I play runescape and lately to get java error on my desktop icons very much, they are labeled hs_err_pid followed 3 different numbers, help please

    Hi madsman,

Thank you for using Microsoft Windows forum

For better support please give us the exact error code.

This could well be a virus problem. If your step would be to run a full scan of PC online using the following link:
    http://OneCare.live.com/site/en-us/Center/whatsnew.htm
Then, go to your Control Panel and open "Programs and features" and tell us what version of the Java Application you have.

If you have a Version that is older, then you must remove the older version of "Programs and features" and install the latest version by visiting here: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

It is normally acceptable to load new versions of Java on top of older versions, but in this case we want to start over with a latest full version.

Scroll down a bit to the "Download Windows Section" and download/install "Windows 7".

After download/install this newer version. Close all windows and applications that may be running and "restart" your computer.

Then click the link once more to return to the download page and select the link that reads "Check Java has been installed properly" If the application downloaded/installed correctly then this test will let know you that Java is working properly.

Your last step would be to run a malware scan using this link:

  • How can I put an icon (shortcut) back on my desktop?

I had the icon for my printer (RGC 2400EN.exe) driver on my desk and now it is missing and I want to put the icon (shortcut) on my desktop... I use it (by double clicking) to reinstall my printer driver, when my printer refuses to print.  How can I put the rear driver icon?

    RGC 2400EN.exe

Are you sure that's the correct name?
If so, start button > Search box, type RGC 2400EN.exe > RGC 2400EN.exe should appear in upper-left, done right click it > click on Open File Loaction > it will lead you to the RGC real 2400EN.exe > righ click Home > Send to > desktop (create shortcut)

PS Ce is not the right forum for the question of the computer. It is a forum for Feedback.

If what I suggested above does not work, move your question to the Performance and maintenance forum.

One last thing. ALWAYS specify your operating system before you begin to describe the problem.

  • Why don't my desktop icons stay where I put them?

My laptop is a HP Pavillion DV7 - 3164cl, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  My question is simple I don't know, but I can't understand it.  I fix my icons from the desktop to the places I want them, I turned off the computer and when I turn it back on, the icons went back to their columns on the left side of the screen, how can I keep them I would?

    Thanks for any help!  Janell

Thanks for your suggestion.  I tried but appreciate your time trying to help me solve this problem.  It doesn't really help.  When I went back to the box that you sent a picture, I noticed the choice of refresh.  I re-arranged my icons again, refresh shot, handed over my computer and they stayed where I put them!  Problem solved.

  • I have a pdf very complicated with many links. I need to link individual file words that are in a series of folders. How can I connect to a folder instead of just a file?

I have a pdf very complicated with many links. I need to link individual file words that are in a series of folders. How can I connect to a folder instead of just a file?

If you set the link to the PDF files, then use the command "Go to a page view", then link to the specific location in the file that you want to run when the user clicks on the link. If you have a link to other file formats, then use the command "open a file". Remember that these links are relative (if the other file is on the same drive as the source file), so if you move the PDF file you need to move these files and folders with him or the links are broken.

  • I used Vista. All of a sudden the icons at the bottom left of my screen disappeared. How can I put them there?

I used Vista.  All of a sudden the icons at the bottom left of my screen disappeared.  How can I put them there? I used to have the show desktop icon, show all windows and a set of how quickly programs, such as MicroSoft Outlook, launch Chrome, Firefox Messenger.

    Try this:

Right-click on an empty area of the taskbar, point to toolbars, and then click quick launch.

A check mark appears, indicating that the Quick Launch toolbar is visible on the taskbar.

  • Add a folder to the taskbar

    Very simple?

In Windows 2000, you can add a folder to the taskbar.

Windows 7 will make documents, programs.  I most often use folders and go from there.  I'm not interested in cluttering up my desktop or Explorer (it takes several steps to access the folder and defeats the purpose of the taskbar - one click).  If it is not possible to be, but it would be efficient to have once again the files in my task bar.

Thanks in advance for any help

If you have Explorer pinned to the taskbar, you can PIN a folder to the taskbar icon.

Figure 1.0 - Pin to Windows Explorer

Drag a folder on taskbar icon and release when you see the hot tip of the Pin to Windows Explorer . Then click the right button on the Explorer icon will display a list of PIN locations for direct access.

How can I put shortcuts to websites in a bar (?) tool bar/browser... dunno what it's called. With IE, I can just drag the tab of the site to the area I want

Near the right end of the address bar is a White Star which can be hard to see, but look closely. When you want to add a shortcut to the toolbar, double-click the star. A window opens with the name of the Web page. Under this is the area of folder which will probably read "Unsorted Bookmarks". Click on the drop down arrow and change it to "Bookmarks Toolbar", then click done.

I have several folders on my toolbar such as music, Mail, etc. in which I add several Web sites. If you want to add a folder, click on the second drop-down arrow next to "Bookmark Toolbar" and click on "New folder" and give it a name.

To add a bookmark to a folder, once again double click on the star, make sure you're in the bookmarks bar and click one of the fall of two arrows to find the name of the folder.

For other bookmarks use Menu bookmark. What is added here are accessible through bookmarks in the menu bar. If your Menu bar with bookmark, file, display, etc. is not visible, click the ALT key and they will become visible. To keep the menu bar, click view, toolbars and check the menu bar.

  • No sound, no XP install disc and no file sndvol32.exe in the system32/dllcache folder... So, how can I get my sound back!

    Hi all

I lived like many of the fixes suggested on the forum as possible so feel I have this post as a new question. I have no sound on my computer. I think it was an accidental deletion of key files during uninstallation of some programs. In any case, the problem of double wammy is than I:
    1. Don't have my XP installation disk anymore because it was lost long ago, and
    2. I do not have the sndvol32.exe file in the system32/dllcache folder so it cannot stick in the system 32 folder
So, how can I get my sound back!
My laptop really old and it is only the visible part of the iceberg in the resulting sound problems, but I cannot afford a new computer at the moment, so any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thank you

This article will show you how to install sndvol32.exe from the CD.

Since you don't have one you can borrow one from someone.

You can also copy the file from another computer.

Since you have an iceberg under this issue, why not try to install the clone from the link below.

    http://download.CNET.com/MiniMixer/3000-2169_4-10074198.html

XP OS CD are very cheap now so maybe you should buy one and do a clean install instead of crop to the iceberg and save you headaches.
