My Recent Documents list

Is it possible to choose which file types appear in the list 'My recent Documents'?

In fact there are.  Go to c:\documents and settings\user_name \my recent documents.  It is hidden.  You will not see unless you have made sure you can see hidden files.  If you want to find out how, just type "c:\documents and settings\username \recent" in the run (Windows key + r) dialog box. Everything there is a shortcut.  Make sure you put in shortcuts.   To do this, right-click, drag somewhere, make shortcut.  Yay.

  • How can I clear my recent Documents list?

I have a silly question of basic, but I don't want to run my cCleaner which I have been using this for a while. So, how can I clear the my recent Documents list by using the standard procedure of Microsoft Windows?

    Hi Jeff,

Don't remove the recent documents folder, Double click and open the folder, select all the files into it and delete.

    I hope this helps.

  • List of recent Documents - inch tags as in MS Word & Excel?

Recent documents list - pine (thumb tags) as in MS Word & Excel from yarn (2010) or logo (2007) on the upper left corner of the application - something like that for Adobe Acrobat X Pro?

I would be grateful if anyone can confirm or advise a protocol to access certain documents of in Acrobat X himself among a list of recent Documents, by allocating a PIN on this subject.

In MS Word & Excel for example: If you go to file or MS Office logo on the upper left. It will automatically list the most recent documents you open - I think its 50 of them.

(When you open Adobe Acrobat Pro, it gives you only a list 5 last open... which may have been closed since & ne are not the last that you have closed because they were opened earlier to these.) Also the list of recent documents displays only if you close all documents, then reopen the application - so if you are working in a document and need to open another in the list of recent, you can not)

In MS Office, you could "pin" some to keep them always on the list of recent documents, until detach them you. The list of recent documents is always available from any document of the application.

This allows you to open a bunch of documents that you work or work frequently various folders without moving from their current locations or trying a search function to find them.

I'm sorry if my explanation is not so clear but see this feature of MS Office-it gives more efficient file access - less time-consuming.

I searched in the help Adobe Pro X, but could not find a solution that could enable this function to achieve... If anyone has a solution that can accommodate this function... .Please help!

(Sometimes for changes in discs or Windows updates or the platform or applications to install restart... his galley to find all pdf documents you were working on and then reopen.)

I don't know if he is an assistant that I can put in place to open these files again once I open Acrobat Pro X - just a thought.

Something in the settings preferences-maybe, maybe...?

    Thank you!

You can get Acrobat, but if you have Windows 7, then you can

do it on the OS level.

  • I'm unable to open one of my 'recent documents' document. It is said to make sure that the network resource is available.

    Original title: "Recent Documents".

I'm unable to open one of my 'recent documents' document.  It is said to make sure that the network resource is available.  What does that mean?  And I can't find the document in "My Documents" is.  And I tried a search.

    Hello

The error means either that the document no longer is located in the folder it was when it was finally opened or the location that the file was initially located in is no longer in the same place.

Example 1: I open a document in the My Documents folder, then after closing the document, I moved manually the file to the desktop.

Example2: I open a document located on a removable hard drive. After the closure of the paper, I then disconnect the removable hard drive of the PC.

In these two examples, Windows would be able to find the Document using the "Recent Documents" list

Step 1: I recommend that you check the trash or see if the document is located on a removable hard drive (or USB key) that is is more attached to the computer.

Step 2: Use recovery software of the third party to recover the document.

  • Cannot delete file titles in recent documents once the file has been deleted

When I delete a file in Word or Excel 2007, I'm not able to remove the name of the file in the recent Documents list.  When I right-click, I am not given the choice to delete.  When I click on the name of the file, I get a message saying the file is not found, but I'm not able to remove the display.  I asked teachers in vocational school education 2007 and even asked a HP technical support, when I got on the phone for another problem.  No one has the answer.

    Can anyone help?

This is a feature of Word 2007.  You can't delete a file of recent Documents.
Work around: pin any other files in recent Documents, save a new file and unlock files.  This will push the unwanted list file.

  • Word file missing-always present in recent documents

    Hello

I use Word for Mac 2011 and OS X 10.10.5.

I was looking to open a word file this morning and it was gone.

    Here's what I've tried:

1 automatic of the files-nothing there

    2. temporary files nothing there

    3. the record shows recent items in word - but is not where he is supposed to be

    4. I saved the computer 7 days ago, (I know I had to do it everyday but I have not :/) - could find a first version of the Time Machine backup, but have invested days in in the meantime - so all the work went

    5. I emptied trash when I supported the computer 7 days ago, if I accidentally deleted in the meantime, it should be in the trash

All the tips you have please help - it doesn't feel that it's for me

    Thank you

recent documents does not take into account the file exist.

If you select in the list it gives you an error WHERE it is trying to find?

If you emptied the trash and that's where it went but there are 3rd party tools for trying to UN-erase files, but more you empty your trash and use the computer normally less you will be able to recover anything.

is it possible that the file is on a drive flash, not connected external hard drive or network volume or cloud?

  • Microsoft Word 2016 do not open recent documents

In my previous version of Word, when I launched it would open all the docs that have been left open, when I left. It was really great for helping me to remember what I was working on when I stopped changed my Mac.

It seems to be controlled in the system preferences of Mac (not in MS Word preferences.) In the General preferences pane, I deselected 'Close the windows when you exit an application', but still it does not reopen what was open when I quit Word. I have to go in my recent documents and reopen all individually in my last session.

Someone knows how to fix this? (This does not really seem like the community just to publish on, but I can't seem to find an appropriate place.)

If it is not a direct solution, if you have the word preserved in the Dock, even when closed, you can right-click on it to get the list of recently used files and open like that.

    Hello

    Thank you answering back.

How to access recent documents in Gmail? It was during the setting of documents?

If so, recent documents that appear in the start menu is even when you try to attach the files to the post office.

If you need to delete the files in the recent documents folder, you can run the Fixit described in the article. It would be easier for you.

  • How to block recent Documents on the shared computer

My home pc IS a shared computer so if someone clicks on the "recent documents", they can see what ive been looking and visa versa, we need to this icon or a button, by name if go, there is no need of this 'recent document' choice, one please?  Thank you

Original title: 'my recent documents '.

Windows XP is designed to be a multi-user system.  You need to create a 'profile' of each different user and password - protect.  In this way, not only will the other users not being able to see the list of "recent documents" that you have been looking, they will not be able to access one of your documents (unless you want them to be able to do).

    See http://help.expedient.net/general/winxp_profiles.shtml

You need to create accounts of users 'limited' for each userrather as "computer administrator" accounts, and you must create a "computer administrator" for use when necessary.  You should not use the built-in account named 'Administrator' on a daily basis, but let him be available in an emergency.

Note that the "computer administrator" accounts CAN access documents and files belonging to other users.
