  iCloud drive holds shadow copies of all the files on your Mac so you can always access your documents, even in offline mode. It is supposed to keep your documents synced to your devices, not as only an off-site storage to save space on the mac.

  You can't stop the shadow - on iCloud drive all files will be downloaded to your Mac, if you enable iCloud drive.

  If you want to iCloud drive as an external storage without the shadow, don't turn on your Mac, but only use the web interface at www.iCloud.com to download and view the documents there. But then you will not be able to see iCloud drive as a drive in the Finder.

  I think to remove the hard drive and put it in a box of HDD external (or whatever we call them).

  But the drive was encrypted with filevault. I have the filevault encryption code. If the drive still works and I plug it into another Mac, I will be able to access the data? Will it ask me to enter the code?

  As far as I know if you connect the drive and go into disk utility there should be a prompt to disable the encryption,

  and providing the password and leave the reader to decipher.

  My niece asked me to re - install his Toshiba Satellite L300 laptop computer, because windows setup is a little buggy. She never had a recovery disc. Using Recovery Disk Creator Toshiba I tried to create a recovery disk.

  However, the program would not start. Check the directory of the program, it seems that the program is not just there. Later, I checked the laptop data partition.

  There was a card with HARD drive recovery. However, when using Windows Advanced Boot (F8 before Windows starts) there was no choice to fix the laptop. They have only choices were the standard options of windows (except the normal startup mode, etc.).

  In short, it seems impossible to re - install the laptop with the current information at your fingertips.
  What would be the next course of action? Is it possible to order a Toshiba restore CD?

  Another niece has the same specifications, it would be possible to use this notebook to create a recovery disk?

  It seems that something has changed on the HARD drive
  However, the fact is you ve no disk recovery and you can not use HARD drive recovery option.

  This means that you must order a new Toshiba recovery disc.

  I failed NV + v1 and bought a used one, so I was able to get the data on the hard drives. Swapped the drives from the old to the new. New NV + appears in the finder on my iMac, but is not displayed in RaidAR. I can access via the finder, but none of the files appears. I see is a file called "homes" and none of my old files are visible. Ideas?

  I recently installed Windows 7 on my laptop HP 15-AD129DS.  In the Device Manager miss me the driver for PC Data Acquisition and Signal Processing controller.   There is also an unknown device without driver right below in the section "other devices."

  I understand that this ususaly installed with drivers from the chipset.  But it didi not install in two different tests when installing Win7.  The Intel site seems to be of no assistance, or their driver utility.

  Can you lead me to the correct drivers?

  Something caused a problem of compatibility or error on your USB. Ill remove the USB key or a damaged file can cause such a problem. When this situation occurs, you don't have any choice but to format the USB (also called a flash or USB drive).  Formatting it will restore State "by default".

  You can insert the disc and try to drag your files in a folder on your pc before doing the repair.

  computer? If so, it's probably a recovery partition, which you got
  instead of a DVD.

  If this is a recovery partition, it came with it instead of a DVD, and
  instructions on how to use it. It also came with instructions on how
  to burn the content of this partition to a DVD,
  and that should have been the first thing you did when you guessed it.
  Since a hard disk crash leaves you with nothing.

  You must do so immediately. If you do not find the instructions,
  Contact your manufacturer or check their web site.

  And more importantly, if this is what it is, you should never write
  data or anything else for her.
