My D drive is full. Ready Boost NVCACHE is the only file on it.

original title: NVCACHE

My D drive is full. Ready Boost NVCACHE is the only file on it. Clean disk does not help, and the system will not let me delete the file. How can I solve this problem

Hello

1 how long have you been faced with this problem?
2. what exactly happens when you try to delete it?

This is perhaps due to ReadyBoost enabled on drive D.

Try to turn it off and check what is happening.

  • my c drive is full, can I save on the d drive or some programs to transfer to d to give me more space on c

I have a 240 ACER travelmate 18 GB C drive and 10 GB - drive D, C being 17,84 full and D 9.97 free system is running very slow and does not allow me to add more programs. Is it possible to transfer some D-Drive programs to enhance the capacity of C-drive work

    Hello

There is no direct way to move the program to the C: drive on drive D:, uninstallers to your C: drive and then re - installed on the D: drive. Understand what programs consume the most space; you don't have to bother with little things.

    Try the following methods:

Method 1: Move the browser cache

By default, Internet Explorer spends a huge amount of disk space for your cache. Move the cache on your D drive.

Open Internet Explorer > click Tools > click Internet Options > general tab > (Temporary Internet Files) > under settings > move folder.

Method 2: Move your temporary files folders.

By default, these files are on your C: drive. Create folders on your D: drive called TMP and TEMP, then: (right-click my computer) > Properties > Advanced > Environment Variables > and change the two folders listed in the albums section, such that they point to the files newly created on your D: drive.

Method 3: Change the size of the virtual memory paging file.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/sysdm_advancd_perform_change_vmpagefile.mspx?mfr=true

    Hello

I have a toshiba Satellite L650/0ed, it's good if I use more than one drive 8 GB flash for "ready boost" - what is the maximum number of using flash-drives can devote to the "ready-boost.

In addition, if I use a 16 gb flash drive, will this affect more memory "ready boost".

Why the 3.5 drive seagate expansion 1 TB is not compatible for ready-boost.

    Thank you
    -Brent907

    Hi mate

Please check this Microsoft page that describes the ReadyBosst
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/ReadyBoost

There, you can find this statement:
+ ReadyBoost works with storage devices more flash. In Windows 7, it can handle more memory and even multiple devices * eight *, for a maximum of 256 GB of additional memory. +

I hope this can be useful!

  • The boot on my iMac drive is full for the docking station does not,.

My boot drive is full, so will not show the dock, I can't see the files to delete and make more space. Safari works well, and the files on the drop down menu Apple I have opened recently, always open, so I don't think that the iMac is broken - full. How can I get files to delete and make more room?

Start safe mode and delete or move files and applications is no longer, you need or use ff of the drive up you jave enough space. DO NOT delete system files or you could end up with a very unstable system. You can move large libraries like your music, pictures and videos on an external drive.

  • Flash drive, write protected after the use of Ready Boost

I have a 8 GB USB flash drive, and I've been using ~ 4 GB for Ready Boost for quite a while now. When I tried to write something on the drive recently, I get a message saying that it is write protected. I tried to change the size of the cache, but has nothing - no error and no change. Tried turning off RB for the drive and nothing. There is no protection switch on the drive, so nothing to break. Tried to restart, refomratting the drive - no joy.

Only, I could get a new drive because they are so cheap, but this one has a MicroSD in it like a separate disk drive, so I would keep

    Hello

You can remove your usb flash drive write protection using the method below:
    a. open the start menu, in the search bar type regedit, and then press ENTER. This wil open the registry editor.
    b. navigate to the following location:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies
    Note:
If StorageDevicePolicies registry key does not exist, you must create it manually.
    c. highlight StorageDevicePolicies, and then create a new DWORD called WriteProtect (32-bit).
    d. double-click the registration key in the right window, and then set it to a value of 0 in the value data box
    e. press OK
Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 322756 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/ ) how to back up and restore the registry in Windows
