My current computer can handle simple changes?

After much frustration trying to use the trial version of CS5 to test my machine, I learned that the trial software does not accept certain formats.  So, I tried to convert MPEG - 4 to .wmv.  With .wmv wouldn't follow the video with audio in the preview screen and my processor is clocked at 98% of its capacity.  Now, I don't know if it's because the trail version will not work with either MPEG - 4 formats .wmv GOLD or my computer is too underpowered to use this software for a very simple Assembly.

I am trying to decide if I can buy and use this software to make simple changes and transitions with titles on AVCHD with my current computer.  My computer is a laptop from Sony with 64-bit, Intel Duo Core 2.2, HD 400GO, which runs at 5 400 rpm, 4 GB of ram and a mobile intel GM45 exprress chipset mobile intel graphics meida accelerator 4500M HD and 1695 MB total graphics memory max.

Two questions:

1. can I use this software to make simple changes on the computer that is listed above?

2. is there a format that I can convert the video to that will work in trial software so that I can continue to learn the software in my Lynda.com video tutorials before you purchase the software?

Robert, I remember my friend Tony Donatelli's response when I asked him how much I needed to change my my Canon 5 d Mark II memory H.264 files.

"ALL THIS!", he said.

Joking aside, he was telling the truth.

You are to halfway there buddy.  Don't give up now.  Believe me, paradise awaits you and 100 virgins as well.  All you have to do is somehow convince your wife/girlfriend you need to buy a nice desktop computer who smokes.

I picked up a used MacPro and it changed everything.  MacBooks used to smother these video files and this unit to chew threw like a glutton.

If funding is a problem, you might consider buying the full version of Premiere ELEMENTS for what you call your simple edits and take the money you saved and apply to the purchase of a brutal desktop computer.

I would definitely stick with the Adobe platform, however.

These Adobe forums are incredibly helpful and I found that it is the case with the forums of Final Cut.

Good luck!

    -------------------------------------- Device Drivers --------------------------------------------------

Go to your computer manufacturer's support web site and search for Windows 7 drivers for your specific model number.

If there are Windows 7 drivers there is a good chance your computer supports Windows 7.

Download the drivers to a folder on your hard drive, burn it to a CD and once Windows 7 installed, install the drivers (all), starting with the mother/chipset, LAN, Audio, USB, SATA card, drivers, and so on.

  • I want to switch from XP to 7, but the Upgrade Advisor does not work; How will I know if my computer can handle?

I'm worried that maybe I need to upgrade my computer before you upgrade to Windows 7, so I would really like to Upgrade Advisor to tell me what I need.  But whenever I try to run it, it just turns and turns and turns (I mean, more than two hours) without ever come up with anything.  So what I do now?

If you want to know if your computer with Windows XP will be able to handle Windows 7, check system requirements Windows 7 on http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/system-requirements.

Compare with your own system, right-click on the icon for my computer and then click Properties.

As long as you an update from XP to 7, the only option you have is Custom installation so there is no sense to the current programs with Windows 7 compatibility check. The thing you should be concerned is the material part. Check the 3 main material that requires compatibility: CPU, RAM and disk space.

  • HP Envy h8 - 1520t - can handle multiple monitors?

I want to buy an additional monitor or two, but I don't know if my computer can handle them. According to the specifications of my computer, it has an AMD radeon hd gpu 8570.  Is there any specific kind of connection vga, hdmi, dual-link dvi to run the installation of the multiple monitor? If yes what kind of adaptors/cables do I need?

It does not matter at all.  Most video cards have only one of each type of connector.  The key is to use the appropriate adapter if necessary.  Furthermore, carefully follow the instructions in the guide.

How can I configure my computer to the simple click with the mouse to double-click to open an item on the desktop instead

    Hi placebow,

Open the Options folder by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, appearance and personalization, and then clicking Folder Options. On the general tab, click single-click to open an item. (To return to the standard click, click double-click to open an item.)

The setting applies not only at the office, but also in other areas of the shell.

If you buy a version upgrade, you can, as long as the new computer has a licensed version earlier of Windows on them.

What you reinstall? The dll is part of the traditional DAQ driver.

  • What is the maximum number of messages/files that Thunderbird can handle?

I plan to migrate from Outlook (2007) to Thunderbird (on a PC MsWin7 - Ultimate 64-bit). Unfortunately, I have a lot of historical emails that I still have and periodically reference; Currently, these are several PST files. Reading some of your prior support questions, I discovered that Thunderbird use monolithic mail a database, apparently mapped in the structure of normal file/folder of the operating system (i.e., anything that the user selectable, as supply of PST files); but that Thunderbird will suck in all messages from Outlook PST files during installation, assuming that all of him are open at the time of the installation of Thunderbird (?).

QUESTION: Which is the case, is there the ALL LIMITS on the number of files or messages that Thunderbird can handle?

No, I really am aware, other than the available disk space on the computer.

The limit of 4 GB (per folder) on local files was lifted, but I don't know that I hope the fix. SO think 4 GB as a limit on the size of the folder.

I'm not aware of any practical limit to the number of accounts. I've heard hundreds and dozens of personally.

I guess that the file system file size limit still applies, but because it is in windows 7 from 16 to 256 TB in Windows 8, I don't think it's really a matter of concern. (I have not heard a single hard drive this size still).

With optional mailDir structure to store messages in Thunderbird 38 (a mail a file), then even this limit is theoretical, otherwise than for the overall index and the index file. Note that this is an option for 'New' accounts, those not imported and is not the default.

Y at - it a registry key to check if the current user can install a windows updates? also, what registry key that is used to verify whether a user is an administrator or not. Thank you...

There is no need to check the registry keys to see if you can install updates or not.

You just need to be connected to an administrator account to install the Windows updates.

You can check if you are in an administrator account by trying taks simple administrattor. For example. Try to change the time system.

If you can change the time, you are an administrator; no other.

  • This (software) reader can handle a wide range of video formats

I need locate a video file viewer that can handle a wide range of formats high definition (HD).

    • My VIXIA M400 MOV files,
    • My T2i MTS files,
    • My grandson uses files from an underwater camera cheap Coleman, MOV
    • The M2TS files are conversions of the Coleman camera MOV files, and
    • MOV files that a friend took on her camera NIkon underwater, AW100.

Over time, there may be other/other video formats, but for the moment a viewer who can see all of these movies would be great.

All the these are HD files.  AVCHD, I think.  All are captured on SD or SDHC or micro-SD cards.

I don't want software that "imports" SD cards to the computer files.  I'm not editing software.  I don't want to not cataloging software.  I want just a simple software which will see the files a wide range of HD (and I do not whether I'm a posting in HD).  When I saw them and decided to use (and not use), I'll then work importing and editing using the video editing software enough high-end I own.  But first of all, I would like to just see what I captured.

I looked and looked without success.  Frankly one of the most difficult files for me to see types are MOV files that come from the VIXIA.

Somehow, I don't think it should be as difficult as it seems to be.

Okay, I could have answered my own Q.

ArcSoft is 'VideoConverter 8' software that does a good job taking all sorts of file formats and transform them into other formats (especially useful for iPod, iPhone, Facebook, YouTube and similar items).

This software sells for about $30 and to view the files that are about to be converted.  I guess the idea is that if you don't like what you see, you do not convert.

In any case, it seems to manage all file formats I mentioned.  So I guess I found my own answer.  Wasn't easy, but I found it.
