I got this error for a few months. Initially, I came across it trying to update Java, Adobe Reader and now RIM Blackberry Desktop Manager.
The specific error is "Error 1606 could access the network location:.", with the colon and the dot at the end. Therefore, it is difficult to know exactly what registry entry, it's.
I tried to change various registry keys and using a number of files of Microsoft "Fix it for me", but the error remains.
Can someone help me please identify the location of the network that weird symbols ":." to refer and possible to put an end to this problem once and for all?
I'd be happy to re - try fix if proposed as a possible solution. Thanks in advance.

A week ago, my computer has decided it is no longer the player adobe support or allow me to upload photos. I can't imagine that's all what I did, but that's happened through automatic updates of windows. The prompt I get to adobe's platform Windows does more support this feature. I tried to download a new version OD adobe reader, but the computer won't let me. He begins to remind me of HAL in "2001 a Space Odyssey." what someone has ideas. Oh also, I downloaded IE 8 hoping it would address two issues, nada.

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
If the problem persists only with Office 2010 then I suggest you to get help on the Office 2010 forum website:

I just finished a re install of Windows 7 Premium, IE11

My problem is, when I tried to download Adobe Reader and Flash Player it downloads and opens in the message box, so the last part is to install, I just get this black window, there is nothing in the entire window. I tried this a dozen times, but each time its always the same.
Can someone help me understand this, please...
Hey Valerie
If you download a standalone Offline Installer (i.e. that does not download the program all by installing) the same problem occur?
Adobes FAQ page States after the download is complete and the installation begins actually downloaded file is located in the downloads. Try to run this file and see if the black screen is still happening.
Thank you

Hi sowingseeds,
Please try to run the cleanup tool "Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat tool - Adobe Labs" on your machine to remove all traces of the reader.
Then, restart your machine and install the latest version of the player from here:

Also please check with the account of another user if the problem persists.
Let me know how it goes.

I was unable to update Adobe Reader in my computer; then I uninstalled the program. When I tried to download the latest version of Adobe, I received a message stating that the most recent version of Adobe is already installed on my computer. I don't see Adobe on the list of applications on my computer, any suggestions on what to do? Thank you...

New York requires the fulfillment of its RP-5217-PDF form for all real estate closings. The form automatically generates a bar code. My office uses Apple/Mac computers and the barcode appears in all versions of Adobe Reader and Acrobat Pro before DC. DC watch version the form without a bar code. The form is available here: https://www.tax.ny.gov/pdf/current_forms/orpts/rp5217.pdf is there a preference setting in DC that I'm missing, or is broken for the most recent version of the Adobe on a Mac? Help, please.
I thought it was resolved in the continuous version of Acrobat and Reader, but maybe not... You can report the problem here: feature request/Bug Report Form
A workaround would be to upgrade to XI player for now. I agree this is a major issue and hope Adobe will solve it soon.

How do I get Adobe Reader DC? I got the free software Adobe Reader and now I seem to have the DC version, which has a cost and I do not remember change? Why can't I find a phone number to speak directly to Adobe?
Acrobat Reader is free.

At the old version of adobe reader and upgrade inadvertently WAA CD player. realized that I could change is no longer with this and tried to uninstall and reinstall and older versiono, but could not. Tried to reinstall the domain controller new version and it would not, indicating that the newer Version is already installed. Nothing in programs and features.
Looks like a job for the cleaning tool: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat tool - Adobe Labs.
If you prefer XI player, make sure that "Install updates automatically" is not enabled under Edit > Preferences > Updater. It is possible to download and apply patches manually.
