  • How can I download all my emails to my account so that I can access and print my emails in offline mode?

Sometimes the work email server fails. There are a lot of problems in the it Department at work and I'm afraid I might lose all my emails. Can I download all my emails so that in the event of a failure of server to work or even if IT guys delete my account by mistake, I would still be able to access my emails and if I want to print them?

    Thank you

One way to do it is to put in place a filter as:

    manual execution
    contains @
    copy to local/my_backup records

BUT run it that once it will copy everything each time you run it.

You can also mark the ones that you want to save, right click and copy...

You might have a backup add-on like importExporttools. at the request of make backups every day of your e-mail folders (only those changed)

  • Hi, I accidentally downloads all my email from a Hotmail account without leaving a copy on the server. How can I download them back again?

I have configured my Hotmail account with POP server to see my email in Thunderbird. When you set up the account, I have accidentally unchecked leave messages on the server on the server configuration option. The following days, I saw more than 2000 email disappearing from my Web server! How can I download their return?
    Thank you very much

It is usual, but not absolutely necessary, for the emails to download from the server to the TB Inbox e-mail account and then delete them from the server.

I personally, clear all but the last 30 days on the server, whereas between my monthly backup and emails on the server, I was able to recover most, if not all the mail loss.

You could get the emails on the server, but you will notice that all dates seem to change the date when you put them back on the server.
    See the info here:

  • Due to a problem I reinstalled to with POP3 and he proceeded to download ALL my emails from 2010 - is it possible to delete ALL these block?

    Windows 8

POP3 is supposed to download but it can be configured to leave the mail on the server.

    Look at the tools/account/Server settings.
    (Or three_bars_icon / tools/account settings/Server settings)
The second part is what is on my picture.

If you leave your mail on the server (see image) you must mark a way to remove them. either by age or (preferably) by you deleting them or both.

If you delete the Inbox in the "hidden" directory, as you suggest, the only result would be that would create a vacuum and all mails on server should start to download.

If you have left on the server and you want to remove, mark them in the Inbox and delete. Then empty the trash and Inbox, and of garbage compact.

    is that more clear?

  • Thunderbird is lock on a message and I have to delete the Bellsouth otherwise it will download the same email over and over. How can I fix it?

It started a couple of weeks. I noticed an email several times being downloaded. After reviewing the many things, I deleted the email on Bellsouth and Thunderbird then downloaded all my emails. Over time, he started doing this several times in a batch of e-mails. The download bar will say it is loading down 1 (or whatever the number) to say 71 messages. It can download 1 or more, then it stops downloading. I go to Bellsouth and remove the last downloaded message and click Get Mail in Thunderbird to start the process again.

If I don't delete the last email downloaded when I hit Get Mail Thunderbird will download the same email again and stop. A few times it will start a download and work for an extended period and then stop the download without having to download a single mail.

Before I tried to pull up in protected mode I ran C Cleaner and SpyBot just to see if there was something I picked up somewhere. I've not seen anything unusual, but had two programs clean what they find. Since their execution I've seen Thunderbird download some e-mails twice, but it's the download now. Don't know what that programs cleaned up that seems to fix the problem. So, for the moment, it looks like I agree.

Thanks Matt. If it comes up again I'll give the protected mode a shot.

I can no longer view attachments in my Yahoo email account, since I upgraded to Firefox 8. The only option is to download all attachments. There used miniatures at the end of the email to view them without having to download. I checked my email in Internet Explorer and it's the proper functioning and the thumbnail display. What can I do to solve this problem in Firefox?

OK, now, they show. I restarted my computer again and they are showing now.

  • Thunderbird does not download or send emails after you migrate

I've migrated to a new computer by using the method to copy the contents of the profiles folder in the new thunderbird profile. It recognizes my account and shows all the mails and folders, but it does not download or send emails. The pop3 and smtp e-mail settings seem ok

Thank you. There was no error message for the download of messages. In the error log, I found a comment that the certificate is already existing and should request a new later. To send messages, the error message says to check the SMTP settings. These were my correct provider.
I have a found a solution by creating local folders in my old profile, by transferring all e-mails in local folders and to then by copying only the local folders into a new profile. It works now. I have just all old messages in separate folders, which for me is not a problem.

  • I just installed, how do I disable the download of old emails?

I just installed TB and it prevents the download of old emails...

I don't want to download all the old emails in my account, how do I turn this off?

    Thank you

Just like Zenos said, it is difficult for any e-mail client which messages should be downloaded or not.

You can take a look at

    http://KB.mozillazine.org/Automatically_download_messages

    In

      Account settings > Server Settings

You can experiment a bit: for example, do not select "automatically download new messages.

Know that you * not * select "leave messages on server" messages that TB extractions (any email client) remain on the server (in contrast with IMAP).

  • How can I get my emails to download when one email seems to be stuck in my queue to download TB?

I've used TB for years and not had this problem before. This problem started today. Whenever I have 'Get mail' an email from 01:20 this afternoon is downloaded but none of the others downloaded 70 messages in the queue. I checked my e-mail account on my phone and e-mail stuck disappeared and all emails later are available. But all these emails later will not download TB. I have closed and restarted TB and rebooted my laptop but neither helped. It is certainly a problem with TB that began this afternoon.

No, you must go to your email provider's Web page, using an appropriate web browser. I know from experience that phones don't necessarily work on the basis of messages on the server.

  • If I move to a new folder, why it redownload all my emails

I have eight email accounts in Thunderbird set up as IMAP. It was to find work. Tonight, I copied e-mails to a flash as a backup drive. I picked a bunch of e-mails, right click and used the selection "save under". Now every time I have called TB or switch to a folder, it will download again all my emails. And there are thousands with attachments. What's happened, just by saving some to a flash drive? And how can I get this back?

    I use Windows 8.
    Thunderbird Version 24.4.0
    User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; WOW64; RV:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/24.4.0
    Profile folder

Over time, files get bigger and that is why whenever you synchronize, the file is bigger, so it may take longer.

    Options to improve speed:

Delete email you do not need and compact (riffle) records to ensure that deleted messages have really been deleted from the server.

Archives of older emails. He then moves to another folder and reduced the size of the current folder. Then just choose to synchronize with these files archived to see old messages when necessary.

Re; "How can I do to stop this and download only when they are new? '"
You can configure it so that it only syncs the last number of days xx or xx number of emails. But I already gave a link to see how to do this.
    See here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/imap-synchronization#w_configuring-synchronization-and-disk-space-usage

It is also possible that you have saved searches that also take place.
A search for an IMAP account folder supports both online off line research. However, the name is misleading: it essentially allows you to create a virtual folder. "Online search" simply means that the virtual folder is updated each time you open it. It is may also have occurred. You can disable the global search and delete the necessary files from the profile.
    see info: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Minimize_the_size_of_a_profile

E-mail POP accounts cannot see that the Inbox server. So if you were to create a Pop email account, it looks in the server Inbox and download everything in this folder. Subsequently, it would only download new mail has not been downloaded. These emails would be then stored on your computer, so you need to make regular backups. E-mails in other server folders are invisible by Pop email accounts, then you must move in the server Inbox, then download them, and then move them into folders named properly in Thunderbird; Repeat for each folder on the server.

  • I can't receive all my email on outlook express?

I get all my emails.  Nothing has changed and they are commercial partners that ive had for years.  They can read mine, I can't get Thiers?  What can I do to restart or update, or even to check Outlook?

    Thank you

    GlenSB

I moved your post on the forum that deals with Outlook Express.

If you do not receive the messages from people, and they tell you that they sent them, there are two places to look.  The first is in your own mailbox.  You must determine if the messages are delivered, but Outlook Express just is not bring or if they are not reach your Inbox mailbox.  The first you can manage; the second is out of your control (but not, perhaps, independent of the will of the people, sending to you).

If you use Outlook Express, you use a POP or IMAP account, since that's all what Outlook Express can handle.  The account type is probably POP.  If Outlook Express is not access your messages, then it is likely, they are not in the Inbox folder on the server side.  To check, log in your Inbox mailbox using a web browser.  Your mail service provider will be instructions to do this.  Examine the Inbox on the server.  If messages do not exist, Outlook Express cannot download them.  Many servers have a folder 'Spam' or 'Junk mail' in which they will place questionable messages.  Look in this folder to see if the messages that you think you should have gotten are there.  If you find them, move them to the Inbox on the server and the white list the addresses of your shippers on the server so that it will never divert these shippers again.  Suppliers of Help included pages have directions for that, too.

If you do not see the messages that you receive, then your mailers must do some research because their messages do not reach your Inbox mailbox at all.  It's nothing, you can address; they will have to do.  Ask them if they receive non-delivery reports when they send you messages and know what these non-delivery reports.  If they get no notice of non-delivery has failed, they will have to register their providers of messaging services to help track down where the delivery will fail.

  • Windows 10 votes against 7, lost all existing emails

I use windows live mail 2011.  recently upgraded to windows 10 and hated for various reasons.  my existing email went through fine.  I decided after a week of return to windows 7.  Once completed the "downgrade", all existing emails in all folders (some more than 10 years) had disappeared.  the email function still worked, but all previous emails had disappeared.  Microsoft has been absolutely no help.  any ideas.  is it possible that they are still on my hard drive and recoverable by the appropriate technician?

I made a backup external drive but a system restore could not restore the lost emails.

-> System restore is designed to restore the Windows system files. It is not intended as a safeguard for the user files mechanism. People who have lucky and know how it's done (e.g. you) can sometimes retrieve files of the user a system restore. However, you cannot rely on it.

Any suggestions on the restoration of the wlm for the real e-mail program files?

-> I don't know anything about WLM. Best of ask the experts in a WLM forfum:
