  Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forum.  It is somewhat a problem when it comes to laptops that comes up from time to time.

  The reason is there is a cable connected to the motherboard that goes back through the hinge area and connects to an inverter that powers the monitor.

  Once the cable wears out, but more often just to move General around get you a loos to the inverter or the motherboard connection.
