidentally touched for touch pad or other keys, so now consciously look for this but can find nothing on my part.  Have experienced it before with a processor OS Linux and Open Source, when the OS has been updated.  Think there may be a loophole to WIN 8.  It also happens when keying in the screens like this, that has happened twice while here. Someone else spotted the same thing?  Or is it just me?

Also, anyone know how to disable "Open Tap" on the Mouse touchpad of the notebook, its annoying, I could disable in WINDOWS 7 but cannot know how Win8.

Thank you very much for your help, the setting was not really there, but you gave me the name of the device, so I was able to download the right driver from

    http://www.Synaptics.com/resources/drivers

above mentioned just in case anyone has the same problem. The site recommend to go with the hardware vendor's website, but ASUS has wrong driver, one of the above works fine.

Its such a relief to be able to settle this problem - THANK you

Lets see if it sorts the problem MS Office too.

  • Unable to disable UAC errors: to continue, type an administrator password, and then click Yes, but he is nowhere to type a password and Yes is disabled.

Original title: to continue, type an administrator password, and then click Yes, but he is nowhere to type a password and Yes is disabled.

Yesterday I just reinstalled Windows 8, replacing the preview of the version and the official version.

I would like to disable UAC and various other things, but I can't.
Do you want the following program to make changes to this computer?
Control parameters of account user (or almost anything from the control panel)
To continue to type the administrator password, and then click Yes.
There is no area password to type in. He 'bumps' when I type. I can only click on the No button or display unnecessary details.
I will not restore the system on a new installation. Apparently, it's an old bug that has never been fixed because you can just tell people to do a system restore and close the book on the complaint. If please post a proper fix and stop wasting users time.
Hi, I know I'm a little late to the party, but I found this post faced a similar problem and thought that post my findings.
I found a work around for this problem, which does not require a reinstall of Windows, but you may lose your user account.
    Summary:
The problem is that in Windows 8, the administrator is inactive by default, you will have to find a way to activate it. You can enable the admin account as an administrator,.
However. Fortunately, (on my machine anyway) it seems that you can access your hidden from the Safemode administrator account. If your first set of objectives will be as follows:
    -starting in safe mode
    -Log in as an administrator
-l' administrator, enable the account administrator similarly.
-Restart your machine and you as an administrator outside of safe mode (normal mode).
From here, you should be free to do what you want. Now that the admin account is active, you are allowed to type a password when prompted (by default that the password is empty). For me, however, when I tried to promote my previous user administrator account (among other things) I noticed symptoms that seem to indicate that the account ceased to exist. I went through measures to set up a new account and get it synced with my microsoft email account.
    -Create a new user account
    -give administrator rights
-remove my old (for some reason, hidden) account
-Sync to the top of my new user account with microsoft e-mail account.
    Directions for use:
    How to get admin access:
(1.) start in safe mode. You can make it easier by opening a command prompt (Start menu-> type "cmd"). And type "shutdown/r/o".
2.), your computer begins to restart, but give you a set of troubleshooting options. Choose troubleshooting->-> start of the Advanced Options settings.
3.) after reboot and enter safe mode, users of contactor by going to the start menu-> click on your user name-> and choose administrator.
4.) Windows will begin the first initialization for this account.
5.) once connected, open the command prompt, this time as a Director. (Make a right click-> Run as administrator).
6.) type "net user administrator / Active: Yes" to set the admin account as 'active'. It will now be shown outside of safe mode.
7.) restart your computer and log in as administrator again. You can now add users and to play with the permissions etc. (metro options are not available in safe mode, where the reset).
How to remove your old account of 'lost' and synchronize your new account with the microsoft account.
1.) create a new account via the control panel users. Don't forget to give you administrator rights.
(2.) to remove your lost old account by typing "net use /del" in an administrator command prompt. You need to know your old account name, good luck with this one.
3.) go into the settings of your pc: open the context menu on the right-> settings-> "change PC settings."
(4.) to go to the users-> Select 'switch to a Microsoft account» tab
    I hope this helps!
  • Freezes while typing - use v 38 on Win8.1; When I type a message in TB, after 5 to 10 words, the screen freezes for 3 to 5 seconds.

I use TB v 38 - HP computer, i7, 16 GB of RAM. computer seems to work very well. But when I type a letter in Thunderbird, I 'blocking' and all the 5 to 10 words, for 3 to 5 seconds. If I continue to type (hard, because I can't see what I'm typing), she "catches up" with me and then is normally again for another 5 to 10 words. • Address bar loses focus when you type the url or search terms

I type a URL or a search query in the address bar. Following is a list of suggestions (from recent history, bookmarks, etc.).

As soon as I type a character which translates by my current url/search string is not found in the list of suggestions, the list goes - and this, the keyboard focus. The focus seems to go nowhere this - I continue to type, and the characters do not appear in the address bar.

I then have to click on the address bar and retype the characters that have been lost during the update went.

For someone who sails with the location bar regularly, this made the location almost unusable.

  • BIOS paswword on Satellite L750D appears

    Hello

I need to change a hard drive on Satellite L750D but when I turn on the computer (with the new hard drive) I got a message that tells me to enter the password of the bios.

The computer's bios has a whitelist?
When I put the old hard drive, I now get the same message.

Is it possible to reset the bios?

    Thank you to

If the BIOS password is set, always ask you to enter the password of the BIOS; It doesn't matter if you replace the HARD drive or not.
If you do not know this password, you will not be able to use the laptop and such BIOS password unknown can be removed by Toshiba approved maintainer.

The BIOS also provides another type of password: supervisor password IE.
A password for the BIOS supervisor, used in combination with the password of the BIOS, is the second security option you have for your laptop. The BIOS supervisor password protects the BIOS settings.
For example, a supervisor of the BIOS password is adjustable to restrict access to the BIOS, to restrict the BIOS user and drive HARD or password to restrict the access to power management features and users without supervisor BIOS password cannot change these settings.

a small suggestion to me: come on in [THIS | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp]
site and download the latest BIOS for your model type. The BIOS update should work and tempo has to stop to give you a message that your BIOS is not updated.

After reading the various posts, I solved the problem.  I disconnected the power and removed the battery.  I then reinsert the battery connected the power cord and press the power button.  Update the BIOS 'recovered', continued, and the system finally started.  I was able to enter my password and the system works normally now.  I'm not a computer expert, so this experience was really scary.  I hope that my solution helps someone else.

I have my Windows as well updates the value of Notify - this way, I get to decide when I want to actually install the updates.  Just a personal whim.    I always create my own restore Points before making changes, too. the computer should do, of course, but I learned to do this on my own.  You can do it whenever you like - just give it a name and it will be there when you want later.  Don't get carried away, though - just so many of them and they take a little space.

  • In Windows 7, why cursor moves when you type, causing need to return the position of the cursor?

After inserting the cursor to start typing, the cursor moves frequently on his own.  This translates into the need to reposition the cursor and enter again before continuing to type.  I can't believe such a lack of basis occurs in the new product, but I can't work out how to remedy.

I also noticed that other measures be taken before I even clicked or pressed enter, taking me where I want to be far away.  I own a computer using XP Professional and have never experienced this problem.  Only since I use my friends laptop installed with Windows 7 I just through that.

I'm not sure I want to upgrade to Windows 7 if it is so cumbersome to work with.

Everyone has noticed this and how is it fixed?

    Thanks much, Jeanette

    Hello Jessen P

Have you looked at drivers as you suggest.  As a result, it became obvious that my friend had not installed the mouse trackball with the software provided with the mouse.  It has been installed.  Cursor action now seems stable.  Thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction.

    Kind regards

    Jeanette
