• Access to another system of Win7 has stopped working for some reason any

  I have 2 systems Win7 Ultimate x 64 on a network. These two systems have been able to share files etc for a while using standard file sharing both in a home network. For some reason, I was on the road for a few weeks and when I came home and connected to the network I am more able to reach other Win7 systems.  I can Ping the systems IP address but not by name (I get the message "Ping request can not find host xxxxx.").  If I do a 'net view', I see the host name but can use net use to access the shared drive (error system 53). Since the home network, I can see the system and open the view which shows the 'Documents', 'Videos' etc., but records by clicking on the folders just returns without having to open the folder.

  Clues as to what perhaps is the problem or how can I do to diagnose the problem.

• Windows Vista backup on the external drive stopped working

  I have a LaCie 750 GB hard drive external (total size 698 GB) who I've been saving my drive C and D to a Dell XPS 410 using Vista Home Premium software.  He contended until the end with a backup automated on-demand for once a week.  He performed the backup 30 times since 11/09/09, but sometimes did so sometimes (shorter range) other than the weekly on-demand.  When I compare the total size with the free space on the external drive and my drives C and D, the amount of used space is respectively 131 GB, 5,11 GB and GB 665,5.  I am not very computer savvy, but if the backup program backs up only what of new each time, why used on my external drive space is so superior to what is still on my C and D drive?  I assumed that the backup software would just copy the previous backup, each time that a new backup or write on the oldest backup, but apparently is not.  So now all I get are messages saying that the backup was not successful because a file was in use or something to that effect.  I'm doing something wrong or do I have to reformat the hard drive external when it is "full" to start the backup of my computer again?

  Your assumption is correct. Cross check if a new backup is created and saved in the external hard drive. If a new backup is not too write the old backup, the use of the space will be very high.

  You get the error message, unplug the external drive and restart the computer. Connect the hard drive and check if you get the error message.

  3. you get this error message while trying to open the web browser?

  You have the key "secret" engaged? It is the little slider on the volume buttons on the side. If you see orange, it is engaged. Drag the opposite effect. Have you disturb not active? Settings > do not disturb.

  Review the file.  You see empty spaces, lines together running, symbols of programming?  The file is corrupted and will not write.

  Right-click on the file and select Rename

  Restart the sim card and a new log file will be created

  You can copy the old file to the new file and see if it works

  Head over to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\PProHeadless and 6.0 and rename it old6.0. Reboot the machine and then launch the product. I hope this helps.

  With the help of a PKI on site of 2 levels. Root CA offline (Standalone Windows 2008 R2, Enterprise Edition) and Isma online for delivery of certificates (Domain-Joined, issuing CA)

  ROOTCA certificate installed in the store and the approved display (PKCS #1 SHA-256 with RSA algorithm encryption and uses a signature SHA2)

  ISSUINGCA certificate installed in the store and display "couldn't trust for unknown reasons" has also SHA2 signature with the RSASSA-PSS algorithm

  Certificate issued is for a Web Server front end Lync and when it tries to load the secure web connection. I get the message "the peer certificate has an invalid signature."

  I completely uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. Removed and added certificates ROOT and ISMA. Note: No problem when using the same certificates in Internet Explorer 8, 9 or 10 on the same system. Lync client also uses the same certificates, no problem. Only when access to the Web Services of Lync from Firefox.
  Question: Firefox NSS #11 internal Module PCKS supports RSASSA - PSS SHA-256 with different hashes? How can I solve this further?

  I finally found the problem. The ROOT CA has the following registry key configuration when cert Isma was published:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\CertSvc\Configuration\IssuingCA\CSP\AlternateSignatureAlgorithm = 1

  This CA cause ROOT to issue the cert with a signature that is encrypted with the algorithm RSASSA-PSS (1.2.840.113549.1.1.10).

  This signature replacement algorithm no is apparently not supported for use with Firefox 27.0

  I changed the registry value on the ROOT CA to a value of 0. Renewed the cert IssuingCA (using the same private key) which is now on display with sha256RSA encryption. I have republished all my default web certificates now using this new broadcast chain CA without problem.
