My MacBook Pro seems to often very warm to the touch. Does anyone know if placing a keyboard silicone keyboard cover will be retain heat even more, possible damaging consequences?

In this regard, including at - it an app that can tell me if it works too hot? (I SMCFanControl, that shows me the fan RPM and allows me to control, but his screen usually something like '32˚ F', even in the summer - I'm not sure what said me).

Maybe it's that you have a bad sensor or a problem with the fan speed control

Also do you have any runaway apps?

  • MacBook Pro mid-2012 running hot (MacOS Sierra)

    Hello

    I have a MBP mid-2012 13 inch with 16 GB. of ram and a 500 GB. SSD

I had it set up with boot camp and dualboot El Capitan and MS-Windows-10

Everything is working, all the features and functions in the two operating systems.

I was very pleased with this MBP.

Recently, I put a new battery in it and upgraded to Mac OS Sierra.

Since then the MBP runs hot.

    It heats up very quickly.

Is this a common problem with macOS Sierra?

Or do you think that the NEW battery maybe causing the MBP get HOT?

I use an adapter to power 85 watts OEM.

The battery seems to work fine.

Several demons as mdworker are running to set up the Sierra which CPU load until adjustment ended.

My Macbook Pro does the rattling when I'm streaming videos on Amazon using the Opera browser.  There also seems to be hot.  How can I fix it?  It's the browser?

It is normal for it to become hot streaming videos. It is not the browser, but you can test by using a different browser. In regards clicking sounds that could be a hard drive (if your model has one) or a fan. If there's something to fix it should be taken for repair. After about 20 minutes using my 2012 MacBook Air gets very hot and the cooling fan starts to operate at full speed. At the same time, it slows down considerably. Is this a sign that the battery must be replaced (anyone know the approximate cost to do this?)? However, I have no problem to recharge the battery and it seems to work for a reasonable period between charges.

  • updated my mac pro early 2011 book now really running hot

I wanted from the upgrade of my mac book pro early 2011 I7 quad core 8 G ram 2T HDD

So I finally did. I like it, but now my mac runs hot 116 degrees. the fans are running.

boot time has also more he takes more time.

I used my mac pro for dj book I also do a video mixer.

run final cut pro x no problem

I also do recording on a DAW. never had any problems so far.

I understand is difficult to test on all models is a solution for this.

I thought he was going to improve performance, I don't see it seems to take more time during startup.

How about this circle just turn around.

I know that you guys try.

I hope hear from you soon.

    Thank you

Run programs of type DJ on an Early 2011 MacBook Pro, while also on El Capitan put quite a strain on the machine. Programs of DJ using just the music will pull a use much more memory and CPU than normal, not to mention video mixing as well. That being said, you use a USB jack in a box/audio mixer (like SL3 or Pioneer DJM900) or you use a DJ controller?

I do not think that 116 degrees is too abnormally warm for the type of stress you put on the machine. I would possibly consider a SSD drive. Not only will improve performance, but because you will have parts in SSD, as you would in a standard hard drive, the machine should run cooler.

  • MBP runs hot with view on via Thunderbolt

My MBP (mid-2012) is connected to my iMac (mid 2011) by love at first sight for the use in target display mode. I'm on the second week of this configuration. Recently, the MBP started running hot and fans rev significantly (sometimes up to 6000 RPM) during the operation. I followed time via iStat and I'll see the GPU heats led also as 180F. On the case, the box at the top left of the keyboard has is where the MBP is hot to the touch.

Now, I have this remark especially if I do something intense like graphics editing, but it will even go through of cycles hot if I do nothing more than browse the web.

The MBP is on my wooden desk and I even started shoring on the back of it, and I run my fan of upper limit at any time.

Considering that the MBP does not begin immediately doing it once I started to plug into the iMac, is there something wrong here? I know computers laptops often run hot and are supposed to off automatically at certain times, but the fan noise is annoying, and potential acceleration of system damage is alarming.

Temperature (180 ° f) is certainly warm but well below the tolerable limits MBP which can operate in.  Yes, there are provisions that will cut the MBP if temperatures exceed operating limits "normal."

I suggest that whenever temperatures rise and start the fans running, open the activity monitor in all THE PROCESS and see what applications can use a lot of CPU resources.  If you can, stop these applications.

Another thing you could do is to open the MBP and see if there is dirt an debris aside, especially by the fans.  Clean up if this is the case.

Finally, will help you see if a SMC reset:

  • My adapter is running hot

My adapter is run hot during charging of my MacBook Pro, is - this normal?

    You mean your charger?

    Yes, it's hot during charging.

If you use an original charger provided by Apple and the cable, I don't think that there is nothing to worry.

  • Start the computer to black screen and the computer runs hot

    original title: sick Vista laptop

My daughter portable computer began acting strangely very yesterday.

Once connected, I get a black screen and a cursor.  The system seems to work at full speed, because I can hear the fan, and it runs very hot.  No matter how long it sits, the desktop does not appear.

I can use Ctrl-alt-del to display the Task Manager.  The list of processes is limited to the process of the current user, and none of them use important CPU. If I click on 'See the process for all users', taskmanager freezes and I have to disconnect to get rid of him.

Using the Task Manager, I can kill the process Explorer and then start it again, date at which I get my desktop.  However, it is still running hot and noisy.  With the help of SysInternals ProcessExplorer, there is no process using any important CPU.  Most of the time CPU is reported as inactive.

I don't know what to think.  A boot loader took over the system?  A hardware problem?  OS corrupted files?

Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

If your CPU is running at 80% which is abnormal, so you must work on why is finding and fixing that.

You can open the the Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) and on the process tab active check box in the lower part called "Show processes from all users", then click on the CPU column header to sort and look for a minute.

When things are although you should see the system idle process above.  The system idle process is actually how much free time so your CPU has more the better for this process.

If you see a svchost. exe process up and equips using too much CPU you probably have a condition known involving the Windows Update.   It is normal to see several svchost.exe process run much, but they can't do much on a normal system.

A symptom of the problem Windows Update is a svchost.exe process a lot of large amounts of RAM and CPU and fan works all the time at high speed, trying to keep it from overheating.  Another symptom we an update of Windows which seems to do nothing or takes too much time (hours +++) to retrieve updates.

And if you just reinstalled Windows for some reason you need especially to solve this problem with Windows Update ASAP – known then solve any remaining problems.

In this case, you must apply the suggestion of Volume Z:

Windows 7 update problems? First read this.

If and after that there's always a process consuming large amounts of CPU you need to tell us what it is or after a screen shot so we can see what it is:

  • iMac running HOT after Sierra installed

Someone at - he had a problem or noticed that their Mac running hot since the installation of Sierra?

In addition, 2 days ago, I got a notice that I had short-term memory application and iTunes and Safari have been paused. It was not all applications running overnight and I have 20 GB of RAM and it showed 18,86 GB have been used. I had to basically force iTunes and Safari to close, and then restart the iMac to free the memory and be able to access the computer.

Never had these problems before the Sierra has been installed. The iMac never ran "to hot' (more than 121 degrees last night - due close to refresh it).

So if anyone ran into any of these questions or knows a solution I would be very happy.

    Difficulty installing Sierra

Try each of them in order. A test to see if the computer works properly:

    1. Reset the PRAM
    2. Reset the controller (SMC) system management
    3. Start the computer in Safe Mode, and then restart normally. It's slower than a standard home.
    4. Repair the disk by booting to the HD recovery immediately after that the chime press the command and R keys until the Utility Menu appears. Choose disk utility and click on the continue button. Select the withdrawal (usually Macintosh HD) volume entry of the list to one side.  Click first aid button in the toolbar. Wait the fact button appear. Disk utility and return in the Utility Menu. Restart the computer from the Apple Menu.
    5. Reinstall OS X by booting from the Recovery HD using the command and R keys. When the Utility Menu appears, select reinstall OS X and then click on the continue button.

My Macbook Air is running out of storage, my photos are in addition, is there any kind of external storage which allows me to transfer my photo library to her and held still as I have on my macbook?

Pretty much any external hard drive will allow you to transfer your Photos and iTunes libraries for use directly off the drive.  Here's how to iTunes and I'm sure it's similar for the Photos.

Page 6 of Apple, meticulous instructions step by step: how to move your iTunes library to a new computer - https://support.apple.com/HT204318 it is convenient if you think that all your materials are not in the standard location.

My resume in a sentence if you use preferences by default iTunes settings: copy the folder integer iTunes (and to ensure that all of its subfolders and files) intact at the other disk, hold down the option/alt key (shift on Windows) keys to start iTunes and on request to select a library select iTunes Library.itl file in the copied folder (open a different iTunes library file or create a new one - https://support.apple.com/HT201596).
