My iPod Classic 160 GB is not connecting to my PC.

I reformatted and restored but he barely stayed in long enough to do these things.
Help is appreciated.
Kind regards.

Maybe more of a problem is that when I try to sync my music library, it takes a few moments and said 'Sync complete!', but nothing has been synchronized.

  • iPod Classic 160 GB, do not sync, Windows 10

I have an iPod Classic, 160 GB.  I have a HP and spin Windows 10.  My iPod synchronized for months with no problem.  I tried to sync two weeks ago and iTunes detects a connection, but the iPod wouldn't sync content.  I reset the iPod (menu button and Center, lock) as fulfilled and I tried to restore the iPod via iTunes.  My iPod is in charge and short syncs with iTunes, but no content does not transfer to the iPod.  Due to reboot and restore, my iPod is now empty, so basically useless. Does anyone have advice?

  • iPod classic 160 GB will not appear in iTunes

My iPod Classic 160 GB stopped suddenly appears in iTunes yesterday. He always shows up on my computer, however. I tried to reset my iPod. Then I tried to restart my computer and iPod. Then I tried to update the software from my computer and iTunes. Then I tried to put the iPod in disk mode. Then, I even completely removed iTunes and reinstalled on my Mac. Nothing I've tried has worked.

Fact the iPod still works correctly as an iPod when disconnected (play songs)?

Then, I even completely removed iTunes and reinstalled on my Mac.

Since you are using a Mac, and iTunes is part of the standard installation, how your "remove iTunes completely?  What version of Mac OS X do you run on Mac?

Then I tried to put the iPod in disk mode.

Specifically, what happens when you run iTunes on Mac and then connect the iPod in Disk Mode?  What is the iPod screen say when you connect?

  • iPod Classic 160 g will not sync

My iPod stopped syncing all of a sudden after that my iTunes has been updated to 12.3.2.  Tested two USB ports, they work fine. Tested with different cables to connect, even bought a cable new, no connection. What is happening exactly the thing is, I plug it into USB, iPod lights up, says 'Connection' and goes straight to "Ok to disconnect with the bar of down" and passes automatically to my main screen. All the music it still works. Everything works fine with the iPod. He just used to sync my iTunes more. Sound also, somehow, the return for my entire iTunes library.

Is it configured to synchronize automatically?  Select iPod in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to show its parameters on the iTunes window screen.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click music.  Right, parameters of music on the iPod screen.  Is the checkbox to Sync music checked?  If it is not checked, your iPod is not set to automatically synchronize music.

NOTE: When you change the definition of all songs in the iPod that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.

If the box Sync music is not checked, check it.  Below, if your library iTunes music fits on your iPod, choose the option to synchronize the entire music library.  Then click apply.  iTunes can remove all your songs from iPod and then synchronize your entire library of music back.  If your iPod has a problem with his hard drive, this can cause an iPod that has worked "like what" to will no longer work.  If it works, your whole music library will be on the iPod and iTunes will keep abreast of changes, when you connect (or click sync , if already connected).

I tried to sync my iPod Classic 160 gb but got the message "iPod cannot be synced. A duplicate file name was specified. "I use Windows 10 and the latest version of iTunes (updated to try to solve the problem). I went through this PC > iPod > properties > tools > check to analyze and check the device, but nothing does not change. I also made iTunes diagnostics I happy at each event, but the sync with iTunes indicating test is not a connected iPod even if the iPod synchronization screen shows the window iTunes.

  • iPod Classic 160 GB Gen 7 BOTH of PROBLEMS!

My ipod classic automatically disconnect whenever I connect it to my pc. I checked the cable, it is very good and works with the other iPod and usb port of my computer is powerful enough to manage this device. There are a few points in time where he would connect after many many menu + button select restorations, but this is an unreliable method. In addition, 4 times the ipod says there is no music. I plugged it and itunes could not read music files. When I checked my c: drive he showed that the ipod was all my music on it.

I tried all kinds of breakdowns, apparently these problems have nothing to do with the drive hard because the diagnostic mode I can check his HDSpecs. I also tried disk mode but itunes does not show that the ipod is connected.

I'm at my wits end with this ipod. Help, please!

This type of problem can certainly be linked to the health of the hard drive.

When disconnected, the iPod still works correctly as an iPod?  In other words, does show the screen menus.  He plays songs (if there are songs loaded)?

The first step is to get the iPod in iTunes.  When you connect the iPod, watch the screen of the iPod.  It does not say 'do not disconnect' or give an indication that it is connected?  Is it just to show the symbol of battery?  Or not it reacts at all to be connected?

    My ipod classic automatically disconnects...

Before it 'disconnects automatically", which says that the iPod is connected?  He initially appears in iTunes, then disappears?  Please provide more details...

  • backup impossible ipod classic 160 GB in itunes

backup impossible ipod classic 160 GB in itunes

The function of backup in iTunes is only for iOS devices, like the iPhone and the iPod touch.  There is no backup function for iPod Player (such as iPod classic).  All the songs (and other media) on your iPod should exist in your iTunes library, because it was synced to your iTunes library.  Your iTunes library is your iPod 'back up '.

What you save is your iTunes library (on the computer), in the case of your computer (or player) fails.  Apple describes a way to backup your iTunes to complete on an external drive.

  • iPod classic 160 GB says no music after synchronization

I have an old iPod classic 160 GB that has worked well for years. But suddenly, last week, while he was trying to put in new music (right now I have about 18 000 songs, more or less) he began to have problems with synchronization. After having tried in different ways (and after the restoration, with utility disk and with iTunes), I managed to synchronize all the music. However, it is very frustrating that after all this process my iPod displays "no music" in there. I'm desperate and I need advice because I really want to get it back and listen to music again.

    iPod classic 160 gb / Mac OS X (10.13) / last iTunes (12.3)

    Greetings!

After a restore, iTunes current assigned to use the parameter manually manage music and videos by default (no Auto Sync).  Select the iPod in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to show its settings screen in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click music.  Settings of music from the iPod screen is shown at right.

Is currently checked the checkbox to Sync music ?  If your library complete iTunes music fits on the iPod, is the ability to synchronize the selected entire music library ?

  • IPod Classic 160 GB freezes Itunes when connected

I plugged my Ipod classic to my laptop to synchronize with Itunes and it went through all the processes as usual except at the end he came with an error message saying that the synchronization has failed. I retried the sync and got the same message. I unplugged the Ipod to see it wiped all content except the games. This laptop is configured to synchronize with the original computer. When I plug the Ipod in it now it sends ITunes in a mode of constantly trying to connect and says it is connected to the screen, but when you check the PC it says that itunes does not. The image of the Ipod appears in the top corner but everything is blocked, you cannot click on anything whatsoever or to scroll at all. Once the cursor sitting there in the way of thinking for 20 minutes and then came with this message.

Unfortunately I can't ITunes to answer so I can not even the Summary tab to restore. Any help would be greatly appreciated I have to travel in two days and really want to go with. Thanks in advance.

  • iPod classic (7th generation), do not sync with iTunes on Windows 10

    Salvation;

My iPod classic (7th generation, 160 GB) is not synchronized with iTunes 12.3.2.35 (latest version) on Windows-10. It is synchronized before, but it suddenly stopped synchronization. The iTunes is to identify the iPod, but it is not sync. Also, all my other iPods (nano and classic) also show the same behavior. Help nicely, as it made all my outdated iPod. Thank you!

If the iPod appears in iTunes, select it (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to show its settings screen in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click music.  Right, parameters of music on the iPod screen.

NOTE: All iPod songs that are not in your iTunes library (on the computer) will be lost.

If the box Sync music is not checked, check it.  This enables automatic synchronization.  If your library complete iTunes music can fit on the iPod, you can choose the option synchronize entire music library.  Then click apply.

If your library complete iTunes music does not fit on the iPod (or if you do not want to synchronize 'everything'), you can choose the option synchronize select playlists, artists, albums and genres.  Make your choice from the lists below.  For example, you can keep one or more playlists in your iTunes library, with songs that you want on the iPod.  Back on the settings screen of music from iPod, under playlists, search for and select (checkmark) these playlists.  After making your selections, click apply.

Further, iTunes syncs iPod "" with your library iTunes music (or the selected part) when you connect the iPod (or click sync , if already connected).

  • gel syncing to iTunes (iPod Classic 160 GB stops synchronization)

I have about 19000 mp3 files in my iTunes I try to sync my iPod 160GB Classic (2009). I've updated to the latest version of iTunes and my iPod is updated to 2.0.4.

The iPod is recognized and synchronization starts as usual and files begin to transfer... BUT iTunes crashes at some random file and stops the synchronization. ITunes basically says it's still sync (but stuck on a single file) and the iPod shows the screen 'do not disconnect - please eject before disconnecting '. It seems to me that the iPod think it's done, but iTunes is still trying to synchronize.

I have to close iTunes and restart the computer to get iTunes working normally again manually. I can close iTunes, but cannot get it to open again before restarting the computer unless I go into the Task Manager and terminate all the processes iTunes manually. If I have this and go back to iTunes and then start resynchronization, synchronization is completely blocked on the first song, while the iPod does not sync at all.

If I restart my computer then start again so I can start the synchronization, but the same thing happens again.

Moreover, I had an iPod touch 3G on this same computer with iTunes and have never had a problem syncing like that ever.

Here are some of the things that I've figured out and to try to solve this problem:

    • I deleted all the songs (files) in iTunes which can not find the program on my hard drive more.

    • If it freezes, the songs he says were be synced with the iPod are not actually on the iPod. Only 2-3 of the first songs sent when syncing remained on the iPod. Well most of the time. In manual mode, they seem to "stick."

    • I have restored my iPod back to factory settings. Who has not solved the problem.

    • I understand that this has NOTHING to do with corrupted files. The file it freezes on seems completely random (I did about 10 to 15 times) sometimes it freezes as soon as possible and sometimes it freezes later. I also checked to make sure that the files are not corrupt. which is not. I even deleted them from the list at the beginning when I first had the problem.

    • I put it to sync only checked songs and then set only 30 to 50 songs at the time of transfer. In addition to taking FOREVER to sync my iPod (don't be easier?), it can still freeze at random to where iTunes synchronization, but the iPod is not. Basically, it can happen on the song #451 or song #3. The odds of a gel are far less it seems with very few songs at the same time, but it can always happen, no matter how little I do.

    • I tried the manual synchronization... same problem. It will freeze during the update.

    • I have tried different USB cables without effect.

    • I tried different machines slot USB.

    • Reinstall windows... that he has not solved.

Looks like you did a lot of troubleshooting already.  As the hard drives used with computers, the hard drive of your iPod mini becomes unreliable over time.  So the cause can be the disc is hard not to write data at random times.  Maybe it's not the cause in your case, but it is possible.

As a test, if you have other USB devices connected at the same time, you can try to shut down the PC and unplug it all the USB devices.  You can leave standard keyboard/mouse USB connected, if used.  In order to put the iPod in Disk Mode

Put the iPod in disk - Apple Support Mode

Computer, run iTunes and connect the iPod to a direct USB port by itself.  iTunes may ask you to do a restore with a message on the "recovery."  Tell iTunes to proceed.  Once the restoration is complete, try to do a full synchronization.  If this does not help, please report back.

  • iPod classic "shuffle albums" does not work

iPod classic "shuffle albums" option does not work, will be only mix songs but I put the function shuffle; allows you to restart or sync in iTunes. New 18 months ago did shuffle albums initially.

Can we do anything? I used this feature much - almost always - my old iPod wheel, that after several years of excellent service doesn't exist like it and the Classic iPad was purchased as a backup for this eventuality.

This Shuffle setting applies to play songs in a specific list, playlist, list albums, artist list, etc.  If you select the random play order or shuffle songs on the iPod screen, he always mixed songs (do not use the Shuffle setting).

So, for adjustment of Shuffle Albums apply to your action, a selection, select the playlist on screen without enter in the iPod.  Press Play.  Or you can go to the playlist and choose the first song to play.  The following songs use the shuffle albums setting.

If you want to use the shuffle albums all songs on the iPod, go to the list of songs .  Choose the first song to play.  The following songs use the shuffle albums setting.
