My PST file is 8 GB, is it possible to import the

After 20 years of Outlook, now moved to thunderbird as Outlook gives me a headache. The problem is that the pst file is 8 GB, is it still possible?

The best way to do this is to run Thunderbird on the same computer and configure it to import data from Outlook. It will negotiate with Outlook data. I don't know no limit on the size of the pst file.

Thunderbird itself offers no direct way to import a .pst file. ISTR that there are tools that can help with it, but again, I don't know if there is any limit.

  • Import emails and contacts from the backed up .pst files

I am setting up a new computer with thunderbird. I have a outlook on my old machine. I saved emails and contacts from outlook to a USB stick to transfer. I'm not finding where I can import .pst files into thunderbird. He is not one of the options available in the menu/import wizard.

Dear Google/Thunderbird team! This is a very inadequate solution: there must be a way to secure all mails outside the Thunderbird! I set up my pc and I am not prepared to go the extra mile beside the work that requires a new configuration.

Now I have everything back to gmail, set up the pc, install the Thunderbirds one order some x-thousand mails AGAIN!

I always back up my Outlook PST files as all my other documents, by using the standard Windows Vista backup feature.

In the end, it seems that the file is restored, and then open the PST file in outlook gives an error message saying that "the file C:\...\.*.pst is not a personal folders file.

  • Favorites, desktop & PST files files have disappeared.

I am running Windows 8 and Office 2013 on my Pro Surface which is connected to a windows server 2008 small business. I logged this morning & everything was according to the normal and then stop. 4 hours later, I've rekindled my Surface Pro back & noticed that files that have been made to my office were now missing! The I noticed that I had also lost my favorites IE10 & my PST files that are found also in this profile! The strange thing is that my trash all my deleted messages still there, my taskbar & desktop still has my shortcuts.

I rebooted, tried several restore points & registered in & out of the local machine & domain but nothing helped. I searched on the drive C for files & shortcuts that I know were there, but nothing comes up in the search. From what I see they disappeared in the air all of a sudden! I searched the internet for the last 8 hours to find a solution, but I don't see that anyone else has had this problem! I also made a thorough analysis of the virus on my computer using the software from TrendMicro, I installed but nothing was detected.

I have the start menu classic Shell installed & I had installed an update for it yesterday. The only other thing I did recently was yesterday that I had moved to the location of my user account location in the tree of folders on the Server Active Directory users & computers. I have a problem this morning then it seems as if it happened out of the blue!

I am very desperate to find a solution that was my documents on my desk, favorite links to lots and lots of Web sites that I use for work & years of emails saved in my PST file. Yes I know, I had a backup of my local computer :(

    Thank you

    Dean.

Detective Conan... computer local has reduced the problem down to a windows update that was not installed correctly, which has damaged my profile folder. Not a happy camper! :(

  • Impossible to decode and import the wav/mp3 file selected"error in Captivate 4

    Good afternoon.

I exported and modified a Captivate presentation audio in Soundbooth. After editing, I save the file as a. WAV. When I import the file to the slide, I receive the error message listed above.

I followed the other discussions in the forum and performed the following:

    XP Pro (32 bit - SP3)

    E-Learning Suite

    Captivate 4

    Soundbooth CS4

    • Downloaded and installed new NSAudio.dll
    • NSAudio.dll successfully registered
    • Ran successfully the restoreCP4regentries.bat and the restoreRegPermCP4.bat
    • Restarted the computer
    • Ran the program as long as administrator (even if he asked me to re - register the product - a little strange)

I always get the error when I try to import WAV files. If I convert the files to MP3 format, they can be imported. At the moment I prefer not to import them in MP3 format.

WAV format is uncompressed, 44, 32 floating little (I also tried other bits).

I lost a whole afternoon of productivity to this.

Any thoughts on how to solve this problem? It seems that I followed all the recommendations I've seen so far.

    Hello

Captivate seems a bit picky about WAV format. You might have to adjust a few settings with the WAV output. You could start by trying the following and see if it is resolved.

Start with a backup copy of the audio clip

    Open base Windows Sound Recorder

Open the WAV file with questions in sound recorder

    Click file > save as

Click the change... button - make no changes, and click OK (this should change it to PCM format)

Try to import the WAV file after that and see what happens.

Personally, I would use the MP3 myself. Not sure why you are against it. After all, this is what will end up in your compiled result.

  • Is there a way to read the settings in a .pst file?

    Hi all!

I looked everywhere for info on this and found nothing. Anyone know how to read the settings contained in a .pst file? I found some that I really like, but would like to know what they are doing. In other words, what are the different used FX and what are their settings? I would use some other users have created as a starting point to create my own channels of FX. Open in a text editor doesn't show something like:

    @^@^@D^@^A^A^@^@^@^@^KEMAGPPST^@^@^A^H^@^@^@^@Âp^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@¿< 80 > ^ @^ @^ @^ @^ @^ @^ @^ @^ @^ @^ @^ @^ @^ @? < 80 > ^ @^ @@ ^ @^ @^ @

Is there a way to show somehow what they do and what they use the settings?

    Thank you!

You're right, the settings file contain only of the code when opened in a text editor.

But why don't you just open settings in a project, this way of seeing exactly what Plugins are loaded. Opening of the plug-in window will show you their parameters.

The only restriction is that GarageBand has only a limited view of Plugin window which can not show all settings. To do this you must open in Logic Pro X.

    Hope that helps

  • Given the migration from Outlook to Thunderbird. I have several pst files that I want separated in thunderbird, because they are separate files in Outlook.

I have several (about 12) PSTs in Outlook, each more than 500 MB. I want to migrate to Thunderbird, but don't want all merged in a database of wholesale Thunderbird pst files. Is this possible? Currently I use rules to move messages from the Inbox Outlook in those separate pst files, based on the subject. Also, I drag messages into my Inbox in these separate files for archival purposes, which preserves values my 'active' main email box.
    Thank you
    John

Let's start from the beginning. Thunderbird has a single file by file. From the next release (about a month) you will be able to have a file by email.

There is nothing in Thunderbird as a PST file. So before you start, you have to accept the changes in mind that goes with mail. Records are the only delimiter in Thunderbird. You do not get to attach and detach folders or files. They are in Thunderbird or deleted.

  • import the .pst file into Thunderbird that contains the addresses of exported Outlook

I have a .pst on my PC file exported from Outlook that contains all my addresses. How to import in Thunderbird?

I tried earlier import Addressen Outlook into Thunderbird address book, but it does not invite:

There is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot meet demand for Messaging. Outlook has been at this point in time, my e-mail defauls client.

I hope I made myself understood

    The usual method:
set Outlook as the default e-mail client

    then in thundrbird:
    Tools > import
Select: address books and click Next
    Select: Outlook and click Next

    Otherwise:
    In Outlook
Export the address book to a .csv file

    Then in Thunderbird
    Tools > import
Select: address books and click Next
Select: text file (Ldif, .tabtable, .csv, .txt) and click Next
Find the registered .csv file and click Open
You may need to map the fields.
