• Experiences of replacing motherboard

  So my new E540 boot - after that the 5th day I used it at all. All I get are two red power light. I tried a hard reset but it did not work. Call technical support first thing Monday. It's a shame as I like the computer and it took place just outside the fourteen day return window.

  This problem seems to be quite common, and almost always requires the replacement of the motherboard. So I was wondering what people's experiences were with replacing the motherboard. At they ruin your laptop? Have they worked? They have like the original?

  Have you tried a hard reset, semil? If so, then you and I have the same problem. It's a dead motherboard. Fortunately for me, when I checked, my laptop has been delivered and died within the 14 day window, so it fits in their 'dead' on arrival policy

  I'm trying to replace. Here are the steps:

  -Call technical support in your country and record details
  -Send your proof of purchase (and proof of delivery if sent to you) to an email from tech support provided to you
  -Will send you a dead on arrival reference number, or call tech support the next day to receive this Ref. number
  -Contact where you bought it. your retailer, in my case, sales of Lenovo.
  -They will take your laptop (because they will organize a messaging service online to look at their own expense) and send it to technical support to check it out, you can request that it be repaired or replaced.
  -They will repair or authorize a replacement and give it to you

  In your case, if it does not under the dead on arrival in Germany policy, I take it back to the retailer and require a refund or a replacement of their part ask a warranty repair is a bit more of a pain as the DoA policy. There is no reason to keep your laptop.

  If you love the brand, stick with it. Regarding changed the brand, I did research before I buy my brands and Lenovo was always near the top, and was regarded as the second behind Apple in 2013. My guess is that there is a manufacturing defect. This happens with technology, so I'll stick with Lenovo unless my replacement (when I get it) died as well.

  I ordered the Inspiron 23 "the 14th of this month, when I bought the site shows that the product will be available the next day.

  Then, the next day came... they changed on 25 August an estimated delivery date and I was okay with that. but by the 5th day, they have not even ship my order I call Dell customer service and said I'll get it the or before August 25, certainly.

  So, today I went to check my order, the estimated delivery date has changed to August 29...

  I tried to call the number that Dell customer care had gave me and name extension, the automated system was told that the name extension is non-existent, so I askd for representative transfer and asked the person who told me to track my order. However, the person does not pick up so I thought he was just busy at the momment, so I left a voice message and I never received a call back.

  Dell should have just to tell us that the order will not ship soon or something like that so I can watch another all-in-one desktop computer.

  I have a new laptop from Toshiba with WIN 8 pre-installed, and I have the same problem.  I ran the program of problem determination and it reset the WiFi card and fixed an issue reported.  He canned breed, I have 2 WIN 7 laptops who have no problem at all.

  I have an interactive report that I generated several reports of.

  The report shows the numbers of daily production, production cell, model and quantity.

  The user wants a report to display the sum of the amount of production grouped by cell and the model with a total daily amounts.

  I managed to get the format to display as follows: using a control break the day of production, then using an aggregate function on the production quantity, but I cant get to group by the model, because the feature control is removed for grouped reports and vice versa.

  Unfortunately, you have touched on one of the Group By functionality limitations - even for the new function of Pivot.

  OOTB, they are not combinable with other IR characteristics of formatting.

  If you really need this view, ill you must create it via another report and use SQL statements to produce the output you need.

  Not ideal, because you want all the reports in a single package of IR, but that's all.

  Perhaps with APEX 5.0 and multiple IRs on the same page, you will be able to have the IRs sets to accomplish what you need, all on one page.

  We have so much flexibility already with the IRs, we can't complain too much, but it is a limitation.

  1 put the apps and VMware View Agent on the machine. Arrival at the field. Stop it. At the snapshot.

  2. create manual pool. Floating. VMS in vCenter.

  3. choose a VM (from step 1).

  4. pool 'creates' and seems to start the virtual machine.

  5 poking my head through the ESXi console, I see the machine start... and then... just stay right there. She's waiting for someone to connect, and nothing at all happens.

  OK, first of all on the support of bundle will not a great party when you ran it as the virtual machine is not yet configured for a pool. It will not therefore have a set of servers to try to connect to and test.

  Second, nested inside the workstation could well be your problem here. Nesting _May_ be ok if everything is configured correctly, but it can also interfere with the ability for the desktop VM to get its configuration of ESX (virtual) host. I suppose that you have set the monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = TRUE flag on your virtual ESX VM? You are certainly well in territory not supported, but if you can get the software inside Windows VM to read the field machine.id of the vmx file then everything should work (don't expect any kind of usable performance, however!). You can test this using tools: vmtoolsd - cmd 'machine.id.get '.

  I've read up, but I'm still not really what is the usefulness of this feature.

  II. the Snapshots are supposed to be taken so that the virtual machine can be recovered at this point in time (for example, before the Windows Update)

  III. snapshots are "integrated" with dare the virtual machine (via VMware Tools), which means that we can make the Brownie when virtual machines are on the rise.

  -Windows 2008?

  IV. Snapshots would take place outside the VMs

  -The data store should be much larger then the VMS (for example if the virtual machine is 200 GB, datastore shd be 300 GB to VMDK + Snapshots)

  -Snapshot sizes would grow as time passes (eg. instant 100 days ago risked increasing from 10 GB to 20 GB according to the changes made to the virtual machine)

  I think you may have the wrong idea of the snapshot...

  I would like to use Windows update + service pack installation for example.

  VM with MS svr 2003 running... you can install SP1, and then test, can install updates to Windows, and then test.

  -snapshot 1 (sn1): Win2003 Updates & SP

  -Install of Win2003 SP1 (with reboot etc.)

  -snapshot 2 (sn2): Win 2003 SP1

  -Install Windows updates current on Win2003 SP1

  -snapshot 3 (sn3): Win 2003 SP1 with updates

  -svr stable for 5 days (eg. installing Acrobat reader, Microsoft office)

  So u shd have 3 pictures... who all "grows" that you test your DVS.

  But your VM will be 4 types of main file (with respect to this context)

  1. basis of files of the virtual machine (vmdk, vmx, memory of the computer virtual, swp files etc.)

  2 VM snapshot file

  3 VM snapshot files swp (swap is maybe not correct name... but I do think that the proper name)

  In terms of logic...

  -'sn1' is the basis of the snapshot

  -"sn2" is "sn1" + "data1."

  -"sn3" is "sn1" + "data1" + data2.

  "- VM1 is sn1' + 'data1' + data2 ' + data unnamed swap

  The 5th day of test, the virtual machine will have files for

  ' '- sn1', "sn2", "sn3", 'data1', 'base VM,' data2 ' and unnamed swap data that are generated during the 5 days of tests.

  Then from the right 'consolidation' will convert the name in "data3" swap so that

  -'sn1' is the snapshot of base + 'data3 '.

  -"sn2' is 'sn1' + 'data1', 'data3 '.

  -"sn3" is 'sn1' + 'data1' data2' + 'data3 '.

  "- VM1 is sn1' + 'data1' + data2 ' + 'data3 '.

  In a way layman... Virtual machines with snapshot are VMs who have ΘtΘ divisΘs into multiple files.

• dv7-4070us freezes twice a day... now

  About two weeks ago, I purchased a dv7-4070us from Sears.com. It worked well through the initial start upward. The second day, PC started freezing randomly and without apparent reason. I have download all updates available from Microsoft and HP updates and still had the problem. Then, I went on this forum and read some posts and discovered the diagnostic programs. I ran these and I don't get any errors. I have since received more updates from Microsoft and HP. I also installed Norton Utilities 14 and cleaned all the registry errors, he found. Now, the PC freezes twice a day almost like clockwork. When I turn on the PC first for the day it freezes to the logo Windows first, then I have to hold the power button to turn off. After that I turned back and I am able to connect and access the desktop, but ten minutes later, it will freeze again. I have to hold the power button to turn off again. It's weird, but I guess the third time is the charm, the tracks PC perfectly after start of the third. I can restart or fine stop after the start of the third with no. freezes. I have left on during 2 days now on sleep and wake up and does not freeze. Any suggestions to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

  PS. -L' use of firewall and antivirus McAfee Total Protection

  UPDATE:

  Well it took three times, but it looks to replace the motherboard, processor and RAM took care of the problem. Overall I am satisfied with the HP support in this case. I am dissatisfied with the HP forum, because I never received a response to these posts during this whole ordeal. If your product is under warranty, I would recommend you to send it to them. I'm marking this resolved with this post.

  You can do a self-join when you join earlier dates to later dates, except weekends and holidays from later dates, like this:

  The 'magic number' 14 in the join condition is an upper bound on the actual number of days away the 5th working day can be. Where I work, the holidays are always at least 7 days apart, so the 5th working day is never further than 9 days real (5 days + 2 days + 2 days weekened) suite. Holidays may be more densely grouped in the same data posted Laureline, so I used a lot. If you don't know what number to use in your case, imagine that high.

  I don't use my iPod touch frequently during the day. I do use internet for and a few games, no video, just Board Games. I still frequently find the pod touch low device running every two days. I'm surprised. My iPad mini retains power for a longer period of time, and I use it more frequently. Bigger battery? I do not know. I have been updating my iPod touch over the years to the last generation, and this is the worst experience I had to drain the battery. What is the latest generation of IOS? I do not know. Any comments would be useful. Thank you.

  My 4th, 5th and 6th gen touch all had battery short life. As it is even now I charge mine every night.

  I think it's more a battery which is part of the question.

  I invested in one of these portable Chargers, so that might be an option, in that you can watch. I also have a charger at work I use in the middle of the day.
