Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan in Safe Mode.   Method 1

  Looks like you're using a laptop and this would happen if the default audio device is not set to internal computer speakers.

  (a) open the Control Panel.

  (b) double click on the sounds and Audio devices icon.

  (c) click the Audio tab and under audio playback, select the audio device on the laptop.

  (d) click apply and restart the computer, check to see if it helps.

  If you get this day without problem, try the Setup disk (or configure the router manually, if you prefer) and see if you can get your work and router configuration.

  If you can not ' response to... ". "in step 9 above, your router is probably dead. A report with this problem

  If you get a response in step 9, but cannot complete step 10, is that your router is dead or the firmware is damaged. Related to this issue.

  If you need additional assistance, please indicate your ISP, the make and model of your modem, the firmware version of your router and the results of steps 9 and 10. In addition, if you receive error messages, copy them exactly, and report.

  Somehow my diary of the administrator password does not work. I tried everyting. I use Windows Vista.

  I continue to be asked to provide a 'A' floppy to recover my password, but there is no floppy drive on my computer.  I have not configured a retreival diskette.

  I am not able to access all the programs that I installed as an administrator through the comments log in.

  I tried to re - install the complete operating system after no longer being able to access my programs and I am not allowed to do it either.

  I'm sorry but the Microsoft forum rules do not help users circumvent passwords of Windows OS or software systems.

  I do not understand why you have problems with re-setup because it has nothing to do with your original administrator password. Your copy of Windows came pre-installed on your PC or did you buy a boxed copy and install it yourself?

  If you are unable to re - install probably you get error messages. What these error messages?

  I have a laptop model Toshiba P205-56347 running Vista home premium and a lynksis WRT54G V8 router model.  The WLAN light is solid and the internet light flashes on the Linksys.  I have Comcast cable as my ISP.

  I've seen reported similar problems.  All of a sudden my wirless acess stopped working, some networks are displayed and I get the message 'windows wireless service does not work on the computer.  I am not able to restart the windows wireless.  I can't connect to the internet on the laptop.  I have a DELL PC and can access the internet here if necessary.

  In the network and Discovery Center, I see that network discovery is disabled.  I can't set it to on.

  Under system devices, I have the following network cards: Intel (r) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN and Realtek RTL8101 Family PCI - E Fast Ethernet NIC (NDIS6.0).

  Help, please.  I'd appreciate any help.  I need a good starting point for resolution and wouldn't start using suggestions that corrects other issues.  I design financial systems and purchase online, but I'm not a technical person with regard to updates Vista, drivers, etc..

  You can try running sfc/scannow to see if you have corrupted files. That won't be a further problem on your pc. After that, you want to make sure you have the latest drivers for your laptop, especially drivers of the NIC (network card). Go to the following link to Toshiba for your model and download those:

  I bought this laptop from a friend (have receipt) who sell it to me because the screen was cracked and spidered all out when you the activated. And everywhere he went to ask to get the screen fixed it is very expensive ($250 - $350) and he said that it would be just a newer laptop. So he sold me this which is a model Probook of HP4420s XT940UT #ABA. About a week after I bought this Probook friend who sold it to died me suddenly. It was sudden and terrible. Some time later, I had the time of the purchase of the LCD for this model, replace it myself (was very easy actually) and booted up the laptop with a new installation of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Edition. After installing all my software and using the laptop for a while now, I wanted to get into the Bios that I've never done. So when I started the laptop, click ESC, then F10 to enter the BIOS, there were two places to enter a password is different then all Dell I've ever owned. One was mine I guees I put in place using HP protect tools and the other says BIOS/administrator. Well I can do most of the changes with the one I put in place with my password but my password does not work, nor can I get in some very significant changes that I wanted to do using Bios/administrator, as kindling the LoJack, namely the blocking of the hard drive etc. , turning on turbo boost, fan, etc. Well, since the person I bought is no longer with us, there is no one to turn to the answer to this question of administrator/BIOS password / problem.  I tried to take battery Rtype and restore that way, didn't work. Several times, I called HP and they sent me to a BIOS page to download the same BIOS, I have already, would not let me install it. When I bring up the command prompt and do not put anything in BiosConfigureUtility.exe happens, said just a wrong command. When I try to enter the BIOS through the C: file in the files of the SSM, I reach the BiosConfigUtility.exe file, click on it to open it and it just flashes a way small order page to fast to read what it says. I would like to have complete control over my laptop thinking I have a lot of time and money invested in it now.
