My desktop icons are flashing very quickly whenever I start Windows

I used the Scanner Microsoft to scan my computer because my Norton was not picking up anything because I knew that something was wrong (Yes Norton is up to date). The Microsoft Safety Scanner picked up 4 Trojan horses and he said that it had removed the. Usually, icons glitter automactically office if I simply click on the desktop and don't stop until I click on the bar tasks. I clicked on the desktop after that viruses have been filed to see if that was the problem and flicker more. I thought that I had finally fixed my computer until I turned on today and after Windows starts he has started making new flicker. I also tried the system restore, and he said that it was not successful. If it wasn't the virus that was causing it, so what?

P.S. I'm running on Windows Vista SP2 and I'm not sure of the brand or model of my monitor, but I know it's the driver that he has "Dell ST2210 (analog)" and the driver who is the graphics cards is "ATI Radeon HD 4350". My computer is a Dell Studio 540 and it is a desktop computer.

Hello

1. do you have the question persists in clean boot mode?

2 - is the screen flickers or icons on the screen flickers?

Method 1:

If the screen flickers, try changing the refresh rate of the monitor

Flicker of the correct monitor (refresh rate)

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/correct-monitor-flicker-refresh-rate

Method 2:

If the problem is not resolved, I suggest to create a new user account and check if the problem persists.

Create a user profile.

If the new user profile resolves the problem, you can fix the corrupted profile.

    Hello!

I had a somewhat similar to this problem and that's what I tried.

He temporarily stabilized my problem but I have a serious type of divorce

problems with my beloved once Windows 7. However, in your case, it may be

    the solution.

    This is the procedure:

    (1) power on your PC or laptop

    (2) when he started, start pressing and releasing the F8 key till you get the windows

Fix the Page (I don't remember the exact name, but it's a screen with many options).

    (3) among the options is "Last known good Configuration", click it. See if that fixes the problem.

    (4) If this does not work, then you need to try other options, namely:

    (A) the Startup Repair

    (B) the system restore

    (C) verification of memory

    (D) command prompt:

(The last option would have been a godsend, but it does not work in the console command prompt.)

    I'll tell you about it...)

If all the above methods fail, try this method (it worked for me temporarily). This method is an option only when you

are able to access the above page and when you have administrator privileges. Then, when you're on the screen above, you will see these options:

    Safe mode

    Safe mode with network

Choose the second option. If all goes well, you will be at the level of the office. On the desktop, right click the command prompt icon. If you don't have a shortcut cmd, no problem. Press start and type cmd or command. Right click on cmd and then click "Run as Administrator".

    * Now in the command console, type chkdsk/f/r (the space after the chkdsk command is optional). You may get a message that you can schedule chkdsk at the next restart, treatment is (Yes).

Then, in the same type of console sfc/scannow. If all goes well, it will rectify errors of all the files on your system.

Note: If you please ensure that your battery is 100 pc loaded before you try it. or better yet, let him charge while you do this.

    Keep me posted.

    All the best!

I just applied the February patched to my laptop running vista Home premium. I now have a new icon on the bar called "intel graphics media accelerator driver for mobile' tasks and my desktop icons are scattered. What's past and how to fix it. I can't find mention of the graphics accelerator intel in the list of applied patches.

    Suggestions:

    1. go into "View Update history" > mark down the KB # of you February patch.
    2. If your Windows Update is set to Auto, change it to manual.
    3. do a system restore. Choose the date before you install the latest Windows Update as your restore point.
    4. If everything is back to normal after the system restore, ask a question in the Windows Update forum. Ask if this KB # is required to install or if you can ignore that.
at the moment I am unable to go to the Windows Update forum. So I can't give you the link to the forum. You will have to do it yourself.
    5. soon you will receive the new update available. Check the update. If you find the same update you have problems with, don't install this one until you get the answers from experts in Windows Update.
