My files are not imported into Lightroom, because they cannot be read.

I have a new MacBook Pro running Yosemite 10.10.4 and whenever I try to import photos from different cameras SD cards I get an error message "the following files were imported not because they could not be read."  Any ideas?

In addition to the request of Paige confirmed the update stuck? Otherwise try trashing the prefs before update. First stop Lightroom CC.

Launch the Finder and click on the menu go to, just by holding down the Option (alt) key. Then go to library > preferences and delete the following file:

com.adobe.Lightroom6.plist

Then launch creative cloud and disconnect by clicking settings (gear icon) rack top-right.

Connect again and wait for the apps to refresh. Updates are now available? If so, click on the button install. If there is more than one update, install Photoshop CC first, followed by Lightroom CC.

If Office creative cloud still shows everything as up-to-date you can update LR since the installation below link:

Lightroom put them where you instruct. You are responsible for this. You have options for adding that leaves the files where they are on the drive or move where files are moved via Lightroom to the destination you select or create.

I bought a Canon EOS 750D and the RAW can not import into Lightroom.

    You must be

    Lightroom 6/Lightroom CC 2015

    OR

The free Adobe DNG Converter version 9.0 or later, use this to convert RAW to DNG, and then import the DNG in your Lightroom

  • Lightroom does not import photos from camera or office. I can see them in the section overview of Lightroom, but when I click on import, said simply that they cannot be read.  Help!

Lightroom does not allow me to import pictures from my camera or my office. They appear in the preview of little Lightroom and I select the ones I want to import, and then add my info etc and manipulation of files metadata, but then when I hit just IMPORT keeps saying that they cannot be read.  SO FRUSTRATING.

To change the permissions on a folder, click the padlock icon in the corner of the info box. You will be asked your admin username and password (can be the same as yours if you are the only user on the computer). Then, you will be able to change permissions.

But I agree that user is not the real destination folder. To be sure, right-click on the destination in Lightroom and then choose 'Show in Finder' get info on this issue.

  • How the D610 Nikon raw files can be imported into Lightroom 4.4? The files are not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom

I bought a nikon d610, when I tried to import raw files in the same way that I had always done with my old nikon d80 before I could not. I got a message saying that the files are not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom. I also tried with photoshop cc and I couldn't either. Any suggestions?

Camera Raw plugin | Supported devices

The D610 was first supported by Lightroom 5.3.

You will have to pay to

    1. Lightroom 6 upgrade, or
    2. Join the cloud, or
    3. Download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all the D610 Raw files to DNG, and then edit the DNG in Lightroom 4.4

  • Lightroom 4.2.  Cannot import. message files were not imported because they cannot be read

    Crisis of Lightroom:

suddenly, impossible to import images into lightroom - a window comes up that says '"suite of files not were not imported because they cannot be played'. I was trying to import images - 10 images were imported from the shoot, then import stopped.

I tested the card and card readers using cards of different cameras and using different card readers. I managed to import the images into a folder on my desktop, so know nothing is corrupted... Memory cards are good, my card readers are good. no settings not changed in my camera. Nothing has changed in my routine. Have been using lightroom for several years.

I import via a card reader, convert to DNG and save on an external hard drive. All very ordinary.

No, I contacted has had or knows someone who has had this problem.

Impossible to get in touch with anyone at Adobe.

Thanks for any help or direction to support tec

On a quick reading, it looks like the same question that me was dead in the water for 7 days. (LR 4.2)  I tried everything - my card readers are good, memory cards are not damaged, tried different cards of different cameras, etc. Working my way through all of my tech savvy friends and professional, I've been lucky to connect with a person of great sister tech at Adobe.  After all the possibilities of lightroom (3 hours on the phone) in case of problem, we checked my external hard drive where all the images are stored.  Though even the external hard drive had plenty of space and "told" that he was in good health and works well, Adobe got go in properties/tools of the external hard drive and do a 'error checking.  12 hours later after the program has the file to a disk at the same time, he finds errors, moved to a separate folder, and now everything works OK.  Hard drive not to was not crushed or if all images have been lost.  As can happen after a while there was a scratch or similar which prevents more images being write (or read) on the disk.  Even if everything works OK at the moment, I'll replace it my external hard drive (and it's backup external drive) .just cases are more 'bumps' on the external hard drive.

My technical knowledge is limited and I'm not intuitive that anything digital, so can't add more information then the experience I had.

  • Updated Mac OS at El Cap and now I can not import into lightroom, I tried new catalog, update of the operating system, update of Lightroom CC, and resets, can someone help to troubleshoot it please?

Need help importing raw, Lightroom photos now cannot read the files after updating to Mac OS X El Cap

El Capitan changed the permissions on the folder that you selected in the Destination dialog to import LR area. Check out what it is and then check the permissions on it. It must be set to read + write for your username.

  • Clips files are not empty, but he says they are

    Hello

I have a Sansa clip 4 GB, Version 1.02.16A mb memory settings 3744 for free shwning 316 under info.

All my files were in audio books and podcasts. Now these files shw vacuum on the drive, BUT some shw upward in artists, albums, artists and such files. Not everyone understands them.

When I connect it to my computer, the clip said it's almost full, but all the files are empty.

I tried pressing the power button for more than 20 seconds and it will not reset.

I tried to download the firmware zip file and install in the root directory. Updated the firmware.

I tried to put it in USB MSC mode, pressing the Center button and its connection to my computer.

Nothing seems to work. Any ideas please?

    Thanks in advance.

I guess that your files are not correctly tag. You can format the drive using the Player menu (settings, system settings, format) that will remove the files on the drive.

You must edit the files on your pc and correctly label, then again to copy them in the drive.

The program free mp3tag is very useful for marking files. The player must id3v2.3 tags iso8859-1.

  • JPEG files already in folders will not import into Lightroom 4

All my files cr2, nef, and tiff import fine in Lightroom 4. All the JPEGs in DxO import are fine Lighroom. But in Digital Professional Pro JPEG images are not recognized in my library records. This is not the JPEG format manufactured in my camera as well as the raw files. If I open a TIFF in Capture NX2 local dodging and burning it records fine in Lightroom and save JPEG files too.

    Strange?

    PS: X 64 Edition using Windows 7 Home premium, Canon 5 d Mk2

Strange? Maybe not... If the option of ' processing JPEG files files next to raw as separate pictures "is disabled in your Lightroom preferences (general tab) while Lightroom will allow the importation of the Raw of a Raw + Jpeg"even"(jpeg format is noted and referenced in a"sidecar"file in the Raw metadata). Which would easily explain the issue of pairs OOC raw + jpeg and can explain the issue of the DPP jpegs IF they have the same file name and live in the same folder as their original raw files.

  • Pano merged do not import into Lightroom

I tried to understand this one for a while with limited success.  It has been a problem for a few months now.  A 5Dmkiii, trying to merge a relatively large number of panoramic photos of several rows of shooting.  Running a MacPro with 32 GB of RAM, hard disk of 500 GB SSD with about 80 GB of free space.

After updated most recent (a few days), fuse worked fine for 3 or for mergers, but now it does not work yet.

    The question:

Afree choosing pictures of as fusion, I see the preview and click on merge.  Before the end of the progress bar I get an error message saying "unable to import photos merged into lightroom" and whem I look for fusion image sound nowhere to be found. of how ice found in the forums and elsewhere, it sounds like a memory problem. But with 32 GB of ram? Where and how do I free up space to see if it is the real problem? And if it is not the question, what would it be?

Thanks to all those who have the time to give this a minute!

    Kiel

There is a limitation on the size in pixels for the result of panorama.  Could this be it?  What is the size of panorama expected based on the original pixel dimensions and amount of overlap.

If you export to JPG format and perform the merger on jpg files work?

  • Find which MP3 are not imported into iTunes.

I try a cleaning for long MP3 and iTunes.

Right now, a search for mp3 on my HD lists 4 326 mp3s.

And a search for mp3 in my iTunes music library lists 3,470 mp3s.

However, the total mp3 in iTunes is only 2 741.

Is it possible to determine what elements are not in iTunes so that I can selectively decide which, if any, that I really want to import?  I prefer not just to import all the mp3s on my HD and have to go back and clean up duplicates and delete items, that I don't want in iTunes.  I also want to keep my playlists, number of plays, etc., so I don't want to start at the beginning with a new iTunes install.

And a question bonus, if anyone knows.  Is there a good way to clean the text that is displayed like that?  -> Âå›êà Ñå›äfl÷êà <-these songs had info name, artist and Album in the Cyrillic alphabet, but somehow got irreparably maimed.  The ideal solution would be a site or a program that recognizes the audio imprint of the song and can automatically update the info mutilated.

    iTunes 12.3, OS 10.11.4

    Thank you!

There is a script on the web site of Dougscripts called something like file not added that look inside your iTunes media folder and make a text file of elements not in the iTunes folder.  It seems to me that your desire to be selective in this respect will involve a lot of manual sorting, either in a window of Finder, or using various tools in an iTunes playlist.

Your file with the Cyrillic alphabet may have also integrated in the tags in the file information. Add to iTunes should show that, or maybe get Info or Quicklook (I never use those and am on Mavericks with this computer).
