My DLNA Player cannot detect the DLNA server on my Win 7 PC using WMP 12.

I have a wired network.  I upgraded my PC to Win 7 64 bit.  My DLNA process does work, even if it had worked great on Vista.  Nothing else in the network has changed.  Mainly, I'm just "pull" of the PC using the DLNA device

My network router can 'see' my Sony BDP, my Norton security can 'see', too.  I disabled Norton; I configured everything on my PC, Norton and network to be as open as possible.  Everything is completely reliable.

Today, I installed a trial version of "Mezzmo" DLNA server software and EUREKA! The DLNA player works like a champ!  No other changes.

But I want to use WMP 12 - which can be originally not to see and communicate with the BDP-S560 on Win 7?  If I'm looking for a server on the player, none does.  Sony tells me is should work.  Y at - it a plug-in or update, I have to ask?  Thank you.

Did you ever work?   I just got a Sony BDP-S570 Blu - ray player with wireless, and he acknowledged my music library on my Windows7 64 bit machine immediately. I have never on my PC was in Control Panel, Network Center and share, choose the options of sharing with homegroup, homegroup and sharing options and check the box to stream my pictures, music...

I also entered in choose Options of Streaming Media and fact allow everything.

At one point, my BD player would list all the movies on my PC. I have changed the name of the library (in the Display Options of the Advanced Media Streaming), restarted the PC, waited 5 minutes and I was streaming movies once again.

My BD drive has firmware version M04. R.735. hope this helps.

  • computer cannot detect the scanner or camera

When I plug in my digital camera Canon for my xp, then turn it on, I hear a small beep, then nothing. When I go into the Panel, printers and other equipment, scanners and cameras, I see 2 points. 1 is, WIA Canon MX310 SER. The 2nd one is Canon PowerShot SD1300IS. I then click on the Canon PowerShot SD1300IS and then get pictures, but nothing happens. The cameras screen display turns off, but that's all. It seems to be connected to the computer, but not to download pictures.

When I keep trying I sometimes get an error message, the computer cannot detect the scanner or camera.

How can I solve this problem and download my photos?

    Thank you Tim

    Hey volunteer J;

Thanks for the help, but it did not help.

I found the answer on page 2 of microsoft answers, xp, images and videos.

6 questions down, how to re install microsoft scanner and Camera Wizard.

It turns out that some tech volunteer known as J (is it you?} came across the solution to my problem on this site:http://www.veiled-chameleon.com/weblog/archives/000231.html )

I have used PC Cleaner on this xp, and I think he may have disabled some of the registry keys. For me, I had to start my pitcher of DCOM Server, RPC, Remote procedure Call Locator process and put them on automatic. Once I rebooted, everything works great.

I'm so happy that tech Volunteer J, done everything search last December. I bet it helped a ton out of veterans with our cameras. How did he find veiled Chameleon? Wow he must be smart enough.

Thank you for volunteering j. (is it you?)

  • Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because the disc prohibits playback in your region of the world. You must obtain a disc that is intended for your geographic region.

    Windows media player dvd region

After you apply an update to the media player, I now get the error message

"Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because the disc prohibits playback in your region of the world. You must obtain a disc that is intended for your geographic region. »

natuarally ive checked the area defined for the reader and even tried to re applying the region

I then noticed its doing the same thing with dvd stored on my media server, and while he would not even play MPEG or avi stored on my hard drive

I went to my comments to logon (standard user) media player works fine

so I'm back and tried to reinstall the mediaplayer to my admin login, it wouldn't let me not delete it, ran Media Player microsoft penalty shooter, he said everything ok

so I changed the guest account on an admin account to try to remove it from there, but as soon as I did this mediaplayer stopped working in the feedback connection that leads me to believe its a sort of level access virus, that has permeated the media player or a defect in this connection required to complete admin update media player

The link between the library item and its digital media file associated with may be broken. "Try to fix the link or delete the item. There is a web help option which says that to fix a link, you click on the blue icon next to the item, then click "Browse this article. But the only icon I see is a little blue triangle next to individual songs in the library pane or list, there is no icon next to the name of the playlist.
