My computer freezes after a normal startup
My computer crashes after the normal start time randomly I do nothing especially when it freezes. I ran malware bytes, SuperAntiSpyware, Avast and nothing was found, I also ran windows defender and malicious Microsoft removal tool. I am running Windows XP Pro. SP3. I can run the PC in safe mode and mode safe mode with networking, but as soon as I run it in normal mode it freezes all the time. I'm at my wits end trying to fix can someone help please.
Take a look in the system and Application logs in the errors and warnings event viewer and post here the copies. Do not post on that more than 48 hours ago.
You can access event viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, and Event Viewer. When searching for the meaning of the error, information about the event ID, Source and Description are important.
A tip for posting copies of error reports! Run Event Viewer and double-click the error you want to copy. You will see a button resembling two pages. Click on the button and close Event Viewer. This places a copy of the report to your Clipboard. Paste it into the body of your message. Make sure that it is the first dough right out of the event viewer.
Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
- Type the following command and press ENTER:sfc/scannow
The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

Unfortunately the windows restore has no restore points and was not yet active. AAAAAAHHHHHHH. I just got this computer last month and it's been great, and now I'm back to being a tech. Large.

· The computer hangs or crashes the browser when it is on YouTube?
You can check the same thing using the link below.

My computer is a Del Latitude E5400, Windows XP.
The mouse moves sometimes, and most of the time the clock stops. I'm unable to open or close all the windows. Ctrl alt del does not work. The screen saver will not kick on. I changed the settings so that the screen saver and low-power modes never come and it still doesn't work. I found this disabiling prevents event log driver to lock up. What should I do now?It turns out that there is a conflict between the power of Windows setting and the Dell Control Point. Dell power control turning on 'Never' resolved this problem.
I want to thank all that replied to this question. It was really hard to diagnose.

My computer freezes after startup or during startup. Whenever I look at the problems and solutions in Control Panel, it says that my nvidia graphics driver has stopped working properly and should be updated but I checked and installed the latest version. What else could I try? I would appreciate the help as I have had this problem before and it stopped for a while and started again.
Thanks-James

My pc freezes during a normal race, does not freeze in safe mode
My computer crashes after the normal start time randomly I do nothing especially when it freezes. It seems to help if I constantly move the mouse so it doesn't freeze. I ran malware bytes and nothing was found, I also ran mcafee, norton, windows defender and malicious microsoft removal tool. I can run the pc in safe mode and mode safe mode with networking, but as soon as I run it in normal mode it freezes all the time. I'm at my wits end trying to fix can someone help plz
No I have not used all anti-virus durning in the last two weeks to try to find a virus but have had no luck. I have run both antivirus software and uninstall it once I use it I am currently only running windows Defender
If you care to try...
In safe mode, create a new user account with EXACTLY the same privileges as the other.
Reboot, logon to the account again in NORMAL mode. It freezes on you also?My point of view (speculation only): maybe your old user account is damaged.
P.S. running with ONLY windows Defender may not a good idea. Install a good AV (anti-virus) program. I do not make recommendations when it comes to AV.
I'm very curious. You have used Norton and McAfee and uninstalled them. Don't you have to pay for them? They have trial versions?t-4-2

HP G62 laptop computer: laptop freezes after startup
After starting my laptop freezes. How long after starting varies. Sometimes it will freeze after only a few minutes. Sometimes it can be operational for an hour or two. Want to know how to fix this.
Tested hard drive and the Long DST failed. Has given an ID of the failure of QAGCHR-5GH847-XDOO3A-61AKO3. Product ID is XHO66UA #ABA.
Hello
Error code 24 characters is a failure of the entire test (DST) disk Self and would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced. This is also consistent with the freezing issues you describe.
If you want a guide on replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.
Kind regards

Computer freezing and startup repair does not solve the problem.
fix my computer when windows start dump then launch startup, but does not solve the problem. Can you help me solve the problem
Hi Wwiese,
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
I understand from the description of the problem, the computer freezes in the commissioning on the Windows 7 computer.
I would appreciate if you can help me with the following information.
1 were there any hardware or software changes made on the computer before this problem?
2. are you able to boot into office?
3. you receive an error message/code?
I suggest you try these methods and check if it helps.
Method 1
Disconnect all external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) drives, etc...) Except the keyboard and mouse and then start.
If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue. Then download drivers software updated for this particular device.
Method 2
Try to start in last good known Configuration and see if you can start very well.
Using the last good known Configuration
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/is-is/Windows7/using-last-known-good-configuration
Method 3
Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists, if the question does not persist then perform the clean boot and check if the problem resolves.
Step 1
Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed. Please click the below mentioned link.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
Step 2
Put the computer in a clean boot state to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow step 3 from the link to start the computer to a Normal startupmode.
Method 4
If the problem persists, I suggest you perform a startup repair and check if it makes a difference.

Windows want to HP 7 freezes picture windows at startup after a stop
HP ENVY 700-327C of office computer running windows 7. The first image of windows freezes when starting after his stop. Will restart after system recovery. Any ideas?
Hello stevecnm,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.
I understand that your computer hangs at the Windows startup screen when it starts after a stop, and I guess you mean it starts after a repair system no recovery.
If I am incorrect and it is the recovery of the system, then the problem you describe seems to be a physical problem and I think it would be better if you contact HP Support for service options.
If however it is the repair of the system, I would recommend that you follow the steps I outlined below:
Step 1. Click Start
Step 2. Click on all programs
Step 3. Click on accessories
Step 4. Right click on command prompt
Step 5. Click on run as administrator
Step 6. Type "sfc/scannow".
Step 7. When the scan is finished restart your computer
If the problem is resolved, we are done.
If the problem is not resolved, then I recommend that you look at and follow the HP Support document: backup of files (Windows 7), which will guide you through to ensure your personal files are stored. Once your personal files are backed up correctly I suggest review you and follow the HP Support document: performing a recovery of HP (Windows 7) system, that will repair your computer back to factory settings.
If this does not solve your problem then I think it would be better if you contact HP Support for service options.
I want to thank you for display on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
