  • Click the check box next to "run this program in compatibility mode for: '.
  • Choose the option of Windows 7 on the menu drop-down.
  • Click "Run this program as an administrator".
  • Click apply and then click OK.

  If you've used windows update for drivers which was a mistake, then visit Sony support and reinstall all the drivers available.

  PC manufacturers are innovative and the drivers are specific to this machine to & the model, even more with a laptop. If Windows Update should never be used for drivers, unless the PC manufacturer said.

  If you still have problems, go back to the Sony Support and state that your two day old PC does not work and say that you need them to replace.

  The recovery partition cannot be open/covered and is visible in disk management. By default, the recovery media should not ask the way since its preset. It is possible that the recovery partition can be damaged or is (missing a file (s).

  There are two possible reasons why you are not able to copy anything to the CD or DVD.

  First, it may be possible that the drives used are not entirely compatible.
  In such cases, it s always advisable to test different CD and DVD from different manufacturers.

  Secondly, the issue could be related to a defective laser lens; in many cases, this can happen because of a physical constraint. If the laser lens can not calibrate in a good position, then the player will not be able to handle the inserted discs.
  This could be the worst case, because this issue is not repairable. Just a STRANGE replacement could help.

  With this part, '... just bought a Sony Vaio laptop... "I'm going to point out what is obvious and suggest that contact Sony as soon as POSSIBLE.  Supported hardware (webcam is material) and all the software that allows the hardware to communicate with the operating system you choose is the manufacturer of the equipment.  :-)

  Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
  ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and

  I can't connect my iPhone to iTunes on my Sony Vaio laptop. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes several times, as recommended on the Apple Support communities, nothing helps. I also deleted and set my phone from scratch. The device is recognized as a storage device, but not iTunes. Can someone please advise as to why this would be the case?   My CD/DVD-ROM does not recognize when there is a DVD in the drive. I had this problem before, but persistence always overcame the problem, that is, I still put the DVD in over and over again, and then it worked. If I run it in normal Mode, the same problem occurs. If I run in Mode safe (networking works too), everything works as it should in Mode without failure. A problem report comes up saying 'address a problem with NVIDIA Graphics Driver NVIDIA Graphics Driver has stopped working properly.  An update of the driver, as appropriate, could prevent this problem does not happen.   I was using Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium in my Sony VAIO laptop. Recently, I bought PRO 8.1 Windows and installed.

  Now, most of my drivers and utilities VAIO is not compatible! Support for Sony is saying, direct installation Windows 8.1 will be loss the drivers and utilities and we cannot install drivers and utilities more!

  The solution is that I have to install Windows 8 PRO and install and upgrade the sony vaio drivers and utilities. After that, I can do an upgrade to Windows 8.1 PRO.

  So, the question is, I download the installer of Windows 8 PRO but, PRO 8.1 Windows key does not accept!

  What should do? Now, I am running Windows 7. I need to upgrade to windows 8 and 8.1. Please help me solve this problem. All I need is to make my work with Windows 8 key.

  I wish to inform you that the product key that is used for Windows 8.1 cannot be used for Windows 8.

  If you upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 8, you will need the key to upgrade of Windows 8. The retail version of Windows 8.1 product key cannot be used to activate Windows 8.

  However, the majority of drivers and utilities that are compatible with Windows 8 works correctly with Windows 8.1.

  Please let us know the model number of the laptop, so that we can get the proper drivers and utilities from the laptop.
