My PC clock and date always change when I turn on the PC. How can I get the time to stay the same / correct?

Hello. Not sure if I have come to the right place with my question. I have Windows XP Home Edition.  My PC clock and date change every time I turn on my PC.  I set the time and date when I turn it on, but then when the PC was interrupted and I next turn to the, (after a period of time) the time and date will be incorrect - a few months and hours.  I have looked for ways to solve this problem, but couldn't find anything.  Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Anti-A,

-Remember to make changes to your computer before this problem started to happen?
-You are using a laptop or a desktop computer?

Determine if the loss of time is the result of a weak computer battery. Follow these steps to do the same thing:

a. click Start, point to programsand then click MS-DOS prompt.

b. at the command prompt, type time and then press ENTER.

c. compare this time with the time shown by the clock in the taskbar.

d. Type exit and press ENTER.

If the computer's time and the time on the clock are different, the computer's battery may be too low for accurate time, and it must be replaced. For more information on how to replace the battery, refer to the documentation that came with your computer.
