  • On NEW laptop keyboard does not work after that the screen keyboard has been activated and then deactivated.

Look at my friend got a new laptop and went through the whole upward. the on-screen keyboard has been activated which invalidates the real keyboard when the on-screen keyboard has been disabled the real keyboard has NO return. If this is a bug... Fix it. This is not a driver issue, it is not a user error. Stop giving people answers, trying to pretend like it's not not the OS when most people already know that it is.

I'm sorry, but I didn't not new meant only one day.  And when I got my new laptop, one of the first things I did was to create a point of files, even a day later I had a restore to use - point and that was possible here as well.  I'm sorry it wasn't the case.

If the system restore option is not available, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not work, you can try to go into the BIOS during the startup (the key appropriate to push appear on the screen to enter the boot menu or boot installation - try them both in turn if both appear. It is possible that the BIOS contains an option to disable the keyboard (which may have been activated by the keyboard on the screen but not changed when disable you the on-screen keyboard) and you may need to re-enable manually.  There is a slight possibility, but it is an option to try.

Another option to try is to set up a new user account that has never used the keyboard on the screen and see if the regular keyboard works when you connect to this account.  If so, you can simply treat the original as a corrupt account account and use the following procedures to complete the transfer.  To fix this use http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.

I hope that one of these aid procedures.  I'm sorry if they seem to 'generic', but we do not really know what is the problem - especially since the system is new.  We try and identify the cause and fix the problem at the same time using the procedures available to us.  I suspect there's a registry tweak will correct this problem, but I went through the whole registry, and although I found several referencers keyboard, I could find no which seemed to control or not activate the main laptop keyboard (though it has been in one of the entries that has been encoded in binary that I couldn't read).  It's possible someone who knows more about the registry will respond to this issue with a proposal to amend (or perhaps another solution).

I hope that one of the solutions I proposed works.  Please post back in all cases we will know whether or not to continue searching for an answer.

    Good luck!

  • New Dell keyboard has a Fn key (model keyboard is "GVWNX")

This new keyboard Dell 'GVWNX' doesn't have a Fn key.  I see a number of instructions from Dell on the use of the Fn and a function at the top of the keyboard key to access the various functions - one being the ability to disable the Wifi connection.

How to operate the functions that normally involve Fn and a function key?

(This new Dell Inspiron 3847 desktop PC was shipped by Dell runnning Windows 7 Home Premium).

If you use Windows 7, here's how to turn off your wifi connection.

Control Panel-> network and Internet-> Network and Sharing Center-> change the adapter settings-> click on your wireless adapter and click on disable.

To get the icon wireless/wired in your taskbar, go to where the icon would be and click on the small arrow pointing upwards. This should appear more icons, but also an option to change the settings. Click on the settings and it will bring up a list of all the icons that appear in the taskbar yor. Find the icon wireless and wired and change it to "always show".

  • Need new keyboard for Satellite A660

    Hello

I need to get a new keyboard to replace the one in my laptop Toshiba Satellite because some keys stopped working.

My computer is a Toshiba Satellite A660-PSAW3A-07P00R.

I have been looking online at different and a single list as "fitting Toshiha Satellite A660 laptop computers".

Does anyone know if different laptops of the A660 other shape series computers laptops, or I need to find the specific part that is compatible with the number of my computer?

In addition, the keyboard of my laptop doesn't have the function of backlit, but in some lists I could find that didn't function backlit.

Anyone know if the backlit keyboard is a size different from that which is not backlit and therefore it does not my laptop?

I would be very grateful of any help.

    Thank you.

When the keyboard is removed on the back side is a sticker with part number that you can use to search for and order new keyboard. In my opinion this is the best and easiest way to find a good keyboard.

Keyboard with backlight has additional cable for power and you cannot use it with our machine, so, in my opinion, there is no sense to buy it. Remove the keyboard and we part of the keypad number.

I don't know if you have experience with disassembly, but be careful if you want to do it yourself. Small mistake and something may be broken. If all this is too risky for you I recommend you to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They can order the original keyboard and switch to... I think only 20 minutes.

The keyboard made by Logitech for iPad 12,9 Pro is backlit. However, I don't know if they make a still for the 9.7.

  • New keyboard - arrival time is 2 weeks. Is - this excessive?

    HI guys,.
I'm new to this forum, so please be gentle lol.

I just brought a Toshiba laptop not even three months ago. Now the keypad has failed, and they told me after a week where he is in the shop it would be another two weeks until arrived it from parts. That Toshiba had not in Australia.
I'm a little disappointed by that, because it's a new computer and you would think that x amount of spare parts would be part in Australia. Or even have quick access to a service center.

Now, I work in logistics and understanding of the issues in play, but two weeks?

    Hello

When you have a hardware problem, please contact Toshiba service directly and not ask for help in some store. They have no idea what either. Who knows what they are doing and where they ordered the new keyboard.

So I recommend you to visit the Toshiba support under http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/service-centres page and communicate directly with the service of Toshiba. It's a warranty issue and you will get new free game.

  • Sam 4070cdt: need a new keyboard - that references?

Hi I have an old satellite 4070cdt and I need a new keyboard, but do not have the model number.
Does anyone know were I can find this please.

    Hello Steve

I see that you posted a few topics to your machine.
Well kill the keyboard: it would be very useful to know which language of keyboard, you need because the part number depends on a language keyboard layout.
For example the German keyboard is PA2219GR part number and with English layout keyboard has the PA2219EN part number

  • Where can I get a new keyboard for my Tecra A3 in the United Kingdom?

I spilled water - heck! -a couple of days ago on my Tecra A3 and I think it is beyond fixing, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

I was not clean it regularly and I think there's probably some dust - and other foreign bodies - under the keys and I think that dust got, through the water, in the electronics connecting the keys to the white fabric - I don't know what you call it - the keyboard connecting links for the rest of the machine.

Most of the keys does not work, and some of them, they work, whey in free, add additional letters for a tap.

I removed the keyboard and left it and the machine to dry and when has not toured and dried the keyboard and surrounding parts thorougly - working delicately - cleaned using a little bit of alcohol and ear hydrophilic cotton cleaners. I also used a small air pressure producing machine to try to get rid of any dust. I think I did a job just, but it still does not.

I think I have to buy a new keyboard. Do you know where can I get a new keyboard A3 in England or a second hand keyboard that would be in perfect working order?

    Thanking you in advance,

    Conor Joyce

  • HP 14-x010nr: new keyboard for HP 14-x010nr

I need to replace the keyboard on my HP 14-x010nr Chromebook. I suppose I must have picked up it wrong, because the entire column that contains the '8', 'I', 'K' and comma does not work. I have been using the keyboard on the screen or pasting in a model, but it makes my job pretty slow.

All I need to know is where I can buy a new keyboard and how to install it.

    REPAIR:

See page 7 for a list of parts and 23 for installation instructions. The keyboard and lid are all one piece and that's the part number we:

    HP has available for $78:

The part is not found anywhere else because it is not a product that was sold to high volume.

  • Question about my new keyboard

My parents gave me a multimedia keyboard Microsoft 1. 0 to because my Dell keyboard was dying.  Multimedia keyboard has a PS/2 end and I only have USB ports, so I bought an adapter.  Who will perform the quick launch on the keyboard buttons?  The sticker on the bottom of the keyboard said KB-0168, so is no help.

It is unlikely that the USB-PS/2 adapter will work. It can't hurt to try, but this has nothing to do with the special buttons work decisions. You need drivers for the keyboard that will provide the software for special of the keyboard keys. Here is a link to the drivers

    http://www.Microsoft.com/hardware/download/DownloadResult.aspx?category=MK&type=keyboard&name=key-00028&OS=XP_32&lang=en

Connect the keyboard to your computer using the adapter that you have purchased. If it works fine. Download and install the drivers and you should get the advanced features of this keyboard.

If the adapter does not work, go buy a new USB keyboard. You can buy a standard USB keyboard for $10-15, so it's no big deal. I bought quite a few very good Logitech keyboards from NewEgg for $14 ea.

  • New keyboard or shift button available in Serbia?

I am in Belgrade during the winter break and my Thinkpad has failed. My left shift key fell because pimples plastic on plastic (translucent/white) moving parts disappeared.

This is the third mechanical failure on my current Thinkpad simply due to wear. It's only a little more than two years. My last Thinkpad a T41p had 4 years before the welds on the default display began - and that was the only failure, the computer never known. I'm afraid that the build quality may suffer a bit.

So far on this computer, I have replaced the hinge and am about to replace the touchpad / palm rest Assembly. The left button of the mouse wore out and is no longer usable.

I do some CAD work and having a broken button shift is maddeningly annoying. Is there a way to get a new keyboard delivered to my apartment in Belgrade, or y at - it a local service center that would have new keyboards in stock? My warranty is parts only at this time, but I'm happy to do the work myself. I managed to change my LCD hinges without any problem. I tried calling American support number via Skype, but my internet connection did not work well enough for me actually communicate clearly.

HM, I would if I had more time before my departure. I leave in three days!

Should I also listed my current computer. I have a T61p, 4:3 varieties of 14.1 ". It is still under warranty, so I would like to see if I can get the part replaced by Lenovo. The problem is that they have no support for the Serbia phone number. I could try to call Croatia...

    Thank you!!

Edit: I managed to get Skype to work and I got to the American line. They are sending me a new keyboard to my home before my arrival. Yay! Everything is supported.

  • Keyboard has its own life!

I have a brand new T410i.     Running Windows 7.    I got it for a few days.   A couple of times already they keyboard has just gone 'crazy' on me.    I'll be typing away and then the cursor moves to the right, text will erase as I type it.  It happened when I was browsing the web and it will click links on its own... or if I do a Google search, search to return results once it will just open one of the links... The pointer will be difficult to control.    The only thing that fixes it is when I stop and restart Windows.    No rhyme or reason as to what triggers it.   My laptop was on during a few hours today and then he began to act up.    Any ideas?   I checked the drivers and according to Windows, it uses more updated drivers.

  • Hello, please help me. I use a power keyboard for my laptop. I see in the new keyboard is equipped with a num lock key is turned on. I can't use on it please help me disable it. I do not use a NumLock on. Thank you

Hello, please help me. I use a power keyboard for my laptop. I see in the new keyboard is equipped with a num lock key is turned on. I can't use on it please help me disable it. I do not use a NumLock on. Thank you

You say that when you press the NUM LOCK key, the Numlock State does not change (if enabled to disabled and vice versa)?  Have you tried to unplug the keyboard and by ensuring that the keyboard of the laptop does not have enabled Numlock?  If so, turn it off on the laptop keyboard and reinsert the another keyboard and see if the problem is resolved.

If you do not need the Numlock key, it can be disabled at startup with the following procedure:http://www.technipages.com/enabledisable-numlock-at-login-or-startup.html. Once this is done, I don't think he's going to turn on or off and that they the keyboard will start in the off position.  You will not be able to use the key yourself or another, but maybe the problem she is on (which is worse than it to be impossible to be turned on) will be resolved and I hope it will be enough for you.

If the key does not work and you want to be able to use it, the keyboard may be defective.  Try the keyboard on another computer and see if you have the same problem.  If so, the keyboard is defective and must be replaced.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!
