My new laptop with windows 8 won't let me change the language
I just bought a lenovo ideapad z580 with windows 8 preinstalled. I'm living in Germany windows 8 is in German but I'm British and don't speak very good German.
I tried several times to download and install the language pack English Windows, but I still get the same message - "non installed" - not installed. I removed the German language from the language selection, but it makes no difference: it remains always "aktiviert" - active. Can anyone help?
How to change the language of Windows 8 "display"...

Windows 7 won't let me change the settings to import images
HelloI hope someone can help with this one! When I try to import images using Auto play "Import pictures and videos using windows" dialogue opens that gives me the choice of 'Mark' photos. The import settings"(in blue) shows also available to change the import settings but when I click it nothing happens? Out of curiosity I went to profiles, my partner profile has attempted to do the same thing and when I clicked on the "import setting" a new dialog box open for inviting me to make changes, I tried. So my question is:
Why does Windows 7 let me not change my own profile import settings, and how do I reset the import settings?I have searched questions and knowledge base but cannot find an answer to my specific problem.Any help is appreciated!LaurieHello
I suggest to create a new user account and check. If it works in a new user account, then probably your user account have been damaged and would need a fix.
Create a user profile.

Windows 8 won't let me change the settings of Windows updates
Hi, I'm changing my Windows Update settings from Automatic to Manual, but the option is not available in the Windows Update screen. I use my Live admin account not to claim, I also have a local administrator account and the same thing is happening: Windows Update settings cannot be changed. Attached photo...
Intended to clarify, I'm not in any network, it is an Stand-alone Windows 8 processor ASUS TX300CA laptop and basically, I try to avoid the nagging Windows 8.1 update pop-up. There are programs that I use and which do not work well, or simply do not work on Windows 8.1 if I ever go back to Windows 8.
Thanks in advance for your support
First of all, you need to remove all that you have done to try to block the 8.1 update. That is why it is said that your settings are "managed by an administrator", because the administrator (probably you) put in changes in your registry or policy settings to cause this.
Or if you don't, then a virus did. Because someone, or something, went in and changed your policy and registry settings.
So if you don't, I recommend that you run system restore to undo the change unintentional, then run a full scan.

I have a new laptop with windows 7 when I get on facebook games action lages and do not move smoothly is something I need to download or change the settings to make it work smoothly, it does only with games
burningbush,
It can also be a problem with the game running through Facebook server. I noticed a difference in great step lately with Farmville on Facebook compared to when I started playing. You should check to see if it seems to be the same on the other PC. I noticed the problem on several machines in different places, so I know that it was not limited to a PC.

"" In the window that appears, you should games and next to it a button "+". Go ahead and click the button "+". You should see Chess titans here. If it is unchecked then go ahead and check it and click OK when you are finished. It should appear in the Games folder in the start menu and Explorer games now. You can or you have to may not restart. It should tell you if it is necessary, however.

I bought a new laptop with Windows 7 installed. Whenever I restart it, it has installed updates which can take up to an hour or freezes. You can ignore the automatic updates of Windows 7?
You can turn off the automatic updates, Yes, but doing so would leave your computer at risk. Simply put with him: after another reboot or two, you will be fully patched AND fix!

I have a laptop with Windows 7 Professional older and want to keep my programs and files intact and transfer to a new laptop, with Windows 7 Home, pre-installed.
First try the image restore option. If that does not work, use your professional Windows 7 disc and boot from it, delete all partitions, then attempt to restore image.
Don't forget: save your Home Premium installation before doing any of this.

I am trying to transfer my files to my new laptop with Windows 7 for my old laptop with Windows XP Professional, using the Windows Easy Transfer, that I found on my old laptop. I tried to make the transfer through my home wireless network and when that did not work... I connected the two laptops with a cable (the same style of cable, used to connect his computer to a modem or router, not a cable SSB).
So in summary, I just want to transfer all my files from my old laptop to my new laptop. I copied the master file of my data from my old laptop on a "stick" assuming that I could download just to stick to the new laptop. (I have a lot of "sticks" here.) The idea did not work, of course, results otherwise wouldn't ask this question now.
If you had previously copied simply data (documents folders) via a key files should be no problem during the copying of that stick to the library on win7 locations, and is there's this which is exactly the err MSG?

I can't install my quickbooks 2010 on my new laptop with Windows 8
Original title: Installation of quickbooks 2010 on Windows 8
Help! I can't install my quickbooks 2010 on my new laptop with Windows 8. Does anyone know the tricks?
It is a wrong answer to the question. QuickBooks 2010 cannot be installed from the CD because the CD tries to install Flash and Flash is already built into Windows 8. The solution is to download QuickBooks from Intuit web site and install the downloaded version. It installs without problem and works very well. Here is the link for reference: http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/Articles/INF12417

Hi Tanuj,
There is no place to change fonts.
You must go to the LR Edit (or Lightroom on Mac) menu > Preferences > Interface > choose 'Options' in the menu 'panels '. There should be a setting for the font size of Interface. You will need to close and restart LR for the font change are taken into account.

She was not able to buy since she lives outside the United States, but it won't let me change the recipient. Is it possible that I can change the recipient or even recover my $1.29? Thank you.
