Re: Satellite L300 - 11 c - HDD which is built in?

Hello
I would like to know if the hard drive in the L300 - 11 c is SATA or IDE. Are they particular size or fit any disk 2.5 "?
Any help would be appreciated :)

Thank you very much

Hello

I have the Satellite L300 too so I can say that this laptop uses SATA hard drives. So if you want to buy a new HARD drive, you should buy one with SATA or SATA2 interface. Both will work in Satellite L300.

In addition, you need a normal 2.5 HARD drive. These drives are designed for the use of the laptop.

If you have any other questions, please let us know! :)

  • Satellite L300 - Toshiba Recovery Disck, which it stores?

    Hello

my experience with computers is very limited, so I'll use very simple language and perhaps a few stupid words.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L300. I want to restart because of the research and discussions that have been made through it.
I know that even if I delete them in my story they still remain in the hard disk, HHD.
So I tried restarting my pc, I contacted computer guy who sold me the pc and it said that I can use a recovery disk to recover my original windows but it does not mean that this disc will also install the memory of old?

In short, I was to start my pc to get rid of all the images, discussions msn, google search since my pc.
Its history, those who are still keept in the pc but I can not access.
I have not yet created my recovery disk, but it will include my old files and history? or just windows and drivers?

    Hello

If I understand correctly you want to format (call you it, restart) files from your hard drive to remove information such as history, no one can read.
Please, do not forget if you even format your hard drive, it is always possible to recovery all data from your hard drive.
As I know, there is a good software called Tech clear, it can destroy all data on your hard drive and almost impossible to recover safely (depending on which algorithm use the choice). But I don't understand why you need. You have something special?
Talking about recovery disk, you can do a fresh install, but old information can be retrieved by special utilities.

  • Satellite L300 - hard drive upgrade

    Hey guys,.

I had a quick search, but I'm sorry if this has already been asked and answered successfully... But anyway.

My girlfriend has easily filled its 120 GB hard drive and wants to expand. I see that it can be improved in two other sizes (including the 360 GB), but which is the maximum? I am able to get a hard drive say 500 GB/1 TB in size?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Satellite L300 supports SATA HDDs and this means that there is no capacity limit. So, you can also install disk 500 GB or 1 TB, which should be no problem.

Interface SATA has no capacity limits older IDE interface so Don t worry about the size. Just buy a model that you think that it s ok. It is only important that it s 2.5 HARD drive with SATA interface.

In addition, the Exchange is described here:

    Hello

    Satellite L300 supports SATA HDD!
SATA controller having no physical limit, you should be able to use any HARD drive 2.5 SATA. So, for example, a 500 GB 2.5 SATA 5400 RPM HARD drive should be compatible.

  • Re: How to install HDD on Satellite L300-19Y?

    Hi guys

I'm not too good with computers but have bought a new HARD drive for my L-series I've been informed that my HARD drive is maybe broken due to errors when I perform chkdsk checks and the fact that it freezes and crashes randomly.

In any case, could someone tell me how to install the HARD drive? I bought an another similar to the original hitachi in the laptop, that is to say sata, 2.5 ", but got a 250 GB, rather than the 160. What I have to install anything, or have complicated everything to do? I don't know how to install it physically just don't know if I have to use my discs of recovery or something like that?

    Bravo guys

    Hello

There is no difficult things to do to swap the HARD drive. Which is a fairly simple process and he s done in 5 minutes I think.

I have the Satellite L300 in front of me. To swap the HARD drive, turn off the laptop and remove the battery and the AC adapter. On the underside, you can find the cover of the HARD drive which is fixed by 2 screws. Remove the screws and the cover of the HARD drive, you are now able to exchange the HARD drive.

If you have any other questions, please let me know! :)

    Hi Klaas-bcs,

Your laptop belongs to the series of PSLB0A and that's why you can get all the drivers Toshiba Australian page:

You re right that there are different factors listed, but if you have a Realtek WLAN card you must download the Realtek RTL8187B Wireless LAN driver

  • Satellite L300 (PSLB0H-01P00F) - which is my max RAM?

    Hi all
I would like to know if anyone knows what is the maximum RAM on my Satellite L300 (PSLB0H-01P00F). It came with a default 1 GB and I have now traded as a 2 GB card. But there are 2 slots for RAM... a top slot and a lower slot. At first I tried to add the 2 GB card in the top slot, I hoped would give me 3 GB, but my laptop does not recognize the additional memory after reboot. I pulled out the card of 1 GB of the slot bottom and replaced by the 2 GB card and the top slot was left empty. The laptop has recognized the 2 GB card this time after reboot. So at least I know that the 2 GB card is not defective.

I tried looking for info on my model number on the net, but only found a source (Hong Kong computer store price list) who has had my model number and he said that the max is 4 GB.

So I was wondering if my top slot is broken. Is anyway to check? Sorry, but I'm a little computer illiterate when it comes to detailed diagnosis.

If it helps, my DirectX Diagnostic tool displays the following parameters for the memory and the swap file

    Memory - 2038 MB RAM
Page 1263 file being used, 3047 MB of available space
    DirectX version - DirectX 10

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you very much

  • HDD Recovery Fail on Satellite L300 Vista

I'm arrogant and not install virus protection software and eventually get drowned in the spyware rather than go through the hassle of trying to remove each of them so that they slow down the computer to a halt, I decided to restore the factory State.

It seems easy, but now after the first part (a command window with a percentage) he told me that he had no HARD drive recovery.
What can I do now that I can't use my computer, I don't have a Vista disc because Toshiba has asserted that I could recover from the hard drive I could use XP if there is no quick fix I have a drive for this, but how easy is it to find and install all the drivers, incidentally It's a Satellite L300.

I have no idea why the recovery partition does not work that way, while the guys do you recommend I do?

    Thanks, man.

    > It seems easy, but now after the first part (a command window with a percentage) he told me that he had no HARD drive recovery. What can I do now that I can't use my computer, I don't have a Vista disc

Have you tried to start the HARD drive recovery?
Simply press the F8 key after laptop powered upwards and choose fix my computer.

Usually, this will help you start the recovery disk again.

If this is not possible then you will not be able to recover the laptop without the Toshiba recovery disc.
He really stupid situation if you didn't create the recovery disk before this problem happened :(

Well, your last chance would be this site:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

Here you can order a new Toshiba Vista recovery disk

    Good bye

  • Satellite L300-1DN - CPU which is compatible

    I HAVE A TOSHIBA SATELLITE L300-1DN THAT:

CPU INTEL CORE DUO T3400 2.16 GHz
    3 GB RAM
    GPU INTEL GM4500M

What is the processor MORE POWERFUL THAT CAN REPLACE? LIST OF THE CPU?
HOW CAN I INSTALL THE MAXIMUM RAM?
CAN I REPLACE WITH A GPU MORE POWERFUL? WHY IT RUNS at 400 MHZ GPU WHEN COULD GET to 640 MHz?

    SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLIHS

    Hello

In General, upgrading CPU on mobile computers is not supported. Toshiba has a very useful document and you can find it here.
A more powerful processor means more heat and it can be risky for the material. Each laptop model has certain designed cooling system to maintain the optimal material temperature and protect from overheating. Because of all these aspects CPU upgrade could be quite risky.

A long time ago I ve tested upgrade CPU on my old model P300. Believe me I didn t notice a performance boost. Not at all. Later I ve passed RAM to max level and exchanged the SSD HARD drive.
It was the right decision and these updates is supported and without any risk.

Satellite L300 is a quite old but still good machine for daily activity. My advice for you is to upgrade RAM and use SSDS. Of course install Win7 32 bit and, believe me, your machine will be very fast and you really happy with it.

  • Satellite L300 - cannot install Microsoft updates after replacing HARD drive

I am repairing a Satellite L300, which had a dead HARD drive. I replaced death 160 GB of HDD with a 500 GB WD, then used the recovery disks to install Windows Vista SP1 at the exit of the State of the box.

Now, Windows update does not work, won't install autonomous not of Vista SP2 I downloaded, MS Security Essentials moved there also.
Then I borrowed a 160 GB of work and went through the same process and everything works fine.

To make it work with a 160 GB HARD drive, but not a 500 GB HARD drive. Why?

    > ... Standalone Vista SP2 I downloaded will not be installed
Usually after installing recovery image, you have just to connect laptop to internet and after a short period of time, you will get messages about available Windows updates. Just install the offered updates process automatic Waterer and install important updates only.

Let the system to install all the updates and don t force the installation of some own downloaded stuff.
Last month I've updated HARD drive (320 GB I think) and installed Win7 on friends L300 and I didn't noticed any problem here.

  • Satellite L300 will not start

    AY up!

I have a rather old L300 series which I'll put up like a computer diagnostic car dedicated. It does not attempt to start up, at all. I changed the RAM (2 GB) and hard drive (XP system) both with new components. The original, Vista hard drive, is in rude health.

When you turn it on, the fan works, but nothing on the screen or the LEDs, I did the obvious things, any other ideas?

    AY up!

My Toshiba Satellite L300 series shot tools. I changed disk cards and hard memory, put new components in both cases. Thinking that maybe the BIOS battery, I put the machine in charge. Nothing.

When I turn on, the led lights green power as does the charging light when it is connected, then the fan starts. It is not "beep" to indicate the beginning of the start, nor does the HDD LED light. The battery is old, but still has enough power for 30 minutes running. On battery? Similarly.

I did the standard things here, any ideas as to what I can do? I'm talented mechnically but computers are a book closed for me.

    Help, please...

  • Satellite L300 - fails during the installation of recovery

Today I took delivery of a recovery disk bright, shiny, new, directly at Toshiba. I was under the impreession it would erase all HDD and recreate a factory install with the recovery of HARD drive partition (which is what I want), but it fails every time in the same place with the following error message:

[WARNING] W\:Sources\Boot.wim [unzip the file: (seq. 90)-> file corrupted block at offset D 024 8020]

Any ideas how to solve this problem, or I've been waiting for 2 weeks for a failed CD?

    TA, Fred

    Hello

I also have Satellite L300, but never had a problem with the Toshiba restore disk.

What happens if you install Windows using a disc of Microsoft? It works or you get an error message too? If so, it could be a hardware problem, HDD, RAM, or something else.

Also I've read here in the forum that it sometimes useful to format the whole HARD drive before using the Toshiba recovery disc.
    Check it!

  • Satellite L300-1BB - I need some drivers and I can use AHCI?

I installed Win XP (Service Pack 3) and then downloaded the driver AHCI Toshiba Web site storage, but I can't install it because of the demands of the driver.

File "Readme" for the driver package indicates that it works only with higher processors (e.g. dual-core).
My Satellite L300 has Celeron M520.
Can I use the AHCI mode in this case? If I use AHCI (SATA HDD) with Celeron which driver for XP I need?

And I don't know what touchpad, modem and WiFi drivers I need to install.
I don't know the exact specification of this model (which is exactly inside).

Stand by. Let's since the beginning and clarify everything step by step.

How you installed the Windows XP SP3 home edition? Have you installed using compatibility mode?
