Could I use this set up with my macbook screen closed? I bring my Macbook to every day, so it must be easily plugged/unplugged. Thank you.

  A dock is not necessary. If you use a USB keyboard and mouse or a BT, it is up to you. I use a BT Magic Mouse and Apple keyboard in my office. That leaves just two things to plug: monitor and the power cord. When you use an external monitor as primary monitor you can close the lid of the computer and it will not go to sleep.

  I have a Dell laptop.  When I turn on the computer, the Dell screen is upright, but when it goes to the Windows login screen, it is backwards.

  You may need to check the keyboard for a mute button and press it. Otherwise, it might be a combination of keys. You can also try to change the settings of volume and mute in the OS Control Panel > sounds and Audio devices > Volume. If everything fails, the search with the keyboard model or model of the PC/laptop or post in the forums hardware/OS can help.

  I don't think it's a Firefox issue, but the keyboard shortcut is Ctrl + Alt + [key]. CTRL + Alt + up should put your monitor in the right direction.
