My Satellite A100-232 has a WiFi card?

Hello
I'd like to find if there is a slot for a wireless miniPC card in my laptop? Properties show there is no WiFi card on my computer (Fn + F8 does not work either :-)).) I would like to know if I should look for USB or PCMCIA card or have hope for miniPC card.

Hey Buddy,

Yes, your laptop is a mini-PCI-slot on the bottom of your machine, close the memory locations.
Just open the cover where the mem slots are and there should be the minipci slots too where you can insert a Mini-PCI wifi card.

Welcome them

I want to be as sure as I can be, I already bought memory from Crucial - it does not work... so I want to be sure that I understand the next time.

Satellite A100-232, currently has 512 MB - I believe that I can go up to 2 GB and understand that 2 x 1 GB is better than 1 x 2 GB - is this true?

Next - WHO? memory - based on a search on their site, I bought 2 x 1 GB sticks of Crucial, they advised DDR2 PC2 5300 and it did not work. Despite repeated emails, they insist that these sticks are the 'replacement' for DDR2 PC2 4200 (who is now strongly indicated to me according to my recent research such as correct memory - part # PA3411U-1M1G).

If I buy now 2 x 1 GB - DDR2 PC2 4200 (from a different supplier of course) will I do the right thing? Assuming that the new work of memory, I get in touch with Crucial for money (of course).

You can upgrade the RAM to 2 GB and generally, you must use 2 x 1 GB RAM 533 Mhz.
In my case, a big module was not recognized. I had to use 2 x 1 GB of RAM, but I put t have this template.

I recommend using brand modules; Kingston is good and provides good quality modules.
Different manufacturers provide less expensive modules but the performance and the quality is not really good.

  • Satellite A100-847 - replacing a WLan card

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite A100-847. I would change as WIFI card for new with "n" standard.
I found some tutorials how to proceed, but it was for Toshiba A105, very similar to my only.

I opened the bottom cover where is memory and modem, but I couldn't see all the PCI ports.
    Is it possible to do?
Does work through mini-PCI or is integrated on the motherboard?

    Hello

The A100 PSAA9E supports a minPCI WLan card that supports the IEEE 802 standard. 11a / g WLan standards.
I m not 100% sure if it would be possible to upgrade the WiFi network with a WLan card 802.11 minPCI n because the two antenna cables.
You should first clarify if the antenna is compatible with the 802.11 standard new * WLan N standard *.

The minPCI wireless network card must be hidden under the keyboard. So you'd have to remove the keyboard first to get access to the wireless network card.
The wireless network card is also connected to two antenna cables. The cables must be removed carefully using a pair of tweezers. Then spread plugs securing the wireless LAN card until the card appears.

Usually it of not difficult to replace this WLan card but if you have no experience I wouldn t recommend doing this.
This replacement must be done by a qualified technician!
In addition you guarantee the validity could be cancelled after these updates.

  • Satellite A100: Questions regarding the WiFi printer & router

My Satellite A100 says he has:

    Compliance: Wi - Fi
    Network support: 802. 11 b / g built-in
    Wireless technology: Wireless LAN

    I would like to know:

    (1) I guess that means that if I have a wireless laptop router connects through a kind of indoor antenna - but I don't know if I have to "turn on" or if it is automatic?

    (2) I have a wifi printer. Can I print directly from the laptop to the printer or what I need to work through a router?

    Any help will be appreciated.

I don't know where you live, but I recommend to follow: check http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/ > support & downloads > find an ASP.

  • What for Satellite A10-PSA10A-3V1KK miniPCI WiFi card?

    Hello

I have an old Toshiba Satellite A10-PSA10A-3V1KK and I would like to add a WiFi card in the miniPCI slot.

I understand the initial documentation that the optional cards at that time were PA3212U-4MPC and PA3273U-2MPC (my favorite, as being compatible WPA). However, these references seem quite hard to find now...

Are there other, more recent references, 100% compatible with my Satellite A10, that I might consider?

    Thanks for your help,

    * CPP *.

As much as I know there is no references to the old models of laptops, and I don't think that old notebooks are tested with new material. So everything you can find about this is info you already have.

If you want to use the faster wireless network card using new WLAN standards you use PCMCIA WLAN cards.

  • Re: Satellite A100-638 has a stuck key even when I unplug the keyboard.

I have a Satellite A100-638 with a stuck tab button, up to now, I got around the problem by using a USB keyboard and keytweaking program.

Unfortunately recently I got problems of coherence on the disk. I installed Win XP on and I can't do a consistency check due to the cancellation scans if no key is pressed. I tried to unplug the keyboard of the laptop motherboard, I think I made the success, but the Tab key always records as being pressed.

The USB keyboard is fine and has no problem whatsoever.

If someone could help, I'd appreciate it.

Looks like the keyboard on the motherboard controller may be defective.

Are you sure this isn't a driver/software problem? Have you recently installed a USB mouse?

    6. has created a Windows 98 flash drive to start, but it does not work.
7 tried to clear CMOS by removing the battery, but I couldn't because he is stuck on MB.

I visited a technisian but he couldn't fix it.
He told me that the BIOS is corrupted or crashed. Maybe I should replace somehow.

    Is this possible?
    How?

    Thank you

It is for the Satellite A105 (PSAA2U) Bios Update, you can test the file at your own risk.

A text readme file is located in the folder, follow the instructions.
Download the Bios file from the link and copy it to a USB key, go into you Bios and this flash file.

  • My Satellite A100 does not support SDHC cards with the internal card reader

    Hello

My Satellite A100 can't stand my sandisk 4 GB SDHC.
'normal' SD cards are not a problem with the internal card reader, and there is no problem with the 4 GB sandisk SDHC card using an external card reader.

    is there a software solution?

    regrads,
    Itock

I don't have the time to read the manuals for your model of laptop users, but can be registered to all supported cards. I guess SDHC not registered and not supported.

I don't know what you mean with the software solution, but as far as I know, update for multimedia card reader is not available.

  • SD card does not work in on my Satellite A100-163 5-in-1 card reader

    Hello

I recently bought a 1 GB SD card and tried to plug it into my A100-163 built-in 5-in-1 card reader. Nothing appears in my computer. I tried to go to the Device Manager and, under "drives" "Secure Digital Storage Device" with a bit of yellow! Select this option. I tried updating the driver Module SD, but whenever I do that the installer comes up with an error, basically saying he can find SD Secure Module.msi. He tries to find in a dark temp folder that involves me Installer is not extracted properly.

Can someone help me read my SD card? Help, please!

UPDATE: on the occasion of the strange, it appears in my computer as "Secure Digital Storage Device. When I double click on it, it says:

"E:\ is not accessible. The request cannot be performed because of an i/o device error."

    Thank you.

    Hello Mike

One thing confuses me. If the unit has the multi card reader factory settings must be configured correctly. You use your own installation of the OS?

In any case, try to remove device from digital storage secure from Device Manager, then restart the device.

  • Satellite A100-912 has a few screen problems

    Hello

I have the Satellite A100-912 with WXP and up to today, there is no problem.

I don't know what happened, but a few hours ago, screen started flashing and colors have been mixed.
I tried to install the new drivers, but it did not help so I hope that someone here could tell me if I can fix it somehow or its some hw question...

    Thank you

    Hello

It is very important to know if this problem is caused by faulty material or because of software. To be 100% sure I recommend you to use a few methods.

First try to connect the external monitor to your laptop and please check if the same thing happen on the external monitor. If so the reason may be the faulty graphics card. Otherwise, you can also install OS using recovery delivered DVDs. After doing this you will have factory again and the good drivers will be installed. If the problem persists, it may really be due to faulty hardware (graphics card or screen).

Sorry, but it's really not easy to say with certainty what the problem is here. Please do not wait too long and if the guarantee is valid that the technicians check your laptop. The warranty will cover all repair costs.

    Good luck!

I don't know if my A100-784 has an internal microphone, I tried to talk on Skype, yahoo Messenger, but doesn't help, no one can hear me, but I can clearly hear them talking to me.

Can someone tell me, is it my laptop or not has an internal microphone?

    Hello

I just google for your type and found out, that your machine has no internal microphone. You must connect an external microphone to your machine to talk on Skype.
