Friday when I signed up computer turned off, everything worked very well. Today it lit, and all of a sudden my password does not work. I had the computer about two years and everything was fine with the same password. Someone might have tried to sign without the correct password - would he have it? Somehow my diary of the administrator password does not work. I tried everyting. I use Windows Vista.
I continue to be asked to provide a 'A' floppy to recover my password, but there is no floppy drive on my computer. I have not configured a retreival diskette.
I am not able to access all the programs that I installed as an administrator through the comments log in.
I tried to re - install the complete operating system after no longer being able to access my programs and I am not allowed to do it either.
I'm at my wit's end! Can someone please?

I'm sorry but the Microsoft forum rules do not help users circumvent passwords of Windows OS or software systems.
I do not understand why you have problems with re-setup because it has nothing to do with your original administrator password. Your copy of Windows came pre-installed on your PC or did you buy a boxed copy and install it yourself?
If you are unable to re - install probably you get error messages. What these error messages?

I bought this laptop from a friend (have receipt) who sell it to me because the screen was cracked and spidered all out when you the activated. And everywhere he went to ask to get the screen fixed it is very expensive ($250 - $350)
and he said that it would be just a newer laptop. So he sold me this which is a model Probook of HP4420s XT940UT #ABA. About a week after I bought this Probook friend who sold it to died me suddenly. It was sudden and terrible. Some time later, I had the time of the purchase of the LCD for this model, replace it myself (was very easy actually) and booted up the laptop with a new installation of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Edition. After installing all my software and using the laptop for a while now, I wanted to get into the Bios that I've never done. So when I started the laptop, click ESC, then F10 to enter the BIOS, there were two places to enter a password is different then all Dell I've ever owned. One was mine I guees I put in place using HP protect tools and the other says BIOS/administrator. Well I can do most of the changes with the one I put in place with my password but my password does not work, nor can I get in some very significant changes that I wanted to do using Bios/administrator, as kindling the LoJack, namely the blocking of the hard drive etc. , turning on turbo boost, fan, etc. Well, since the person I bought is no longer with us, there is no one to turn to the answer to this question of administrator/BIOS password / problem. I tried to take battery Rtype and restore that way, didn't work. Several times, I called HP and they sent me to a BIOS page to download the same BIOS, I have already, would not let me install it. When I bring up the command prompt and do not put anything in BiosConfigureUtility.exe happens, said just a wrong command. When I try to enter the BIOS through the C: file in the files of the SSM, I reach the BiosConfigUtility.exe file, click on it to open it and it just flashes a way small order page to fast to read what it says. I would like to have complete control over my laptop thinking I have a lot of time and money invested in it now. Once you open a session with the service the customer of HP one case of pension, they will provide once the utility you and steps to execute it. who can capture the UUID. BTW - UUID is a unique ID for each machine (16 digits or more) stored in the BIOS itself.
Once the results of the utility (UUID and other info) in the log file, shared with HP, they can generate a key file (SMC) to reset.
Well, depertment of technical support can help you in it, no need to ask for anyone in particular or the Department.

my master password does not work, WHY?
I used my master password for quite awhile. Today when I put it in it does not work. HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN? I saw the the way to remove it, but then I lose about 28 login and password for all my financial sites. Why the P/W does not work? AND why would you if it can FAIL. Y at - it another way around this in addition to a total deletion of all my other passwords. I tried to restart my computer a couple of times to see if it would fix itself, but nothing helped.
Have you tried to close and restart Firefox or restart the computer to see if it have an impact?
What security (firewall, antivirus) software do you have?
If the MP password does not work and is not accepted if you get a prompt to connect to the software security device, then it is likely that the signons3.txt file got damaged or replaced by an older version.
You have a backup of files in the Firefox profile folder?
