How restore/recover my recent documents list?

How restore/recover my recent documents list? the list used to come when I clicked on start, then on 'My recent Documents', but now when I do that all it shows is "EMPTY."   What I've done wrong?, and how do I solve this problem?  I am running Windows XP Service Pack 3 on a laptop Sony Vaio Model VGN-N130G.

Hello

  1. Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
  2. You have a third-party cleaning software installed on your computer?

If the computer has been installed with a user 'Owner' as done by a number of preloaded systems and the
name is changed to "XYZ", then you lose "my recent documents" feature.

You can try the following steps and check:

Method 1:

Follow these steps and check if it helps to fix the problem:

a. click Start, and then click Properties. Or, if the Start menu is already displayed, right-click an empty area of theStart menu and then click Properties.

b. click on Customize. Click the Advanced tab.

c. under recent documents, click to select the checkbox more recently open my documents list clickOKand then click OK.

Method 2:

Follow the steps here and check if that helps.

Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

  • How can I clear my recent Documents list?

I have a silly question of basic, but I don't want to run my cCleaner which I have been using this for a while. So, how can I clear the my recent Documents list by using the standard procedure of Microsoft Windows?

    Hi Jeff,

Don't remove the recent documents folder, Double click and open the folder, select all the files into it and delete.

    I hope this helps.

  • My Recent Documents list

Is it possible to choose which file types appear in the list 'My recent Documents'?

In fact there are.  Go to c:\documents and settings\user_name \my recent documents.  It is hidden.  You will not see unless you have made sure you can see hidden files.  If you want to find out how, just type "c:\documents and settings\username \recent" in the run (Windows key + r) dialog box. Everything there is a shortcut.  Make sure you put in shortcuts.   To do this, right-click, drag somewhere, make shortcut.  Yay.

I accidentally deleted the document I created to be sent with all custom fields. I can see the document itself on the dashboard on the list of recent events.

    Hello Jackie,.

Once the document is deleted, it is not possible to recover. Recent events show that history associated with the account, and the document link would be removed from there too after having sent documents to come.

  • How to clear the recent files list in Dreamweaver CC 2015?

I can't find any option in Dreamweaver CC 2015 to the list of recent files clear. There is an available option in Photoshop CC 2015.5 to the list of recent files clear (file > open recent item > clear recent file list). Could you please tell me how to do this in Dreamweaver? Now I'm clear recent files list manually by following this tutorial, however, is not a convenient way. So I ask the software developers to add this option (file > open recent item > clear recent file list) in Dreamweaver as Photoshop CC 2015.5 (if it is not added in Dreamweaver yet).

Now I'm clear recent files list manually by following this tutorial, however, is not a convenient way.

Editing the registry, as shown in this video, is the only way of doing what you want.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason why you want to clear the list of recent files on a regular basis? I've never done in DW. In Photoshop, maybe a few times.

I tried to attach a word document to turn in an assignment for a course online and it has erased some how!

First of all, stop using the computer. Don't use it to locate the file. Try Recuva from Piriform. This is the portable version, which is what you need, because you don't want to overwrite the file. It is best to have another drive to put the recovered files.

  • How to recover an application on list 'consuming apps?

    Hello

Recently, I removed an application in the list "best apps" in the power management-> energy App by pressing the button options-> list management.

I expect to be able to deliver the app on the list when I had to, but I have not found anywhere where it can be done.

Uninstall and reinstall the app will make it reappear on the list (as long as it starts to reuse battery and/or backgraound data), or is the irrevocable removal unless I have reset the phone?

    Thanks in advance

    Better compliance

    Andreas Kofod-Hansen

Say at the top by removing from the list will stop them listed summer in the future, I think that your best option is to perform a reset of preferences app - settings then applications then press the 3 points then Reset app preferences and then do a restart and test

  • How restore/recover deleted notes (which also appears in the spotlight search)?

OK so here's what happened, I was normally using my iPhone 5 (ios 9.3.2) so I decided to go to the notes... and then all of a sudden the notes app crashed and when I opened it again, all my NOTES DISAPPEARED. I don't know what caused this problem, but I know that my iPhone had full accumulation in time.

But when I tried to search for deleted notes, I noticed they were still burst into the spotlight search, but every time I press it, it just opens the notes app and that's all...

Is there anyway to restore my notes, because they are very important... Any answer would be useful (I'm desperate)

Without a backup, my hope for you is that these notes had been managed by an email service, and most of the time, they are even if the user is not aware of this. Check that all your related email accounts work correctly on your iPhone. If you have access to a computer, it can be useful to compare what is on your iPhone for what you see in your email account on the Web site of the account. So for gmail, you would go to gmail and access notes. Yahoo, you would do the same.

I strongly suggest you keep regular backups for situations like this. Backup your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch - Apple Support

If your notes are managed by iCloud, you can contact Apple for support and service - Apple supported. You can then ask to speak with security accounts and request their assistance in the recovery of all notes iCloud can successfully and have been deleted somehow. A backup is not required for this synchronization service.

I realize see your notes in the Spotlight can be a head scratcher, but Spotlight is indexed to refer to files in their original location. Think of it as these shortcuts you can do on your desktop. You click on the shortcut and it will take you to the respective application that would hold this content. In this case, it would be the notes you see is empty. Spotlight, itself, is not keep these notes.

  • List of recent Documents - inch tags as in MS Word & Excel?

Recent documents list - pine (thumb tags) as in MS Word & Excel from yarn (2010) or logo (2007) on the upper left corner of the application - something like that for Adobe Acrobat X Pro?

I would be grateful if anyone can confirm or advise a protocol to access certain documents of in Acrobat X himself among a list of recent Documents, by allocating a PIN on this subject.

In MS Word & Excel for example: If you go to file or MS Office logo on the upper left. It will automatically list the most recent documents you open - I think its 50 of them.

(When you open Adobe Acrobat Pro, it gives you only a list 5 last open... which may have been closed since & ne are not the last that you have closed because they were opened earlier to these.) Also the list of recent documents displays only if you close all documents, then reopen the application - so if you are working in a document and need to open another in the list of recent, you can not)

In MS Office, you could "pin" some to keep them always on the list of recent documents, until detach them you. The list of recent documents is always available from any document of the application.

This allows you to open a bunch of documents that you work or work frequently various folders without moving from their current locations or trying a search function to find them.

I'm sorry if my explanation is not so clear but see this feature of MS Office-it gives more efficient file access - less time-consuming.

I searched in the help Adobe Pro X, but could not find a solution that could enable this function to achieve... If anyone has a solution that can accommodate this function... .Please help!

(Sometimes for changes in discs or Windows updates or the platform or applications to install restart... his galley to find all pdf documents you were working on and then reopen.)

I don't know if he is an assistant that I can put in place to open these files again once I open Acrobat Pro X - just a thought.

Something in the settings preferences-maybe, maybe...?

    Thank you!

You can get Acrobat, but if you have Windows 7, then you can

do it on the OS level.

  • I'm unable to open one of my 'recent documents' document. It is said to make sure that the network resource is available.

    Original title: "Recent Documents".

I'm unable to open one of my 'recent documents' document.  It is said to make sure that the network resource is available.  What does that mean?  And I can't find the document in "My Documents" is.  And I tried a search.

    Hello

The error means either that the document no longer is located in the folder it was when it was finally opened or the location that the file was initially located in is no longer in the same place.

Example 1: I open a document in the My Documents folder, then after closing the document, I moved manually the file to the desktop.

Example2: I open a document located on a removable hard drive. After the closure of the paper, I then disconnect the removable hard drive of the PC.

In these two examples, Windows would be able to find the Document using the "Recent Documents" list

Step 1: I recommend that you check the trash or see if the document is located on a removable hard drive (or USB key) that is is more attached to the computer.

Step 2: Use recovery software of the third party to recover the document.
