My Toshiba Satellite will NOT connect to the WiFi in my house of employers, but connects everywhere else I will!

My Toshiba Satellite WILL NOT connect to WiFi in my house of employers, but connects everywhere else I go; I have Windows XP Home Edition SP3, and there a router Linksys WRT16ON. My network card is an Atheros AR5001X + Wireless Network Adapter (and says "this device is working properly". I tried disabling, entering all information, penetrates is not in the news was unchecking the "Enable IEEE 802. 1 x authentication"(and whenever I go in there, he checked again) changed on 'Open' and 'AES' TKIP, WPA (which is) and the password is correct, restart the router, moved the laptop around (the router was in my room, now it is in the thnxt room and it Me REPEAT JUST : 'Validation of identity' and 'impossible to find a certificate to connect to the network'.) I can connect with ethernet, but not with this new situation of the House, do I have the wireless. WHAT ME MISS? I did this for weeks and even now, it says I'm connected, the signal strength is very good, often great, but Explorer cannot display this webpage. Can someone tell me what to do? Thank you!  Allie

Your old Toshiba equipped with an adapter wireless which is likely to be used for Wireless-a, b, wireless and wireless-g (the project).   Your employer has a newer version (not the last and larger, but much more recent than your equipment) router Linksys that is capable of wireless-b, wireless-g and wireless - n.

Your most likely problem is that your employer has set up his router to "N-only.  Wireless n uses the same radio frequency as wireless-g (this is why detect you the "excellent" signal strength), but uses a different protocol (this is why you can't connect).

Politely ask your employer to change the mode 'network' from the back of the default router of "mixed".

The router manual is here: http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/routers/WRT160N see p. 13 ' Basic Wireless Settings.

Looking for a certificate message was probably bound to have the box 802.11 x checked.  This box should NOT be checked for home wireless networks.

  • Toshiba satellite which is stuck in the installation of service Pack 1. I have service pack 2, can not fix with this cd, can I install service Pack 2 on it without loss of data or files?

I have the laptop (Toshiba satellite) friend who's stuck in the installation of the service Pack 1.  I have service pack 2 and am wondering, since I can't fix with this cd, can I install service Pack 2 on it without loss of data or files?

PC claims service pack1 cd with file asms

When you use service pack 2 cd can not load product catalogues, it is fatal error, the Setup logs files should contain more information.

Why not integrate Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 3 on her XP CD by following the instructions here (using another PC):

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/software-OS/w/microsoft_os/1443.aspx
Copy all data on an external hard drive, do a clean install using the XP CD updated (preferably on the BIOs)
Then, install the drivers from the system, then Microsoft Security Essentials, Windows 7 Firewall Control (XP free Version) and Malwarebytes' AntiMalware (free or Pro) or whatever you prefer security.
    Then copy the files over.
This will probably lead to the best performance.
  • WIFI problem, Toshiba Satellite A665 internet connection. Lately when I try to connect to the internet, for the first minute or so it says "no internet connection".

    Hi all

I had problems with my Toshiba Satellite A665 to internet connection. Lately when I try to connect to the internet, for the first minute or so it says 'No internet connection' (or something similar). Basically, he has the yellow warning triangle. Sometimes I can open the browser and search normally, but other times - and this happens more often it won't let me use my browser. When I have not fix the problem, he said that the DNS server is not responding. The problem is this same error happens all. unique. time. and the other computers in the House connect to the internet just fine. I called TWC and what I get on their part, it is "there no reported outages in your area. Useful, right? Tends to be gnawed by the use of Netflix and Hulu Plus, but this has never kept internet bandwidth to work in the past. What is going on? I'm so tired of having to go all the way down the stairs to reset the router every hour (on a good day) to get the computer to connect to the internet.
I contacted Toshiba and they say that all the drivers on your computer are up to date and nothing is broken. I have also not downloaded or installed anything on my computer.

If the reset of the router fixes the problem you should probably watch that as the culprit. Check the software/firmware for the router and see if you can borrow to someone router to test.

    I hope this helps.

  • Toshiba Satellite does not recognize the Wifi Drivers

Reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop because I had to replace the hard drive and now I can not get my wireless to work.

I don't know how this can be so frustrating. I had 0 problems with ubuntu, he asked me my wifi password during installation and I never had a single issue!

I've already lost 4 hours of my life trying to make the drivers that I downloaded via ubuntu on this machine directly from the manufacturer to work!

I checked 20 times already and I don't know that I had the correct drivers, what should I do?

    I need internet to work!

Please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

My laptop model is Toshiba Satellite P745-S4217

  • Toshiba Satellite S855D - Wi - FI in the VM (Windows 8)

How about this, if it's even feasible.

I just got the S855D Satellite. My first order of the day was in the Recycle Bin of Windows 8, which, fortunately, I was able to in a unique way, having shot and recorded the HDD of 750 GB original and its replacement by a 480 GB SSHD. If the laptop is really jazze - nice size SSHD for $300. but it's really more to the point. So I Win 7 running successfully - everything 100%. I have installed VMWare one put in place a Windows 8 VM(It's OK for a VM, but I don't want to really USE it for my main O/S!)

But virtualization seems to be passed between the o/s and the physical machine - I can not access the WIFI of the Windows 8 VM. Tried various Toshiba and nothing helps Intel drivers. Any suggestions?

Also - I tried to implement a virtual machine from the recovery media, and it took, but wouldn't start. The BIOS of the virtual machine doesn't seem to have the choice of starting, the Satellite - "UEFI" or "CSM" - is there a way I might be able to get this scenario to work?

And, while there, might as well post a THIRD question - I tried the physical machine virtualization, but he does not see the Toshiba with the original hard drive Windows 8, even thoough, it appears on the network. All of the suggestions here, too?

    Thank you very much!

If you want Wi - Fi directly under Windows 8 in the Virtual Machine itself, then you must provide your own USB WiFi network adapter and connect directly the the VM in VMware present only wired Ethernet to the guests.  (Take a look on, VM features and specifications.)  Also you can not attach network Wi - Fi adapter built-in host to the virtual machine while the virtual network adapter can be bound directly to him in the editor of virtual network by disabling automatic bypass and select on Ethernet cable the host if both are active.

Otherwise in regards to the networking going you must read Chapter 5 "Configuring network connections" in using VMware Workstation (PDF) in order to have a better understanding of the Infrastructure virtual VMware.

Also take a look at: Presentation of products types networks hosted (1006480)

In regards to the OEM installation in a virtual machine, it is Imaging do not allow for its EULA and you will need to purchase a retail copy or a copy OEM integrators of system and make use of the personal use license.  Also several versions OEM check that it is running on OEM hardware and Virtual Machine hardware will not match the Toshiba Satellite S855D OEM hardware and that's why restore the recovery for a virtual machine Image/disc fails!

    Hello

I think you should go through the parameters of single network once more, and ensure that each step of the configuration has been set correctly.
Here is a user manual where you can see the step by step instructions:
    Start with page 39
    http://www.Toshiba-OM.NET/LCD/PDF/English/L4363-323950-English.PDF

Finally, you can perform a connection Test of such network mentioned on page 43

In the case where this will not work, reset the TV (page 76 of the user manual for details) device and the router. I think there must be a reason why the TV is unable to complete the network connection

  • Toshiba Satellite M60-154: what is the best way for a long service life of a battery?

    Hello Toshiba-users,

I bought the "Toshiba Satellite M60-154" but I want to use most of the time on the AC adapter.

I read the manual, but they say nothing about the battery life for people like me who will use the computer power adapter laptop most of the time.

I would like to know if:

    (1) it is best put the battery inside when I use the laptop on the power adapter for a long time (they say this is not good for the life of the battery when it is fully charged and when he is still in charge...)

    (2) it is best to take the battery when when I use the laptop on the power adapter for a long time and check the battery every week for example to see whether or not it is still loaded (they say it's good for the life of the battery when the battery is fresh off once a week)

Indeed, what should I do to make sure that the battery will have a long life, knowing that I always use the laptop on the power adapter instead.

    Thanks for the tips

[Edited by: admin on 28-Sep-05 17:28]

    Hello

your info is just. Only put the battery in the laptop, if you want to load or work without mains, to make sure that your battery has a long service life relative.

  • C50-A-19 t satellite does not start with the battery mounted

    OK, first post here.

I see similar questions coming, but as they are never QUITE the same, I am that posing in a new thread.

I left my Satellite from one day to the next (do not remember if I had put off, or he simply had 'gone to sleep', but it has been connected to the grid).

When I got to reboot, I got a power light on, but screen blank (black). After reading a few similar complaints on the internet (via another laptop!), I tried to remove the battery and power from the grid.
This worked well (I write him in this state right now).

But whenever I put the battery and try again, it will fail in the same way.
I tried this company "press and hold power for 30 seconds" without success (but I'm not 100% sure of the EXACT procedure actions sequence).

    I have a few questions:

    (1) I take the laptop away from my office - is there a problem with everything just works like this (i.e. of the grid, with no battery inserted) indefinitely?

    (2) in any case, I want to solve the problem.
If the battery has run COMPLETELY flat, and that the laptop can not it lights but also operate normally?

Alternatively, is probably that the battery has not experienced a catastrophic failure and simply needs to replace?
If so, I'll just buy a. BUT...

What I don't want to do, is to pay for a costly spare battery, to find that it was actually another factor at the origin of the problem, and I'm back to square one and out of Pocket!

    Any advice would be welcome.

    Thank you

    Mike

    Hello

According to your assignment, in most cases, you use the laptop connected to the power adapter but no battery. Is this correct?

First we need to know that if the AC adapter is plugged in, the laptop should work correctly with - and without inserting the battery.
If you unplug the AC adapter, the laptop should automatically switch to battery power. In this case, it is important that the battery is pretty cool power to provide the power for the laptop.
In case the battery is empty, the laptop will not light.

I recommend to insert the battery plug the power adapter and charge the battery for a longer period of time.

You should also check if the battery is recognized by the Windows system and the battery charge indicator (battery in the taskbar icon) shows the State of battery charge.

In case the battery is fully charged and the laptop does not work using the battery power only, you should test the new battery.
If new battery does not solve the problem, s for laptop hardware needs an audit.

  • Toshiba Satellite 5200 - how to open the case?

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba portable computer Satellite 5200 903.
    Here's my problem:

My laptop is getting very hot, even it is idling. This is because the cooler got very dirty over time. And if the case/CPU-fan runs all the time, but no air comes out there.
Now, I would open the case and clean the cooler. But for some reason, it is not possible. I removed all the screws in the back, in the Bay of battery and the hard drive Bay, but it's not working. So I think there must be some other screws, maybe next to the powerbutton on the top under a blanket. But I don't know how to remove this cover, without breaking.
Or maybe I'm totally wrong and missed something else.
I hope someone can help me.

And sorry for my bad English.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

in my expierence the screws on each NB arranged differently and I would disadvice you open the NB to yours!

In my opinion, it will be the best way to the NB to a Toshiba Service partner. They have the kowledge how to open each specific model and change the FAN!

This will cost money, but you can be sure that it works after the check-up!

You can find the following Service partner

    Hello

I will update the Toshiba Satellite C870 19(r) with a Pro 840 Samsung SSD, but it does not start.

    He said: not found system.

    Post edited by: joch333n

None found system means that there is no system installed on the SSD drive...

    What you trying to do?
You start from a disk in order to install the new system?

In this case, you should disable startup secure in the BIOS.
I also recommend moving from UEFI mode MSC!
