  Remove the Dock and navigate to your Macintosh HD > users > yourusername folder, drag them to the dock of this place.

  I have a macbook under snow leopard 10.6.8 and for some reason when I open a folder, 2 .pdf of the same file, the icons appear in the upper part of the file open just to the left of the 4 icons to organize files in the folder window, I find, pdf file and removed from the system. Now 2 'querying points' appear in the same place and clicking on them produces a window in the finder with the note "point cannot be found. It is now a permanent part of each file in the system.   The question mark appears when the drive specified in the last

  System Preferences > startup drive...

  ... is not available. Your Mac can't find the boot drive, or the drive specified is not a bootable disk (does not contain Mac OS X).

  --------

  Start with the Alt/Option key, select your key USB Bootable and install on the new SSD.

  Long-term, make sure that you enable some version of TRIM, especially if your SSD is only 8 x the size of Mac OS X or smaller.
